Has anyone looked at the Vizio VW22L from Walmart? I decided to pick it up and give it a shot as I'm looking for a 22" LCD tv to use as a bedroom tv and double as a PC monitor. So far, having it hooked up to the PS3 it looks pretty decent, a little better than my larger Vizio.

Never seen, heard of, or knew about "The Fall". I might have to look into it now. I wish it came out this coming week though as this coming week is kind of a slow week. Aside from the Marvel movies and Transformers I didn't see anything worth getting.

Technically you're right. There was a discussion when this happened, though, and a few people made a valid point that having it there would draw all sorts of unwanted traffic to it and kinda kill the nice "community"-type thing we have going here.

I think a bigger deal is being made about being moved to the BST board then needs to be.
Are we going to stop visiting the thread, no.
Are we going to stop posting in the thread, no.
Would we be able to trade and sell our HD Stuff, yes.
It's not a big deal. Tons of boardies are not going to all of the sudden rush in and try to scam us once the thread is moved. To think that the reason that isn't happening now is simply because the thread resides on the "Movie" board is a bit ignorant, isn't it?

Perhaps. To me, though, the general B/S/T board just doesn't seem like the place for this thread, it's almost all toys and superhero action figures.
But whatever, I'll just go with the flow...whatever the majority of you guys want to do is fine.

Just watched the new Dark City director's cut on Blu Ray a few days ago and it was breath taking. The visuals and the characters are just awesome and made me fall in love with the movie all over again. The new added scenes and seconds added on to scenes really makes the movie better and adds little details that bring even more life to the characters. It was so worth the extra $10 for the blu ray over the dvd!

Joe said that he didnt want people just coming in here and posting things for sale. He said he knew who contributes to this thread in more ways and who doesnt. From what I got from his comments those of us that post here and discuss daily can occasionally post items for b/s/t. He just doesnt want everyone under the sun doing it.

Watched Doomsday. It wasn't bad. The first hour was good but it really slowed down when !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the whole medievel thing started up. It was pretty lame. There was a decent fight there but other than that it just slowed down the pace of the movie imo. I think it would have been a better movie without the whole modern medievel thing and just focused on the neo-punk angle. Nice to see the violence factor was pretty high. Reminded me of Escape From New York, as well as Mad Max and 28 Weeks Later. It was decent. 6/10

WOW! Family Video just JACKED UP their prices today!
From 0 B.C. until yesterday:
I just thought I would illustrate how Amazon's prices are hardly competitive these days:
Amazon vs. Family Video
Godfather Trilogy $74.95 $64.35
Iron Man $27.95 $25.30
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull $27.95 $25.30
Omen Collection $89.95 $78.65
Heroes Season One $69.95 $64.35
Universal Pictures' Halloween Starter Set $41.95 $37.35
Universal Pictures Unrated Comedy Collection $53.95 $51.35
Ray Harryhausen Collection $74.95 $63.85
1408 $20.95 $17.34
Stephen King's The Mist $23.95 $20.34
Austin Powers Collection $51.95 $43.34
If you are someone like me who purchases a lot of Blu-ray discs, then the combined savings of $67 on the titles listed above is a very big deal. Add to that the cost of a Prime Membership, which is roughly $80 and Amazon is no longer a bargain. They are only good for the occasional sale on the same regurgitated 200 titles.
Family Video ships promptly and your total order is only charged $1.99 for shipping. Currently, you can use the code "GAMEPRO7" and they will waive the shipping fee. That's right, free and quick delivery.
One of the few price advantages that Amazon can boast for pre-orders is the exclusive Kill Bill 2-Pack which is $39.95 vs. $45.70 ($22.85 for each film) via Family Video.
Starting today:
Here's an update to your list.
Amazon vs. Family Video
Godfather Trilogy $74.95 $71.99
Iron Man $27.95 $27.99
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull $27.95 $27.99
Omen Collection $89.95 $87.99
Heroes Season One $69.95 $71.99
Universal Pictures' Halloween Starter Set $41.95 $41.99
Universal Pictures Unrated Comedy Collection $53.95 $57.99
Ray Harryhausen Collection $74.95 $71.99
1408 $20.95 $19.99
Stephen King's The Mist $23.95 $22.99
Austin Powers Collection $51.95 $48.99
If you bought all these, Family Video would save you $6.56 with free shipping. Big difference from saving $67.00 a few days ago.

I agree. We have NEVER abused it but I think when someone posted Wii and Wii fit pissed some people off. (which I dont know why)
I say move it to B/S/T so we can sell and trade movies or Wii's Ps3's whatever. I think thats a big part of this thread. Helping each other out finding movies deals.
Either here or in stores. This is were I found Wii Fit or I would have never found it.
Lets face it not to many deals out there to be found.
What do others think? Keep it here and not trade/sell or move it so we can trade/sell.
Vote now :D
My vote is to move it.

I still have 30 of them, you never contacted me when I got back from my last hunt on them. I sent you a PM saying "yeah I didn't come up with any but I've still got like 30 of them". And you were like "cool". Perhaps "cool, can I have 10 of them" would have moved things to the next step.

lol...I'm pretty sure, like 99.2% sure, that I asked what you wanted for like 10 of them?
And all you said was, "yea...I went looking at the third store...and didn't find anymore". I took that as "sorry...you're shlt out of luck because I didn't find any extras". You never mentioned anything about what you wanted for the 10 I previously asked for.
Either way...I'm still in need of a few of them. 10 would be plenty.
And the Conan game on the PS3 was easily worth $20. If you liked Heavenly Sword...you'll like this. I recommend getting it if you can get it for $20. Some people say it's way too hard.....but you just have to get used to using block...and countering (similar to Heavenly Sword). Like HS, it also has different fighting combos.....single handed, with a shield, dual weapons, double handed sword. You can pick up all sorts of weapons in he game....my favorite is to dual weild battle axes. The final boss made me come closer to shattering my controller against the wall then any other PS3 game has. I was cursing up a storm.

I'm all for controversial endings, but what was the point of this one? It just seemed so unnecessary. One of the early reviewers put it very well. It seemed like it was done just for the sake of doing it.
*********MAJOR SPOILER************************************
I don't necessarily agree that it stayed with the "flow" of the film, either. The father and son and the other two go through all this hardship, all this trouble to escape from the growing religious cult/followers and the monsters, only to cap themselves because they think they're doomed? And then Thomas Jane realizes it was the military anyway? Creative and different, yes. But it seemed really weak to me.
***************END SPOILER********************************
Also, the woman who played the religious fanatic was way too good of an actress. I hate her character so much, another reason I wouldn't want to view the movie again.
Some were knocking on The Mist's special effects but I thought they were pretty good. Some good gore, and I always enjoy watching Thomas Jane, so the movie is definitely entertaining and worth a rent.
But those two reasons would keep me from ever wanting to own it.

Where is my WBA?
Welcome to WBA 101. Class is in session.....
Let's be very clear about this:
Disney only owns the American theatrical cuts of the films. That's it, that's all they can release on Blu-ray. That's all they will release on Blu-ray.
The Japanese theatrical cuts are owned by Universal, who only have distribution rights to the movie in that country. At the present time, Universal Japan has made no indication that they plan to release the movie on Blu-ray there.
The "Whole Bloody Affair" version of the movie(s) is still vaporware. If it ever does get released, it will be owned by The Weinstein Company, not by Disney. Weinstein has made no indication of when (if ever) this will be released, or on what formats it may be released on.
http://forums.highdefdigest.com/blu-ray-software-general-discussion/65037-1st-review-kill-bill-vol-1-2-robert-harris-thoughts-3.html
The version of Kill Bill Vol. 1 with the color fight scene is not a "pre-rating version". It's a cut of the film that Tarantino prepared specifically for the Japanese market. Instead of the "Ancient Klingon Proverb" at the beginning, it opens with a dedication to 'Battle Royale' director Kinji Fukasaku. That version of the movie is only licensed for distribution in Japan.
As much as people assume that the House of Blue Leaves scene switches to black & white at the demand of the MPAA, that sequence was actually meant as an homage to '70s kung-fu movies such as 'Heroes Two', which aired on American TV with similar transitions to tone down the violence of their action scenes. That's exactly the sort of obscure genre reference that Tarantino thrives on. He plays against the "toning down" effect by making the scene as ridiculously over-the-top violent as he can, such that even in black & white it could never get past a TV censor. It's the conflict between these two opposing forces that gives the scene its dynamic tension.
Since Japanese TV censors never altered those kung-fu movies like that, the Japanese audience wouldn't get the joke, so Tarantino presented the scene in really garish colors, which instead becomes an homage to the B-movie work of Japanese directors like Seijun Suzuki.

One of my favorite 80s flicks...Lucasfilm needs to get off their ass and release this already.
On another note, Steve Gerber the creator of Howard passed away earlier this year. There's an interesting history to how Marvel was sued by Disney over the likeness to Donald Duck. Marvel relented and altered the look of Howard to appease Disney, which Gerber resented ever since.

I was a child of the 80's but always felt as if the Transformers were ***. I don't know, everyone else had their cars that transformed into giant pieces of crap. I had GI Joes, Ghostbusters, and Ninja Turtles....all insanely more cool then Transformers.
But thats besides the point, honestly I don't think I've seen a movie in the last 2-3 years that I didn't see on Blu-ray. I'm a high def snob. I don't go to the movies (hate prices/teenagers/babies/sticky shoes) and I despise renting. So all that leaves is either Blu-ray or Starz/HBO/Showtime/etc.
I absolutely love comic book movies and I still haven't seen Iron Man, Hulk, or Hellboy yet. Pirates of the Caribbean was arguably one of my favorite movies of all time and I didn't see 2 or 3 until they came out on Blu-ray. Never saw a Harry Potter movie until they all came out on Blu-ray late last year. The list goes on and on. I guess you could say I either just have a ton of patience or I'm a huge Blu-ray fanboy. Call it how you see it but I have no problems waiting a year, even two to see a movie as long as I know it's coming to Blu-ray.
Aside from the Dark Knight....I didn't have the patience to wait on that one.

ugh...i'd like to own Daywatch and Nigh****ch, but I guess I'm passing on them Tuesday. It's so hard to drop $28-$30 each when you can get the DVD's for literally 10% of that cost. For as often as I'd watch them....especially Daywatch....I'll have to wait until I can get them both for about $28.
Have you already seen both?
I've never seen them....but I'm interested in seeing them. Don't think I'd drop $60 though. From the limited trailers I have seen of the movies...it looks good. But then again...."Jumper" looked good from the previews.

Did anyone see Forbidden Kingdom...what's the verdict on that one as a movie?

Yes, I've seen both.
Night watch was awesome imo from start to finish.
Day watch was pretty good, but had some pacing problems. For me, the ending made up for it and made me want to watch it again...but not for $30.
Night watch, if the PQ reviews come back 4/5 or better, is probably worth it and I'll cave and get it.

Just finished Under Siege 2.
Yeah.....can't say I'd recommend it for the PQ, AQ or the movie itself. Damn this movie hasn't aged well. Lol.
Although Seagal does have such winners as, "Nobody beats me in the kitchen."
Seriously PQ is decent at best. Audio is only DD, so it does what it can. The movie, what can I say, add it to my long list of guilty pleasures.

I saw this one a while back. It's a very coolstylized movie with lots of Kung FU type action and the special effects are very nice. IMO, it's a must have for Jacki and Jet fans. Very entertaining.
