New Avengers #27

Did anyone pick this up this week? This along with Ultimate Spidey and Spider-Man Reign were probably my favorites so far of the ones I've read. I realize that this issue may put off some people since not many are familiar or care for Echo since she was created recently in a Daredevil comic. But being a DD fan, this almost read like a second DD issue so I loved it. It also gave the character some depth and turned her into a hero and the ending was pretty damn cool.

Still waiting for my copy, since Im from the Philippines. Heard its good though, but that Spider Woman only got 1 line, and the team only were together in 6 pages(without explaining why)... Good thing is that it never spoiled Civil War 7 as many feared.

I myself am more excited of the MIGHTY Avengers!

I thought it was great, loved the splash cover when the Avengers busted thru. very good comic so far if you into the action. Still gave you no clue as to who is the new Ronin though. I thought it was a good start off point for the new team without spoiling events of CW aftermath.

So, anyone know if the new Ronin is going to stay Ronin? I kinda liked the idea of Ronin being a hot girl like Maya. Actually I would prefer her to stay Ronin. Anybody think she'll take the mantle back from whoever that is, or if that's the new Ronin for sure?

The new Ronin is more than likely to end up as someone currently involved in Civil War.

Ya, that's who I was thinking of too. Bendis did say he/she is someone we all would know. And the idea behind Ronin is to have one hero wear the costume when he/she gets tired of wearing their old for whatever reason.

But "Yo Cage" doesnt sound like Cap at all, nor the use of swords. We all know Cap is stubborn enough to even do those! lol

Iron Fist? Could be Starks, then he will kill those criminals known as the New Avengers!

In the new Wizard Bendis talks about Ronin being the persona of a "masterless samurai", which is the definition of 'Ronin', but he also says that after Civil War "there's a couple of characters in the Marvel Universe who fit that bill." Cap being a fugitive from American justice makes him a masterless "samurai."

Also there is a part of the older New avengers I think its in the "Secrets and Lies" trade back where Cap talks of a time when he could no longer represent the flag of his country, and had to go incognito.

Its also the same issue that Echo/Ronin is in, so It might be a sign if Bendis's mindset, and he might draw back on that history to maybe reveal that Cap ends up being Ronin.

That being said I was a little confused by the end ?

I really like the issue, I just wish Leinil would ink his work though. And his Spidey is a bit off but thats about it. I don't see why the new Ronin would'nt be DD.

^^ Cuz DD is back in US and got a new storyline. Plus, he said he really wont join the Avengers(NA #3), and prefer to be alone.

So lets put this in perspective, who is good with swords, and can say "Yo Cage"? I dont remember Cap to be hip.
