I'm not overly impressed with it. Price tag is high, cards per pack are low and it looks like it is extremely hard to crack anything good. Trilogy is bad for that also. Maybe I'll get a pack here or there.

UD1 at the card store by me keeps going up in price, they stopped buying blaster boxes. What do people think of the Fleer?

It's kind of nice to have this haven away from Beckett and other boards. But if they ever show up... uh oh.

I picked up one pack of SPGU this afternoon and got a dual zetterberg/draper jersey. 5 boxes must have been opened while I was there. Some real nice stuff too. Their was a triple jersey (gonchar, neidemayer, pronger), and dual patch, (modano, turco), a Roy significance auto, and the best a Belfour Nameplates 6/7 which was the U. Pretty nice card. No great rookies though. A couple rookie auto's and a couple stat scriptions, and a couple draft auto's. I probably won't be buying anymore. Series 2 and Beehive both come out this month and I'm looking forward to them more than putting another $45.00 down on a pack of SPGU.

I'd love to grab one of those stanley cup cards. They were only available in the factory set, however. I remember the urban legends about people going over the boxes with metal detectors, plucking the cards. If I remember correctly, which i probably don't, there were only like 1,000 copies. That sounds big now, but consider how overproduced the set was!

I can't remember who asked, but the Roy signature card was his base card. Same with the Kirk McLean from the following year.

yeah ovechkin is the deal for sure .

ive only seen him play twice so far not counting olympics but hes a really good hockey player , much better then that fucing baby crosby .

that kid had a temper tantrum in the penalty box one time when i saw them playing and he looked like he was gonna f-in cry !

im sick of the hype machine and im sure time will tell that ovechkin is the better player plain and simple.

i like ovechkins game for sure and its funny cause i think ovechkin the player that kovalchuk could be if he worked at it and thats saying something i think cause kovy is a great player

HEHEHEHE Always knew it would happen, even when I got laughed at during the WJC 2005. I gotta admit though, I didn't expect Ovechkin to be this good. I really think he could be considered as being in the top 3 players in the league. As for his defensive play well he's got a much better +/- rating that Crosby, and on a team with a shocking defensive record Ovechkin is around even.

There is a regular version of that autographed card (out of 135), and a gold parallel version(out of 35) with a much lower print run. Gold is definitely worth more, because of it's rarity. 2.5 times the regular. Doan is $15 X's 2.5 for the gold version ($42.50)

Shakes - yes the set includes all rookies all single, double ,triple and quad cards. im gonna get the croby and ovechkin graded. the ovechkin is gonna be 9.5 at least, crosby probably 9(hopefully) only 1 crosby graded a 10 bgs. talk about sensitive cards

Gratz - nice card. you should go for the draft one - i just think that that is a phenonmenal card... one of a kind almost (well eleven of a kind i guess.. but you won't see one like that again).

Avafan - totally agree with you, black diamond is a nice high end rookie, UD is cool, mvp and fleer are fun to pull if you like that player.. the rest of i'll never get behind.

NHL 2006 is a pain in the arse to play on 'medium' skill. i play as the bluejackets - i hated playing with Nash so i traded him, but then we messed up our season and my friend accidentally misfired on the controller and dealt 3 of my players to chicago for FREE. (didn't think you could do that... but apparently you can :p)...

we rehased and i traded Nash, Malholtra, and a 1st rounder (probably could've done second), for Drury, Connolly & Briere.

also signed Deadmarsh, McCammond, and some "Priest" guy who i'm pretty sure was just made up by the EA guys... he's a monster lol.

the whole team is built on speed.

now we have a super well rounded team with 100% chem on every lineup, and two defensive pairings...

the only problem is when the computer *DECIDES* that it *WILL* win, and even though you are up 4-1, it will start scoring goals on you at will. kind've frustrating in that sense... but still fun and challenging.

i'm currently 2-6-0-0. the important thing is that we're keeping most of the games close :D

I thought I'd give my 2 cents on the Crosby/Ovechkin topic. When the season started I was all for Sid the Kid and I hated Ovechkin. Now, my feelings have totally switched. I still kind of like Crosby but I'm a big fan of Ovechkin. And how can you not be? I've never heard a bad word about him...from fans...from teamates. And does make some pretty exciting plays.

Glad dacardworld.com approved my order!!! saintsgoale30 told me packs of SPGU were $21 there as opposed to the place we went to that had them at $35.
