Does anyone remember as fondly as I do the days when there was one set to get? I miss the days when you opens pack after pack to find your player, or do the ol' Need im got im trade ya. Maybe that's too far back. But I still have my Upper Deck hockey, first three years from 90 til 92-93, and flip through that album with great memories.

yeah that's why I only collect Iginla cards. There are WAY too many sets these days and packs are crazy priced, especially when you only get like 5 or 7 cards in a pack.

By the way, I don't think we should have had to switch to a new thread. Everything we talked about was about cards. Now there are 2 threads we'll need to check so it kinda sucks.

Last time I bought some BAP Ultimate was 01/02. I got three packs for $40 each from JW's in Dallas :D Only got that deal though because my buddy up there is pretty tight with the guys that work the hockey section and it was the last three they had so they wanted to move them out. Good pickups to because the last pack I busted had a Sakic In the Numbers 6/10 :eek:

Gratzi! Saw a nice red swatch Ice Authentics Iginla auto/jersey there! Almost bought it! He had a white swatch Naslund, too! Bought another Heatley auto for $15 (Honour Roll Signature Class) The Ultimate Memoribillia packs were going for $140 Canadian. ($125 my price) I may try a pack, not sure yet!

BTW Troy since I started trading with you I have almost only bought auto cards lol. I just spent 60$US on 4 goalie autos plus 3$ tommorow on a Garon auto can't beat that since this card shop lets me have any auto/GU card for 50% stick price

I like the Ice Authentics the best, but not a huge fan of Luongo's auto! Kinda cheesy IMO! The Biron is real nice! Still rather have an Eddie! :D

I was a hardcore hockey card collector for a very long time....then last September my financial situation changed so I was forced to choose one hobby over the other - and I decided to go with hockey SPs as my only hobby going forward. As a result I ended up selling nearly my entire collection by the new year. All I have left are a couple of jersey cards and 2 sets from the early 90s (90-91 OPC Premiere and 90-91 Upper Deck).....

HOWEVER - today a box of 03-04 Pacific Luxury Suite is arriving at my door. I'm not getting back into the card thing and I cannot decide what I want to do with this box.....should I open it & sell the cards? Should I not open the box and sell it unopened? I got this box through an SP trade, as the guy on the other end of the trade didn't have any hockey SPs that I needed.

Anyone here collecting 03-04 Pacific Luxury Suite? suggestions?

Hokiemon, I would DEFINETELY be interested in a pack or 2 from Luxury Suite!!! I don't know if I can afford to straight up, depending on how much you want per pack. If you choose to open the packs, I still may be interested in some cards you may pull. Especially, Koivu/Theodore dual card, Theodore, Koivu, Naslund, bertuzzi, Thornton, Brodeur, Lidstrom, St. Louis, Iginla, and Palffy. LMK, you can PM or post, I'll be on for awhile

Hey Ferone7! Don't have any of the Parkies from that year, as my wife wouldn't let me start that! LOL! But it's good to see someone still appreciates the old stuff! I have complete sets of OPC from 71-72 to the 78-79 season, but the condition on the doubles of those aren't very good as we use to chuck them against the wall! :o :( Not sure where your located, but you would be able to find alot of the older stuff at a show like the Toronto Expo!

Troy, well I figured it out with ebay. Since my card shop usually just goes like whatever the cost of a pack is x the amount of packs in a box - $15-25 (so at $7.99 here, with 20 packs in a box I would pay around $130-140 at least. On ebay I can get a BuyNow box for $59.99 U.S. + $8 delivery, which equals about $90 CDN, which is probably my best bet.

No ultimate emblems......I'm actually pretty disappointed with the second box. I did get a Nathan Horton 2 color jersey/auto rookie so that was cool. Getting these boxes has reminded me why I got out of the hobby last year. The premium brands are tempting but they cost so much money - then if you don't hit gold with them, you feel the pain. I will be selling or trading all the cards I pulled out of both boxes - except for the Bert patch/jersey and the Belfour stick/jersey......and I could possibly be enticed into trading those two cards for the right offer (hockey SPs, that is)....

Bozzy - I thought I returned your PM but maybe I forgot to since I was leaving for vacation that day. Thanks for the link Flesh! Unfortunately all the autographed cards were in redemption card form, which has long since expired! I pulled a Sharon Osbourne auto redemption card from a few packs I bought last summer, and it was expired back then. Luckily for me, Inkworks still honoured it and sent me the card! I doubt they would now, so I just have to wait till one shows up on Ebay! One shows up every month or two! I never have had the money when they have surfaced. Hopefully next time!

Well I won some sweet Luongo's this week. Won 3 different S/J cards all 3 or 4 color stick pieces. Also won a Turco Ultimate Memorbilia jersey though I have been thinking of selling my Turco collection the last little while. Also picked up a bunch of goalie cards in a trade. Pulled a Thornton (boo) patch from UD1 it was the bear head traded it.

I thought of that today as a matter of fact! Probably was pulled that way, as it was packed real good! the white on the top right edge was in the original auction scan! Could of complained, but it wouldn't get me anywhere! It was only $11 anyhow!

Damn, an Iggy Ice Authentics went on ebay for like $27 US. More than I want to pay and if I didn't put the Family Guy box sets (Got both for the price of one at Future Shop) on my credit card over the weekend, I'd probly have bought it. That's the cheapest I've seen it go for in a little while now. Think I'm gonna try pay off the card a little bit before I buy anymore Iginla cards. Racked it up a little eith those box sets and with Raw being in Winnipeg on Monday.

If I recall correctly, Ice Authentica are 1:4 boxes (1:80 packs), Under glass are 1:8 boxes (1:160 packs), and the glass rookie parallel cards /25 are 1:16 boxes (1:320 packs)
