Back at work after a great weekend! Saturday was one of the most perfect days I have every had, not because of some single great event but just because every single thing went great.

We were up in NC because my wife had a scrapbooking/rubber stamping convention in Greensboro to go to. She took our younger son, so me and Stephen drove over to Winston-Salem for the day. Its about 25 minutes away from Greensboro.

They have the Old Salem area there with all the original buildings from the time of the Revolutionary war on and you pay 1 price and then get to see all the places and the guides are all in period costume. It was one of the best historical areas I have ever been to, just so well done and nothing out of place. The weather was absolutely perfect (around 71 degrees and sunny) and we had lunch at an old fashined soda shop there. Then he laid in my arms and took his afternoon nap while I sat on a bench under a big maple tree and relaxed.

After we finished up at Old Salem we headed up to the area where Wake Forest's stadium is. There is a huge fairground right across the street and the fair was in town so it was super crowded, but the game wasn't that busy. So we parked and got to the stadium and by that time it was in the 3rd quarter so I wasn't sure how I was going to get a ticket. So we walked around to see if anyone had an extra and lo and behold I found one on the ground! We got in with about 3 mins left in the 3rd quarter athe seat was pretty good, on the 40 yard line about halfway up. So we got to enjoy the rest of the game and then headed back to Greensboro where we ate at a restaurant called Po Folks.

It is southern cooking and we used to eat there all the time when I lived in Atlanta, but they closed like 15 years ago and I thought the whole chain was out of business. But it was just as good as I remember it from all those years back. Then we went back to the hotel and I put Stephen to bed and watched the late college football games and College Gameday.

I guess it doesn't sound like it was that awesome when I type a quick review, but it was just a perfect day.:)
