Yours "should" come a little fast than everyone else's (as should everyone's that asked for 2) as I have to send them small packet air mail. I believe the last movies I sent like that to Jaylis took less than a week to arrive.
Do I owe you more then?

If your item hasn't shipped or isn't "shipping soon" there should be an option to "view or change order" on your account screen.
Meh, I just cancelled it. I was just trying to get some more stuff to flip, but given that it was still on sale (and still is) I'm assuming they won't move at a price to make worth while to me.
Thanks though.

Got Dark Knight at Best Buy's midnight release. Here's a recap of the event with a couple of videos:
http://www.nerdsociety.com/2008/12/09/dark-knight-midnight-release-blu-ray-afterthought/
First impression of the Blu Ray:
This is a disappointing release for the biggest movie of 2008. The IMAX scenes(1.85 format, fills the whole widescreen tv) are really clear but there's some edge enhancements. Most of the movie is in 35mm, 2.35 format and the quality is even worse. It's still better than DVD but edge enhancement is still apparent. The blacks are really dark and you lose the shade of blacks. Some shots that were well lit in the movie theatres now looks like silhouette, especially the Hong Kong and the armored car chase scenes. The audio is also average, lacks the tightness that Wanted had. The surrounds were too loud compared to the center. The early reviews from fans were right: quality could have been better.

Big week for me for blu-rays thanks to some gift cards.
So far I've picked up Out For Justice ($10), Tropic Thunder, Home Alone and Step Brothers. Today it's Super Troopers, TDK, Shawshank and probably Dodgeball, with Dumb and Dumber on the way from Amazon.
Plus my 6 movies from that Amazon deal shipped yesterday!

TDK Steelbooks are in hand. FYI, they must have had about 300 copies at my closest Futureshop.
I may have an extra 6 copies available for sale later today. Sorry, I still don't have totals as something has come up, but hopefully later today if all goes well. I still hope to get as many copies as possible in the mail tonight.

This is why you are so naive Sbrooks. Have you ever played the game Fallout3? It's a game based on what would happen if nuclear war broke out. If theres anything that I've learned from that game it's that if a bomb hits a city everything plastic within that city will melt almost immediately.
So you ask "why do people love steelbooks?". It's simple. Ask yourself this Sbrooks...should a nuclear war break out are your Blu-rays safe? And unless you have steelbooks the answer to that is no.

This post seems to pretty much confirm it. I don't think there is a whole lot of difference in laid-off versus fired in this case. It just sounds nicer, but means the same. I guess fired implys you did something wrong to get released, whereas laid-off just means they didn't need you anymore.
Regardless, both mean they are no longer with TMP.

There prices at my TRU are not to far off from CC or Target prices. Few bucks.
You can not go by online prices.
They had Dark Knight for $29.99 which is only $3.00 more then CC..
Tinker bell I think was $24.99 and CC has it for $34.99
So not to bad if you need those movies.
Yeah I know there are better deals on-line but I am just posting deals thats all..

I'm going need SBrooks to back me up on this statement, but the audio seriously made me want to french kiss my receiver.
I know people (including me) always say they feel sorry for people still stuck in DVD-land, but for those people who are trying to recreate the experience of seeing this movie at home on a DVD, they are seriously, seriously missing out.
Don't get me wrong, the video is very good. Not the "pop" of Iron Man or Prince Caspian, but very good for the mood of the movie. But the audio is near flawless imo.

for some reason the audio of the clowns in the first dialog spoken in the movie was cutting out on first viewing.... I hit the rewind and the same thing happened....after going back a few times it stopped doing it.... very weird
I will say this re: video/pq .... I want the best pq possible of course when buying HD but I will say I don't think I have ever seen a tier 0 print in a cinema as there are always flaws to be seen on the screen. I believe I have come as close as I ever will to a tier 0 experience via home theater viewing , maybe not this movie but I'm sure there were more flaws with the theatrical print than there are viewable to me here

I'm watching it right now and I've been thinking to myself how this is honestly the first Dolby TrueHD track that's really impressed me. In fact, it's almost tricked me a few times into thinking it's a DTS-HD MA track, it's really that damn good. One of the best I've ever heard.
As for the PQ, I hope filmmakers can find a way to film an entire movie like this entirely in IMAX soon because on my 60" Pioneer Kuro plasma, the IMAX scenes here are absoutely perfection. Easily the best picture quality I've ever seen. Unfortunately the non-IMAX scenes (95% of the movie) don't fare as well. I can spot significant edge enhancement applied throughout the movie. And you can see it easily at the 1:29:26 mark looking at the outline of Batman's mask against the background.
Other than that it's a pretty flawless Blu-ray. The IMAX scenes just blow me away though.

well I guess than that is the beauty of not being able to recognize EE because I looked at that exact time mark scene and could see nothing out of the ordinary from my viewing area.
Maybe it is a limitation of your display or I guess your eyes are just adjusted to see things mine aren't

I agree with all of this, significant EE when Gordon is in Dent's office as well. But, really, it doesn't detract that much for me. The IMAX stuff is gorgeous though, absolute perfection is right! The IMAX scenes, the 1.78:1 stuff, is the best PQ I've ever seen on BD or HD-DVD as well.

Thought it was interesting that C-net posted this. Hopefully, more people read it.
In the bustle of holiday shopping, it's easy to be persuaded by the salesperson at your local retailer that you need to buy a $50 HDMI cable to make your new gear work. They might say the expensive cable "supports faster speeds," "has better video quality," or that "cheap cables don't support 1080p"--pretty much anything to get you to throw that high-margin HDMI cable in your shopping cart. But the truth is that expensive HDMI cables aren't worth it and the cheap cables available online are just as good. In fact, our guide to HDMI cables says this in bold, at the top of the page:
CNET strongly recommends cheap HDMI cables widely available from online retailers instead of the expensive counterparts sold in your local electronics store.
The full guide explains all the reasons in detail, but the main takeaway is that you should never pay more than $10 for a standard 6-foot HDMI cable. Cheap HDMI cables can be found all over the Web--we've had good experiences with both Monoprice and Amazon. Then you can take the money you saved and get some gear that's actually worth it--check out CNET's Holiday Gift Guide for suggestions.

The Dark Knight Blu Ray sold approximately 600,000 copies on Day 1 at retail .Previous record was 250,000 for Iron Man. TDK DVD and Blu sold 3 million combined , giving BD a 20% share of TDK media sales.
Sales of next-generation Blu-ray discs alone totaled 600,000 on the first day, leading Warner Brothers to project Blu-ray sales will total 1 million by Saturday. In a surprise, Blu-ray sales were especially strong at grocery stores, indicating that the format is broadening beyond early adopters to more mainstream buyers, notably women.
“Numbers like these in this economic environment firmly establish Blu-ray as where consumers are headed,” said Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Brothers Home Entertainment. To compare, “Iron Man” held the previous single-day sales record for Blu-ray discs with about 250,000 sold.

To me, this shows that those not effected as much by the recession are moving to BD.
3 million DVDs in a day this close to the holiday season wouldn't be considered terrific would it? I mean didn't TFs do much better day 1? I know they sold about 8 million DVDs when all was said and done.

It's funny that they assume it's wives or women buying TDK at grocery stores. However, if that is the case, I'm guessing they were all trying to do something nice and surprise their husbands without knowing all their husbands were picking it up at Best Buy during their lunch break at work at the same time.

That is a shame, especially those sales reps who push the pricier ones on unsuspecting customers.
It really does pay to do your homework.
Is there really NO differance with picture or sound when using a cheap $8 HDMI cable vs. a $60 one? I heard someone saying its a digital signal so either you get it or you dont. that the quality is NO different. I personally put this to the test with a HDMI cable I was told to get from monoprice..then I used a $49.99 Monster cable one they push for the PS3..which my girlfriend bought me. This test was just to compare the picture quality of the 2 cables. I'm using a PS3 and 46" 1080p Sony Bravia KDL46v4100. I switched the cables back and forth a few times checking BD and different games..looked pretty much the same, until I turned the PS3 back on with the monoprice cables..right when the XMB is loading up I and there was a black background..i was up close and saw like light waves of lines..hard to explain and when the movie is playing or theres a light screen you cant tell. When I swapped to the monster cables it was crystal clear..rich dark background.
So from here on out I guess Im gonna be labled the sucker for spending and extra $40 bucks on cables.;)

There is no difference. A working HDMI cable is a working HDMI cable. $6, $100, gold-plated or The Dark Knight-steelbook-plated.
All the same.

almost true......
HDMI 1.1:
Support for DVD Audio.
HDMI 1.2:
Adds features and capabilities that increase HDMI's appeal for use in both the CE and PC industries. Specifically, the features and modifications for HDMI 1.2 include: Support for One Bit Audio format, such as SuperAudio CD's DSD (Direct Stream Digital), changes to offer better support for current and future PCs with HDMI outputs, including: availability of the widely-used HDMI Type A connector for PC sources and displays with full support for PC video formats, ability for PC sources to use their native RGB color space while retaining the option to support the YCbCr CE color space, requirement for HDMI 1.2 and later displays to support future low-voltage (i.e., AC-coupled) sources, such as those based on PCI Express I/O technology.
HDMI 1.2a:
Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) features and command sets and CEC compliance tests are now fully specified.
Creation of version 1.2a of the HDMI Compliance Test Specification (CTS), which includes a CEC Supplement. HDMI CTS 1.2a has been updated for technical consistency with HDMI Specification 1.2a as well as to the recently released HDMI Specification 1.2.
Significantly, CTS 1.2a contains additional cable and connector testing and Authorized Testing Center (ATC) submission requirements. Specifically, under CTS 1.2a, the Adopter shall submit for testing to the ATC any new HDMI cable whose length exceeds previously tested cables.
Additionally, HDMI Licensing, LLC will maintain a list of approved connectors. For a device to pass CTS 1.2a testing at an ATC, all connectors on such device must appear on the approved connector list. To add a connector to this list, the vendor must submit to the ATC or HDMI Licensing, LLC full and passing testing results.
HDMI 1.3:
Higher speed: HDMI 1.3 increases its single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of future HD display devices, such as higher resolutions, Deep Color and high frame rates. In addition, built into the HDMI 1.3 specification is the technical foundation that will let future versions of HDMI reach significantly higher speeds.
Deep Color: HDMI 1.3 supports 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths, up from the 8-bit depths in previous versions of the HDMI specification, for stunning rendering of over one billion colors in unprecedented detail.
Broader color space: HDMI 1.3 adds support for “x.v.Color™” (which is the consumer name describing the IEC 61966-2-4 xvYCC color standard), which removes current color space limitations and enables the display of any color viewable by the human eye.
New mini connector: With small portable devices such as HD camcorders and still cameras demanding seamless connectivity to HDTVs, HDMI 1.3 offers a new, smaller form factor connector option.
Lip Sync: Because consumer electronics devices are using increasingly complex digital signal processing to enhance the clarity and detail of the content, synchronization of video and audio in user devices has become a greater challenge and could potentially require complex end-user adjustments. HDMI 1.3 incorporates automatic audio synching capabilities that allows devices to perform this synchronization automatically with total accuracy.
New HD lossless audio formats: In addition to HDMI’s current ability to support high-bandwidth uncompressed digital audio and all currently-available compressed formats (such as Dolby® Digital and DTS®), HDMI 1.3 adds additional support for new lossless compressed digital audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

Not... I picked up this player for $99.97 2 nights ago at Futureshop with the 3 free movies.
I finally set it up last night... it's a cheap player, that's for sure, but it will do for $100. I will relegate it to the bedroom when I can get a good brand name player at a better price.
Wall-E did look pretty fantastic though... if you just plan on watching movies, the PQ is stellar.
I can provide you with a photo of the receipt if you'd like to price match it at your local FS. :)
FYI, I'm told FS is pretty desperate to dump these things... you should be able to get it for $100 easy especially with the photo of the receipt. When I bought mine, I was offered the last two for $180 if I'd take them off their hands.

Monoprice is messing with my brain.
It says: HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Cable 28AWG - 6ft w/Ferrite Cores (Gold Plated Connectors) - BLACK
Then it tells me about quantity/price break down:
Quantity ... Our Price
1 ... $4.74
2 - 9 ... $4.36
10 - 19 ... $3.98
20 - 49 ... $3.61
50+ ... $3.23
And then the HTML header of the page says HDMI cables for only $3.23 each!
But then the page to order says "(Limit 10 per Customer)"
So, um. How do I get the quantity/price discounts they are offering me?

SPOILERS FOR SOUTHLAND TALES, NOT REALLY BUT KINDA
It's a movie I'm going to have to watch again, and maybe again after that. I understand the general theme that war is what will inevidably end this world either directly or indirectly. It's just weird how they present that point by masking it with a bunch of side stories that really mean nothing and are just reactions to the fact that the world was already on course to end before we met any of the characters.

Not his best movie. I like him in Walking Tall, The Rundown, Scorpion King (and to a lesser extent Be Cool). I think when he was first making movies he found his niche. He's an amazing action star, he could live off of that stuff for the next 10 years if he wanted. 20 years if he decided to pull a Stallone and make Walking Tall 5 when he's 50 years old.
Him playing serious roles just isn't his strong point. I know him as the Rock, I'll always know him as the Rock...he's not Dwayne Johnson, he hasn't been Dwayne Johnson since he first showed up in the WWF. When I see the Rock kicking ass in movies it's believable. When I see the Rock trying to produce tears and be serious I just don't buy into it.

Ehh you ever hear of a little movie called "Rocky III" and a character known to many as "Thunderlips". The Rock has done pretty good, but he's no Thunderlips.
But seriously his transition came so naturally because acting was always his strong point when he was a wrestler. The guy was amazing on a microphone and could have you hating him one week and the next week you'd be his biggest fan. He was the best showman the WWF has probably ever had.
I just wish he'd stick to what he's good at. Call me crazy but I thought he was great in the Rundown and Walking Tall (still waiting for both of those to come out on Blu-ray).

Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride is probably the second best wrestler/movie collaboration.
The #1 of all time would be Hulk Hogan really showing off his acting chops and going completely out of character to portray "Rip" in "No Holds Barred".

See....I have Randy Savage in Spider-Man 1 as my #1 of all time. Great acting there.

Clearly you haven't seen No Holds Barred
I'd tell you to check it out on DVD but it was so good of a movie that they decided not to make a DVD for it. They figured it would water down it's greatness.

Where's the best place to buy speaker wire? Gonna go with 12 as recommended by a few of you here. Seems like every B&M I hit today had 16 or 18.

Watched Dumb and Dumber tonight.
What can I say....it's the worst blu-ray I've seen so far. It cleans up the DVD blur-effect, but that's about all I can say positive about it.
There's almost zero fine detail. And colors are generally dull.
The lossless audio is....fine, I guess, if you want to hear "MOCK...YEAH!!!!!!!!" as clear as ever.
I never owned it on DVD, so I was waiting for the blu-ray, but if you own the DVD, keep it and put it in a blu-ray case. It's more or less the same.

You know why it's so poor along with The Mask that was released the same week? DNR. Applied to both and in a big way.

If that's the case they failed there, too. There's a screen of messy grain throughout most of the movie.
