11-03-2006, 09:19 PM
^Well I'm excited, because now we get to see Alexander Edler. This guy could be something really special. He is a great skater, very good offensively, and from what I saw in the pre-season he's made great strides in his own zone. Could be a "lidstrom-type" player who makes great passes, and stick checks incredibly well.

I saw Edler twice in Jr. and the second time he looked really polished. I think he's going to surprise a lot of you, especially considering no one knew who he was on draft day.

11-03-2006, 10:38 PM
if these injuries continue, I can see a trade made, forward for defense

I predict the score from the Canucks vs Avs game 5 to 3 Canucks. Go Canucks Go. Also there was a rumor that was going around that the Canucks were going to aquire Anton Volchenkov from the Ottawa Sentors, but Nonis said he hasnt talk to John Muckler GM of the Sens.

JOGADOGGZ
11-04-2006, 11:19 AM
I just hope they don't loose anymore d-men to injury, it hurt them late last year and I don't want to see it again, Nonis should really address the depth of there blueline, specially Salo being a UFA at the end of the year they really can't loose another top 2 D guy.

11-04-2006, 03:50 PM
Canucks vs Avs 7 pm tonight on CBC. Go Canucks Go. Beat those Avs.

JOGADOGGZ
11-04-2006, 09:39 PM
I hope i'm not the only one in here that notices that Fitzpatrick is a liablility back on D. The guy has me going off on the boneheaded plays he's making. He's been on the ice on most of the Canucks Goals against this year because of not being able to clear the puck or not being in position. He's lucky the D is thin because when Mitchell and Salo come back he should be in the press box and Edler should be out there instead.

srv2miker
11-04-2006, 09:47 PM
^I agree 100%. Fitzpatrick skates really well, he just never learned how to actually play defense.

UgotPwned
11-04-2006, 10:30 PM
Yeah, i agree, Fitzpatrick is a terrible d men

nucksfan
11-04-2006, 10:42 PM
This is 3 games in a row that Fitzpatrick has cost us, send him to Manitoba already and call up Tremblay when he's healthy. Great game by Edler tonight, looked like a young Nik Lidstrom (early I know, but the same effective stick checking), and I'll bet when Mitchell or Salo get back it'll be fitzpatrick going down

TheBreeze8700
11-04-2006, 11:17 PM
Fitzpatrick was pretty solid in the start but his last games starting with Nashville at home were BRRRRUUUTTAAALL.

However, bright spots were Bieska and Edler, both looked like top 6 Dmen without questions.

Tough loss 2nite, deserved better

JOGADOGGZ
11-05-2006, 12:23 PM
Fitzpatrick is a 6-7 guy back there not top 4, He can't log the long ice time and be effective, but the way Edler played last night he should replace Fitzpatrick when Salo and Mitchell return.

TheBreeze8700
11-05-2006, 04:49 PM
Hopefully Mitchell comes back 2moro night...im pretty happy I sold my single ticket to 2moro nights game for like 60 bucks on ebay. :P

11-05-2006, 11:41 PM
i read the rumor was Mo for Volchenkov OR Schubert, this is clearly a much needed slary dump, too bad it had to be Mo

JOGADOGGZ
11-05-2006, 11:54 PM
Is that from sportsnet Hockey Hearsay or something??

TheBreeze8700
11-06-2006, 12:35 AM
Sportsnet.ca has an article about it....but someone told me Fisher and Volchenkov which is clearly too much for Mo. lol

JOGADOGGZ
11-06-2006, 01:29 PM
yah I saw that and someone brought it up on the Team 1040 this morning. I can't see Mo going anywhere simply because of his salary and it wouldn't make sense to trade him since there only scoring 2 goals a game.

flesh_gordon
11-10-2006, 11:42 AM
Brew, Aquilini said in the paper today that a new jersey/logo is a definite possibility.

This team is looking a lot like last year's flames, no offence and just praying that the Goalie can steal the game EVERY night.

11-10-2006, 12:00 PM
we must have the same article, Brad Ziemer for CanWest news? :)

Luckily for last year's Flames, our D stayed *relatively* healthy, and helped Kipper to the Vezina .. The Nucks are treating Luongo the same way the Panthers treated him.

flesh_gordon
11-10-2006, 12:23 PM
can't remember... probably very likely :D

yeah, Though with his 7 mil I can't feel too sorry for him. but the D REALLY needs to step up now. especially since they know they aren't scoring much.

1-1 after 2 periods but the story lately is the Canucks always find a way to loose!:o Luongo's keeping them in so far but.....

3-1 Detroit Final is my prediction:(

madchild1978
11-14-2006, 10:04 PM
and Luongo lets in a five hole goal...... He needs to step it up just like the rest of them do. This team is playing to the level they are supposed to this year. A team that misses the playoffs. :(

nucksfan
11-14-2006, 10:29 PM
A+ for effort, Bieksa had a great game, but Loungo can't let in the softies. He'll get better, first time in the west, he'll get better. Boy Naslund is really snakebitten. All try, no results, like against Calgary, he had about 6 really good chance and was stopped on half of them by Andrew ference.

JOGADOGGZ
11-14-2006, 10:53 PM
What can you do? i can't see them fairing much better for the rest of the month. If they can some how beat St Louis and Chicago. They still have Detroit again next week, Nashville, Anaheim?? Right now I can imagine what's going on in the dressing room. Alot of tension and frustration, Guys squeezing there sticks too hard...Somethings gotta change, and Honestly you can't teach grinders like Burrows,Green,Kesler,Cooke,Chouinard to score. The only line effective and dangerous is the IKEA line but they can't play 60 mins a game like in NHL 07.... Nonis is hooped!!

nucksfan
11-15-2006, 12:35 AM
he has to move someone that makes more than 2 mil, maybe a couple of guys in order to free up the space for next season. We can kiss Salo goodbye unless he trades Naslund. Salo will want Ohlund money which is 4 mil per year. Can you imagine spending 12 mil a season on your top 3 d-men, who would score then? I hate to say it but Nonis may have to move Salo while his stock is high and hopefully get a good prospect in return. As for Naslund, I hate the way the fans on the radio are saying we should trade him, he's given up or he's dogging it, this is the best I have seen Nazzy play in 3 years, he's playing both end of the ice, but like the rest of the team the puck is just not going in. If he and the Twins would have stayed together he would be up around 10-15 goals already, look at the chances he gets when he plays with them, it's only a matter of time.

JOGADOGGZ
11-15-2006, 07:51 PM
This is going to be a rough month for Vancouver, with the team still getting used to each other and a new coach, it might be a while until we see consistency. But I'm optimistic they'll work there way out of this slump and get back on track next month.

TheBreeze8700
11-15-2006, 08:11 PM
Luongo kept us in the Detriot game, but that softie was brutal. I can't stand what some of the idiots around were saying though about him after that 1 goal and also considering he stood on his head last night.

Its quite frustrating honestly, but seriously guys we just gotta keep truckin and keep up the optimism. We should hammer off 4 points in the next 2 home games. Hopefully we can get back to how we were playing early in the season.

Keep ya heads up

I have a bad feeling about tonight guys. That Blue Jacket team is loaded with talent, and they have an extra boost with the new coach. They took out Minnesota rather easily and the Wild is a better team than us.

I predict a 3 to 1 loss :(

11-28-2006, 07:40 PM
Nonis needs to make another deal for a power guy up front to play with Naslund. As much fun as it is to watch the Ikea line, I'm starting to realize the Sedins are only second liners who can only play around 15 minutes a game. Something needs to be done soon!

JOGADOGGZ
11-28-2006, 09:40 PM
As much as we want a trade to get this player or that player, its not going to happen now or even in the near future. Canucks fans just have to stomach this low scoring defensive minded system. Nonis built this team around Defence that's why he put all his eggs in one basket on Luongo,Mitchell...we just have to face it guys its going to be long sub par .500 season. Get used to getting blown out or 2-1,3-2 games :(

That comment was my first thought as soon as I seen the hit. Maybe not about every Canucks fan but when that was a hot topic, many of you justified what Bert did just because Naslund took a hit. Thats who the comment was aimed at.

The Stars aren't going to win one with Turco in net, he chokes come playoffs time, But the Canucks are lacking that grit, I think there's too many wimps on this Edition of the Canucks team.

Shut up hey ? TJLoser ? Youre a bright one Breeze. PS. Anyone who bothers to take a second to realize that in that season , if you have posession of the puck, or if it goes in the crease first, its fair game. So it was legit. And Brett Hull's 89 year old foot is better than anyone's foot that ever stepped into a skate to play for your team.

Madchild, who was gettin serious ? You were pokin fun the Stars have no thread, and I was pokin fun that the Canucks have no Cup, thats not livin in the past.

You can have your cool thread, we'll take our Stanley Cup. Have you ever bothered to win one of those ?
That comment was my first thought as soon as I seen the hit. Maybe not about every Canucks fan but when that was a hot topic, many of you justified what Bert did just because Naslund took a hit. Thats who the comment was aimed at.

"Your" Cup? I'm sorry, is that you Mr. Modano? It's "your" nothing, especially any loser from Alberta who can't even have the good sense to cheer for a local team. Christ you were probably only 10 when they won the cup anyway. Come back when you become a real fan.

excuse me srvr2miker ? a real fan ? ive been a stars fan for over 20 years now and i was actually 20 when they finally won it. and why the he** would i cheer for my hometeam ? is that the law? i realized there was other teams out there other than the oilers. and ya, it's " our " cup, just like the canucks are " your " loser team. although i wouldnt admit it. and breeze, you keep writin back aswell, so whats your point ? the truth is, i look down on you losers for having such a garbage franchise whos never won a thing and never will and nothing you try to come back with can change that. the truth hurts.thats why you losers sound so angry. i guess 35 years of losing will do that to ya. ha ha.

all this because me and someother dude made 1 or 2 jabs at eachother ,all of a sudden idiots like you try to step in and use such briliance like the " tjloser " comment and "shut up" .what a winner you must be. then you say im not man enough to leave it, yet you're on here yourself ? see what im saying ? so although ive had fun doing this, its going nowhere and i'll leave you alone with your losing ways. life wise, intelligence wise, and team wise.just know that from now on when your crappy @zz Canucks lose, which they will do often, I'm laughing at you.the truth hurts, thats why you keep trying to come back yet have nothing real to say.later ya crybaby.

Guys, got some Canucks tickets for sale for this Friday night vs CAROLINA HURRICANES. I got some lower bowl tickets for my birthday, so obviously the upper bowl seats I had need to go. They are section 315 I think, I know they are row 10 and on the blueline, sec 315 or 316. I paid $150 for them , and would like to get around $125 but am open to fair offers. PM me if interested. Remember, Carolina only comes once every 4 years so this is the only chance to see STAAL for the forseeable future! :)

There are all these coulda/ shoulda/ woulda issues surrounding this team. Should they have gotten rid of Crawford if upper management knew all the changes that would take place this summer? Should they have hired AV?

For me, the biggest one is still Stan McCammon not renewing Brian Burke's contract simply because Burke went over his head and spoke with McCaw about re-signing Bertuzzi.

I have a bad feeling that the Canucks need to enter the re-building stage .... yet again!

I have that feeling too, but i dont think its going to happen, once the off season comes I think Nonis will know what direction to take with this team, with Kesler's contract ending, Salo,Bulis,Cooke, they'll either keep some of these guys for cheap and let them walk and Nonis will know who to sign come the off-season. This year was a trial and error year I dont think next year will be.

That would of been a great game to watch live back and fourth and all that scoring...wow....I thought the Canucks had it in the bag at 4-2, the flames woke up again but only to loose in OT. Sedins look dominant against the Flames controlling the play in the offensive zone.

I am honestly shocked the Canucks won 2 in a row vs Calgary....however, did anyone else noticed what was talked about in earlier threads? Mattias Ohlund taking stupid, undisciplined penalties (3 of them to be exact). That guy is a rock on D, but man he needs to figure out that what worked 3 years ago in the NHL doesnt now. Always when the Canucks have the lead too. I think he has Jarkko Ruutu syndrome.

I remember when the Oilers were struggling at the beginning of December and they didn't have Smtty and Hemsky and they came in to GM place and stoned the Canucks. MacT isn't a bad coach. The Oilers are just underperforming and Roli is very tired. I guess the only thing I question is MacT's decision to consistently play Roli when the guy was used to splitting a season with another goalie.

That being said, Go Canucks Go! This streak is long overdue. It looks like they're actually starting to gel.

I'm not one to respond back to guys like you but when you get the facts all wrong I feel it necessary to show you the road of life and maybe you will think before you tpe next time.

If you would read the facts of what was posted on the thread by myself and others, the comment/s were directed at Iggy being out and being happy the Oilers lost. For a Canuck fan these are both good things as Iggy is a great player and he has had the Canucks number for quite a while of course Calgary hasn't played too well against the canucks this year but I won't go down that road. As for the Oilers loss this was another plus for the Canucks to put some space in between them and the Oilers. I have no clue what your talking about piping in about being on other threads. Threads are an open door to read, comment and get involved such as you just have. Hockey is my business and a big part of my life and I am a fan of many players and teams some I hold in a higher regard than others. You talk about hypocrites! Lighten up, grow up, learn to read, learn to take a punch and lean about team rivalries. You will see me on this thread and tons of others.

I don't mean to challenge you, I just thought it as important to ensure that you understand the facts and explain how you make yourself look. Learn the rules of the playground before you play as ignorance is not an excuse. Be cool brother! :D :)

You couldn't of stated any better than that my friend. ;)

Thank you and Tjcurrie if you plan to be posting on threads being a Dallas fan and can't take hits then don't bother visting threads. I can't stop you from going into this thread here and expressing what you want to talk about. But don't be crying if somebody is going to be dogging you.

Your streak was never in jeopardy as long as we still have MacTavish as our head coach.

The oilers don't need to be firing anybody or trading right now, there a solid team hitting a slump much like the Canucks did in November going 6-10 that month. The Oilers have been playing better since those blow outs and its just a matter or getting past these mental break downs. I knew the oilers would bounce back and play better they almost had it too. They just have to stick with there system and sooner or later they will get through this. Put it this way at least there getting points and not digging them selves a hole.

Hey, I can take hits as much as anybody else. But when I come on saying " hey guys, my Stars won again " or say that they outplayed the Oilers, then I get every idiot jumping in saying to get lost and gettin personal and all that crap, I just gotta point out what babies they are. It seems theyre the ones who cant take hits. Ive always said its all in fun, but they seem to take things to heart. Read up on whats being said before you comment buddy.

Well I have to say the Canucks looked really good last night. Your team looks like they have everyone on the same page right now.

They are coming together quite nicely right now but its still a long year and it took them this long to put together a nice string like this. I'm still not convinced simply because they haven't beaten top teams yet. When I see them beat Anaheim, Nashville then i'll believe. I'm not gonna get too high on their wins or too low if they loose. All I am waiting for is come April time.

The patch was for a Garth Brooks charity auction. Check out www.meigray.com

The game was fairly boring for the most part, only the end was really good.

:p LMAO!!!

Canucks clearly did not play well and Luongo wasn't as sharp as he usually is but hey that's 7 in a row now!! When things are going well they just get them in anyway. :)

The Team needs these 3 days off to rest until Minny comes in Thursday.

Hopefully we can pick up at least 2 wins in our next 3 games vs. eastern teams.

We win 8 of 9 yet we're still in the middle of the pack in the Northwest, you've gotta hate our division.

Yah our division is super tight, its not helping either that Minnesota is starting to win on the road now.
