Well.....good morning all..

What a hell of a day yesterday.....one hell of a day for sure.

I have been on holidays for the last 9 days with my wife's family. Well, we were at a ski hill on March 2nd (last day of skiing for our group) and my wife's father packed it hard on the mountain. One of his ski's came loose from his boot and sent him flying. He tore the tendon in his left thumb and had internal bleeding. Had to be rushed to hospital and then driven to another hospital about 1 1/2 hours away. All this at 2pm. He was found to have no major damage to his inside, but will need surgery on his thumb within 10 days. He didnt make it back to our place until 4 am of the 24th, and we had to be checked out by 10 am.

But, that was fine, we all got up and got ready to go on our way..........but it couldnt be that easy. We had taken up 3 vehicles to hold the 11 people that were on the trip. The one vehicle decided to lose both reverse and over-drive that morning, and after a little bit of driving, it also lost 1st gear...... So we had to drive at 75km/hr on the highway. About half way through our trip, the alternator and belt decided to crap out on that same truck, so we had to have that fixed up so we could all continue on our way at 75km/hr. So what was supposed to be a 10 hour trip turned out to be a MUCH longer trip.......

We get to Edmonton (about 2 1/2 hours normal highway speed away from my home) and I receive a phonecall from one of my tenants (I have 3 tenants in my basement). It seems one of my tenants decided that she could kill my other tenants cat due to the fact that every since that cat moved in, demons and ghosts had been haunting her (she was obviously high on some sort of drug and seriously tripping out). I have an absolute 0 tolerance for drugs in my house, but this was insane. I cant stop someone from doing drugs, I just do not allow them to be done or held on my property. So she takes a knife and kills my other tenants cat and leaves it outside in the snowbank at the front of my house. Obviously my other tenants is completely devistated about the whole situation and calls me immediately. Unfortunately being 3 hours away, not much I can physically do. I told him to call the cops and have them come and arrest her and have her charged and removed from my premises as I do no longer feel that myself, my family, my other tenants nor my cats are safe at this moment. My tenant calls the cop station, and their response was "We can not come to your house over this situation without proof that this crime was committed". ??????

What the hell?????

My tenant had to physically leave the house, go to the station and make a written statement as to what occurred. Only THEN did they send an officer to my property and arrest the lady. I was then informed that they may not be holding her, and if released, she has a right to access the property.????????

What????

Thankfully that was straightened out (alby not verbally by any of the useless secretaries) and the lady was held over-night in custody and will be released this morning. She cannot come onto this property unless escorted by an officer of the law, and she must have absolutely no contact with my other tenants. Monday morning I have to contact the "Office of the Rentalsman" and have her immediately evicted due to the nature of the situation and crimes committed. She will then have to have a police escort come for her to remove her items off my property within a set time frame.

I was just completely floored by the whole situation.......completely I was floored that the local RCMP branch had ignorant and rude secretaries that offered no help at all to the situation, only aggrivated me by basically stating I could do nothing, and she had all the rights until given a proper eviction notice and sufficient time to remove her items. When I told them that I personally fear for the saftey of myself, my family, my tenants and my cats if she was allowed back upon my property as she was obviously on drugs and had already weilded a knife to kill, she stated there was nothing they could do and that she has a right to come back onto my property as she has a lease with me. If anything further happened then I was to call the Police Department and/or 911. Wow.......what protection. Her statement "We dont prevent crimes, we solve them"

..........................

So yeah, its been a very emotional time. Any one that has a family pet knows exactly what I mean when I say my three cats are like my children.

We finally got home at about 12:30 am this morning after which I had to deal with all this crap. I wanted to give her the "Immediate Eviction Notice" asap, so I drafted it up and went down to the Police Station. As she was currently in lockup, I asked them if they could give her the Notice, and they said they couldnt as it was a civil thing between me and her, I had to personally give it to her at some other point. Other than posting it on her door, I have no idea on how to make sure she gets this notice asap. I did leave a note with the station to let her know upon her released she is to call me immediately. Other than that, I have absolutely no clue on what to do. If I cant locate her to phyically give it to her, how am I to handle this? Thankfully she cant enter my property without a police escort..........I will have to call the Office of the Rentalsman first thing monday morning and file an immediate eviction notice through them and once that occurs, they will have the "Sheriff" assist her onto the property to remove her items. I dont know how long I have to hold onto those items tho.......

So...I finally got to bed at 4 am.................

I woke up at 7 am.

Its gonna be a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg day.

Free agency has opened with a flurry of activity. Already, numerous teams are on the board. Take a glance at the deals, and the potential soon-to-be deals.

Monday, March 5
The Dallas Cowboys reached agreement Monday night with free agent quarterback Brad Johnson on a three-year, $7.5 million deal. Johnson will be reunited with Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, his former teammate in Tampa Bay.

Denver signed former New Orleans free agent guard Montrae Holland.

Indianapolis re-signed linebacker Rob Morris.

Arizona hosted visits with Rams free agent cornerback Travis Fisher, Eagles cornerback Roderick Hood, Cowboys center Al Johnson, Bengals safety Kevin Kaesviharn and Bengals tight end Reggie Kelly.

Kansas City hosted a visit with linebacker Napoleon Harris.

The Jets hosted a visit with Dolphins free agent defensive end David Bowens

San Francisco hosted a visit with Patriots free agent linebacker Tully Banta-Cain

Houston signed free agent wide receiver Charlie Adams.

Seattle signed free agent running back Josh Parry.

The Dolphins have cut both quarterback Joey Harrington and tight end Randy McMichael.

Running back Travis Henry agreed to a five-year contract for $22.5 million that includes $12 million worth of guaranteed money with the Denver Broncos. Henry was scheduled to visit Oakland, Green Bay and the New York Giants and those visits were cancelled after he reached the deal with the Broncos. The Broncos also bolstered their backfield, signing St. Louis free-agent fullback Paul Smith, a special teams maven, to a three-year contract.

St. Louis free-agent WR Kevin Curtis is scheduled to visit the New York Giants on Monday night.

Wide receiver Joe Horn is scheduled to arrive in Atlanta tonight for a visit with Falcons. He is scheduled to have dinner tonight with new Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino. Horn hopes to make a decision within the next 48 hours.

Tampa Bay WR Joey Galloway agrees to a restructured deal, signing a three-year, $7.5 million deal that includes $3.1 million worth of guaranteed money. He was due $2.8 million this year, the new deal calls for him to make $1.2 million in base salary, with a $1.8 million roster bonus payment, and $100,000 workout incentive. Galloway is also now scheduled to make $1.767 million in 2008 and $2 million in 2009. It was quite the busy weekend for the Bucs.

Free-agent quarterback Brad Johnson is visiting the Dallas Cowboys. He's expected to decide between the Cowboys and Broncos by Wednesday.

The Raiders restructured the contract of wide receiver Ronald Curry, who was due a $5 million option bonus payment. Instead, the Raiders signed him to a five-year, $20 million contract, including $8.5 million worth of guaranteed money.

Free-agent cornerback William James (formerly Will Peterson) is scheduled to visit the Saints on Tuesday and Falcons on Wednesday.

Free-agent guard Sean Mahan is visiting the Cleveland Browns on Monday and scheduled to visit the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday.

Cincinnati free-agent TE Reggie Kelly is visiting with the Raiders.

The Bengals re-signed running back Kenny Watson, a good third-down back and special teams ace, to a three-year contract.

Tight end Daniel Graham is scheduled to visit the Seahawks after visiting the Raiders on Sunday and Broncos on Saturday.

Patrick Kerney is wrapping up a visit with Seahawks. He is expected to decide between the Seahawks and Broncos by Tuesday morning.

The Dolphins signed free-agent tight end David Martin, the former Green Bay Packer.

Free-agent running back Travis Henry spent Sunday visiting with the Broncos.


Sunday, March 4
Running back Ahman Green reached agreement on a contract with the Houston Texans. The deal is for $23 million for four years, including $6.5 million guaranteed.

The New Orleans Saints are expected to reach agreement Monday with Cincinnati free-agent linebacker Brian Simmons. The Bengals released Simmons last week, surprising Cincinnati's players. One Bengals veteran called Simmons "our best defensive player."

The Dallas Cowboys reached agreement with free-agent OL Leonard Davis on a seven-year, $49.6 million contract with $18.75 million guaranteed and $24 million in the first three years of the deal. Dallas is still uncertain whether Davis will play at right tackle or right guard.

Cincinnati free-ageny safety Kevin Kaesviharn is scheduled to visit Arizona on Sunday and New Orleans on Monday.

Saturday, March 3
Former Giants TE Visanthe Shiancoe signed with the Minnesota Vikings for $18.5 million over five years.

Free-agent DE Antwan Peek agreed to terms with Browns.

Free-agent wide receiver Ashley Lelie signed a two-year deal with the 49ers for $4.3 million, including a $2 million signing bonus.

Free-agent RB Ahman Green will visit with the Texans. Other visits on Saturday included: Cincinnati tight end Reggie Kelly with the Falcons, Seattle guard Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack with the Falcons, Eagles defensive back Roderick Hood with the Browns, Bengals wide receiver Kelley Washington with the Dolphins and Rams defensive back Travis Fisher with the Redskins.

New England free-agent TE Daniel Graham left Denver and is scheduled to visit Oakland on Sunday.

Dallas free-agent center Al Johnson visited Tampa Bay on Friday and Saturday and is scheduled to visit Arizona on Sunday.

The Titans have released RB Travis Henry rather than pay him the $8.3 million roster bonus due to him. Henry is now scheduled to visit Broncos on Saturday night.

The Lions have signed free-agent DE Dewayne White to a five-year, $29 million deal.

The Patriots plan to sign Miami restricted free-agent wide receiver Wes Welker to a five-year offer sheet worth $18.1 million. Once Welker signs the offer sheet, the Dolphins will have seven days to match it. If they decide not to, they would get the Patriots' second-round draft pick.

The Patriots also signed LB Adalius Thomas as expected. The deal is for $37.5 million for five years, which includes $24 million in the first three years. The Patriots also signed TE Kyle Brady with a two-year, $5.3 million deal.

After visiting Seattle and looking at Cleveland, free-agent guard Kris Dielman opted to re-sign with San Diego, landing a six-year, $39 million deal that included $17 million worth of guaranteed money.

The Buccaneers and free-agent quarterback Jeff Garcia have reached a contract ageement. The deal is similar to the one the Bucs gave Chris Simms.

The Texans have restructured the contract of Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson and extended him. The move frees up cap space and gets their best player committed for a long time.

The Broncos have acquired DT Dan Wilkinson from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a sixth-round pick. Denver plays the same defensive system as Miami, so Wilkinson should have no problem with the transition.

Friday, March 2
The Patriots are expected to sign free agent LB Adalius Thomas and TE Kyle Brady.

The Saints are scheduled to host free agents CB Ken Hamlin and LB Brian Simmons on Saturday.

The 49ers have signed CB Nate Clements to the biggest contract ever given to a defensive player -- eight years, $80 million, including $22 million guaranteed.

Browns have signed OT Eric Steinbach to seven-year contract worth $49.5 million with $17 million guaranteed.

Bills have agreed to terms with guard Derrick Dockery on seven-year deal worth $49 million with $18.5 million guaranteed.

(Note: Last year, Steve Hutchinson deal was worth $49 million for seven years with $16.5 guaranteed. Dockery (guard) matches that, and Steinbach (tackle) just beats it. Both Steinbach and Dockery got more guaranteed money than Hutchinson.)

Also, the Bills and OT Langston Walker have agreed to terms on five-year deal worth approximately $25 million.

Buccaneers have signed free-agent DE Patrick Chukwurah to five-year contract worth $5.5 million with $400,000 guaranteed.

The Falcons have signed FB Ovie Mughelli to a six-year contract worth $18 million, including $5 million guaranteed.

Giants officially sign C Shaun O'Hara.

Free-agent LB Napoleon Harris scheduled to visit the Buccaneers Friday and Chiefs Saturday.

Rams hosted visits with free agents LB Tully Banta-Cain and WR Drew Bennett.

Patriots hosted visits with free agents TE Kyle Brady and RB Sammy Morris.

49ers also played host to free-agents S Michael Lewis.

Browns hosted visit with DE Antwaan Peek.

Redskins hosted visit with free-agent LB London Fletcher. Redskins also scheduled to host visit with CB Fred Smoot today.

Broncos hosted visits with free agents TE Daniel Graham, RB Ahman Green and DE Patrick Kerney, and scheduled to welcome QB Brad Johnson on March 3.

Free-agent RB Dominic Rhodes is scheduled to visit the Giants Friday.

Free-agent G Kris Dielman is scheduled to visit the Seahawks Friday.

Free-agent FB Justin Griffith is scheduled to visit the Bucs Friday.

Free-agent WR Kevin Curtis is scheduled to visit the Vikings Friday and the Lions Saturday.

Quarterback Jake Plummer is expected to retire. The Broncos and Buccaneers had agreed to terms on a trade to send Plummer to Tampa Bay in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick, but the trade would be nullified by Plummer's decision to retire.

Dolphins have released DE Kevin Carter and G Jeno James, the team announced. (Dolphins have yet to release Joey Harrington. His roster bonus is not due until next week, so they have some time.)

The Patriots have released RB Corey Dillon and re-signed RB Heath Evans.

Jets have released QB Patrick Ramsey.

The Lions released TE Marcus Pollard, DT Marcus Bell and DT Tyoka Jackson; The Lions also traded DE James Hall to St. Louis for their second 2007 fifth-round draft choice. Detroit's trade of Dre' Bly to Denver became official.

The Falcons released LB Edgerton Hartwell and LB Ike Reese.

Vikings have released S Tank Williams.

Jimmy......I got rid of alot of my collection a few years back. I used to collect everything I could get my hands on. Now I just focus on Bills, Brewers, Blues, Razorbacks, and NFL HOF. Even with doing that I still have a few things in my collection that I don't want anymore. I have about 8 autographed baseball that just sit around. It is a tough thing to do, but like Rui, I feel great about doing it. Are you looking for anything in trade for the Bigs? I would like a few of them.
