I was just wondering how many of you think Todd cares on what's going on with the release of the Sanders figs. and Do you feel he should come on here and talk about what he's personally trying to do to make things better. Feel free to post what you think.

I would think he does... it's "Todd McFarlane Productions," after all.

Maybe you should have made this a poll......

I think he is fine with using his assistants and using other people as his mouthpiece. He can let them pour the facts on ....us.....the ones that make him richer by the series. He would not comment on this when his has Mark and moderators to speak for him. Besides, he's probably on vacation somewhere, or at a baseball auction, or directing a rock video.

I think a bunch of consultants and IT Idiots blew their wad and convinced TMP that they could handle the traffic, nothing more nothing less. It's assinine to say he doesn't care, this is a big credibility issue, and I am sure they are taking the necessary steps to try to rectify it.

I don't think he cares about this as much as Spawnomite cares about his post count

You know it would be nice for Todd to come on here a little more often then what he has done in the past...:)
Would be nice to here what he has to say on what "WE HAVE TO SAY"..;)
He has moderators oh here to fill us in on some things but it isn't the same as "THE MAN" himself...
But 15 months after the last Deion fiasco and no PREORDER SYSTEM YET...What to hell do I know... :D

I think he has to care about paying for all kinds of programming and new servers and then having them fail as badly as the old ones. He ended up wasting a lot of money on that.

Why should he care ..until there is competition of another kind of sports figure.....I think it would definetly open his eyes if everyone stopped collecting mcfarlane figures..They would end up at Big Lots...Dollar General...Ect...Ect....

I don't think he cares about this Deion fiasco. Had he cared, he would have fixed the problem after the 12" Rice, or the Sharpes, or the Deion 1's, blah blah blah.
As DustyDog just said, he has no real competition, plus, his ego is larger than the price tag of the McGwire ball, and we keep buying his stuff.

Did he? How do we really know that they went out and bought new servers? AND, if they did, they performed more poorly than ANY other release to date. So someone obviously didn't do their homework.
I think if he truly cared, he would have personally made absolute sure that these were going to handle the load.

If you think he doesnt care about the release of the Deions your nuts. That is his money were talking about, and the main reason anyone goes into business is money. He created the fig, set up production, and the whole nine. Now it is time to make money off of the fig. He may not be concerned about how upset we all are, cause bottom line the figs will sell, either released on time or late. We all just get upset cause it doesnt happen on schedule. But like I said we will still drop dimes on them as soon as we can.

I'm going by what TMP folks have said repeatedly over the past many months about what was being done to improve the spawn store. I agree with you, that someone screwed the pooch very badly on this one . . . they've been planning this upgrade for months and it collapsed about as much as a system can collapse.

He shouldnt have to do anything. The situation is resolved, and people continue to complain. Get over it. Its a toy.
Can we finally put this stupid parroted comment to rest?
Yes, we know it's a toy. I don't think anyone here has confused the Deion figures with a respirator, defibrillation machine or bottle of vitamins. We understand that the figures will not cure cancer, reset my atrial fibrillation or relieve anyone's painful rectal itch. Yes, we understand that we can all live without it and yes, oh yes, we do understand that it is a toy.
It's very profound the way you repeated a mindless comment used by many others before you like a parrot in a pet shop. Perhaps you might devote some effort into generating a thought of your own - maybe "Polly wanna cracker?"
The fact is, you idiot parrot, that some people place great value in their hobbies to the point where they spend a lot of time and money on them. These people have contributed a great deal to TMP's success up to now and they have every right to be upset when the company jacks them around repeatedly, as bad as TMP has jacked people around with these repeated spawn store debacles. So, while we all realize that the Deion exclusives will not be the revolutionary cure for AIDS that we hoped they might be, we have every right to complain - loudly - and every right to care about what we choose to invest our discretionary income in.
If you don't like the comments, piss off and stay out of the threads. This problem is a long way from being resolved because we don't know how future exclusives will be dealt with. And as TMP's consumers we have every right to vent our frustrations and apply whatever priority to these - gasp - toys that we choose to apply.

You are very correct sir, and while I am sure that Todd "cares" about the money he has invested in this particular figure, I believe he doesn't care, or cares very little, about how most of us feel about the current situation.
He knows that once they get the actual figures for sale, whether it be through a lottery or dtaright sale, most of us will still buy the figures. So, why would he care that we were temporarily ticked off. Did I lose any sleep over this? NO. Will I? NO. But I do keep checking back here to see if the registration for the figures has been set up yet. And, I keep checking back here to see what others think and feel about this.
THAT is what Todd wants. For us to keep thinking about his product, and ultimately generate even that much more hype about the release, whenever it actually happens.

I'm not sure exactly what your response had to do with the post of mine you quoted, but I'll respond to what you said . . . soooo what you're saying is that Todd believes that pissing off his most dedicated customers actually benefits his business? That's absurd.
I think that he's got to be upset about the money his company has invested in the Spawn store, given that it collapsed every time it was genuinely challenged. But he can't be pleased about the bad taste this has left in many collectors' mouths. Whether he cares or not - beats me. But it's silly to think that he would find it beneficial to his business to store thousands of figures longer than expected, have his company look foolish because it failed again to sell exclusives effectively, and irritate hundreds of collectors.
There's a big difference between generating buzz and generating angry buzz. Ultimately any business will drive its customers away if it continues to make them feel as if they're not valued or if they're continually angered and frustrated by the company's policies. And by the way - if this is going to sell out anyway, regardless how pissed off we all get - why would he care about buzz? It'll sell out anyway, right?
As I said, I don't know if he cares or not about how angry people are here. Given his business success I believe he is, but I never spoke to him so I don't know. The only thing I think I said on that subject was that he had to be upset about the amount of money they invested in the store and how that store has performed.

Thank you, wiley, Andy and Mack. It just plucks my nerves a bit when people get on here, make dozens or hundreds of posts and then tell others that these figures are just toys or pieces of plastic. They're hypocrites, and if they really think of these things as just toys I doubt they'd be making all those posts, let alone spending all that money on "just toys." It's just so condescending, dishonest and stupid.
Besides, I'm hurting from an abscessed tooth and I'm a bit grumpy. LOL
