Kind of upset that my ovechking fresh ink only went for $224.50 when two of the regular fresh ink's went for 249.99 and 220.50 o well money is money but i still dont get it

ebay is goofy that way... it's such a crapshoot it seems. :(

well the card store i went to today didnt get is SPGU because of the cost so i got six packs of ultra for the cost of 1 pack of GU

Well, the auction I won for $10.50 came today in the mail! Not bad for 3 auto'd cards. I was only interested in one, as you probably know! :D I didn't think this guy was gonna honor it, to be honest. Took him 5 days to respond to my shipping quote! :rolleyes: Tried to brighten up the scan so you can see the Bowman's Best Drury auto, but it didn't work that well. :o Damn foil cards! LOL!!

Dave, where did you go? The lowest Ive seen in the city is $35 plus tax at Sports Card Connection. It's on St Anne just south of the junction. Going south it would be on the left side, going north it's on the right.

I just got back from the game and Ovechkin was incredible! Two goals and an assist, that guy was flying around the ice. We sat in the corner, eleven rows up and only paid $25 per ticket!
There was a fan in the front row who was pounding away on the glass, and during a stoppage in play Ovechkin non-chalantly skated by and slammed the butt-end of his stick into the glass. Of course this riled the guy up and Ovie just skated away and looked over his shoulder and smiled. This kid was fun to watch.

SO here an ebay shipping story that relates to Leafsfan1967 post from yesterday I believe. I won a 3 coloured Lombardi jersey from a guy in the U.S for $2.99. He sent me an invoice with shipping of $8.50. I told him he was crazy and could keep the card that I wasn't going to pay that much. So I received an email yesterday saying that the shipping cost was quoted from the U.S postal site and even his partners (card store I suspect) thought he was nuts. So he replied and said he would take the card to he post office and get an exact cost and charge me that price.........

And no shipping was not quoted in the auction, so he couldn't say I knew what it was......

What about negative feedback you ask, I really didn't care as he has 100% feedback and I don't suspect he wanted a negative anymore than I did. I took a gamble..............

Moral of the story, don't be shy to tell a seller to shove it, if you think you are getting screwed. I have don't the same thing 3 or 4 times now.............I told him I am aware of the shipping issues sending to Canada but wasn't willing to take the Johnson Rod..........

Steve, there's been about 50 of them come, and go in the past couple months. You can't be looking that hard, and besides, I know where both of you live. LOL!! ;) I only got this one, because I know the seller real good, and I don't have to pay for shipping! I just have to pick it up on Tuesday, at the Thornhill card show! ;) You can get one of these easily for $20-$25, and if you want to bid on something Leafs, just LMK, and I won't bid.

I have the same problem sometimes with the titles, and miss good stuff. LMK if you want one of these, and you can have it for what I paid for it. Gonna pick it up on Tuesday. I don't need it, and I just bought it, because the price is reasonable on these. I'm not that thrilled with SPGU to be honest. Too many under-valued boxes opened that I've seen. Save your money for SP Authentic in April. ;) Hopefully, Ron will be able to hook us up with his connections. :o Auction # is 8782545154

The whole pack opening thing is addicting, been there, and done that! :o I've went through too many disappointing box breaks over the years, and I feel more satisfied getting off ebay a Sundin auto, and a Tellqvist auto/rookie for the price of a pack of SPGU! Sure you miss the thrill, and the possibility of a big hit, but really how many of those truly ever happen? They never do for me, so I go with the sure thing, and I'm happy with the choice. ;)

Well, the Arena is officially gone. Looks like I'll be heading ove to the site today to try to find something, anything.

The dismantling was absurd and unfair. They promised an auction that never happened, they didn't sell off the bricks (which they did for the fricking Eaton's downtown), nothing.

Thankfully I got my chair and through contacts, I have a few other memory items like this one:

Ya getting a bit fed up with the cracking packs thing ( part of the reason I stopped collecting back in 98) I usually keep what I want, sell what I don't, then buy the singles later on Ebay from that cash. The tons of reg cards I give away to kids, so all in all I feel good about it. Think I'll ride it out this year then cut back next year. Never going to get a crop of rookies like this again.

Jeeze I didn't realize that the Winnipeg arena was going to be torn down. I heard at one point that a Waterpark was going to be built in it, but that was shot down because of some politician. It's going to be weird to come out of CanadInns and not see it.

I have always been responsible when it comes to my money. I allot so much to spend on different things, like cards/SPs, fast food and entertainment. If i go over on one I just cut out on another. It's always nice to know that if something pops up I have cash to cover it, but in order to do that I sometimes have to let some things go and cards are on of the least important things, this time it just happens to be a card I really want.

It's official, I'm insane.....

I'm trying to complete a set of jerseys from 03/04 Prism. They are cheap, very easy to find and have a large print run. There's 50 cards in the set and I already have 14 of them, so I might as well try and do the whole thing. It should be a fun project since I'm not really busting boxes anymore and Hemsky is my only player that I collect autos and game used cards of.

The cards are pretty much worthless, but they look kind of cool (oooooh, shiny...) even though it's only a dime swatch and Pacific was always a turd.

So if anyone has any 03/04 Prism jerseys they want to unload, now's the time! I never thought the day would come when I would WANT to own cards of Legwand and Zednik, but I've never done a jersey set before and this is a realistic goal. Hossa, Lemieux, Spezza might be hard, though...

Hey guys, just bought 2 Dion Phanuefs RC for $40 can dlvd. Good deal?

Came from the card shop and they were opening boxes of UD2. 2 cards per pack in the boxes I saw had red inck across the back in 4 different lines ( ribbon from the ink?) and all the Victory cards had bent corners......even the Crosby.

I'm done until SPA.....yes Shakes this means no more till then.....now just Ebay singles, you guys have convinced me.

I'd probably be looking for Woywitka cards I need for the Danis... or I might consider selling once I have it in hand.

I'd also consider Oilers game used or autocards.

Can anyone post what years Fleer has produced hockey cards. I know this years set is the first in about 10 years or so.

Ok very quickly.

Fleer first entered the hockey card market in 92-93 with Fleer Ultra. The set continued throughout its initial run, which ended in 96-97.

Other sets produced by Fleer in this run included PowerPlay, Flair, Skybox Impact, Emotion, Fleer Picks and Fleer.

In 00-01, Fleer returned with Greats of the Game. Like ITG last year, Fleer only had NHL licensing rights. They also produced Legacy that year. The last "official" Fleer hockey product was Throwbacks in 01-02.

Since UD took over the company's brands in '05, Ultra returned to hockey in 05-06. Hot Prospects will also come out this year. Two Fleer sets have already been announced for 06-07.

My box of UD2 was okay, solid but not spectacular.

Top YG was either Vanek or the CL, depending on your perspective. I hit the mark on Victory though, with Ovechkin, Lundqvist and Getzlaf. Jerseys were Samsonov and Linden.

it's tradenight, so if I strike out maybe I'd be able to swap my crap for something decent/something I want.

No there were Fleer Ultra sets in: 92-93, 93-94, 94-95, 95-96 and 96-97

There was also other Fleer sets like Fleer Metal Universe, Flair, Skybox...

My crazy Prism jersey project is progressing. I actually bought a pack the other day and pulled the Forsberg (blue swatch) Red Parallel out of 75. It's a sweet card. While it does not help my quest for the gold jerseys, it's a keeper. I have knack for pulling Forsberg GU stuff. Whenever I do it's always a blue swatch too. Weird, eh?

Does anyone here have any Prism jerseys to sell/trade me?

i figured you would want them if you dont get any.

and yeah, i saw the highlight...its about time; but you cant ask for much more from him, he has played extremely well this season IMO and hope he isnt going to bounce between the ahl and the nhl next year if the lightning sign a dman or two in the offseason
