Anyone make any purchases? I bought the Dan Cleary 03 Oilers Jersey and a Daniel and Henrik Sedin Home & Away from 03 - just hope they are still in stock, probably won't get any kind of confirmation until tomorrow from MG.

If they're on the website, they're usually in stock (once somebody buys it, it automatically gets taken off the website)...

LOL... Taratukhin is a done deal. I thought about it some more after making the post above and figured if he was good enough to play in the Olympics, he'll be good enough to play in the NHL pretty soon :)

Kipper was $2495 back in the day... I would have loved to have gotten it, but there was no way that was going to happen without a divorce :D I've currently got the red and white Yelle, and the white Nilson (scored the OT goal in game 1 against Detroit). I had the Nieminen, but sold it to Rabbity (I forget her name) last year...

Okay, now I can stop thinking about jerseys and concentrate on work :o

Finally took pictures of my Zubov jersey. Couple of board burns, a dot from a sharpie, faint puck/stick marks and three repairs Looks like I matched the burns and holes on the sleeve to the Getty photo.

I also may have accidentally matched my Brodeur jersey to the photo below. Its hard to see the marks on the crest in the small photo but if I enlarge the photo, the mark under the horn becomes easier to see and the photo is from the same year as the jersey.

guys, I purchased a Gretzky Rangers jersey off eBay last year, and it is clearly not used, but may be game issued. I looked at pics from him in the Rangers blue jersey, and the jersey I have is IDENTICAL to what he wore, and there is even a patch in the lower hemline (where a meigray patch would be) that says set 2 1999. I will post pics asap, but I am curious if I stumbled upon something special here.

Its probably a thing Gretzky did before games, like Patty Roy would write his kids name on his stick under the tape at the bottom of the handle.

I don't think the Gretzky jerseys are fakes per se (although I'm not certain if they were licensed or not -- I'm pretty sure they were), but they were produced in multiple quantities so it probably isn't anything that special (although cooler than the standard authentic Gretzky jersey due to the custom patches; it is harder to find as well).

Do teams/players sign contracts to make their game worn stuff exclusive to them. I notice the one site only had Rangers game used items. Just wondering if it was some kind of contract...or just a regional luxary.

He isn't the best player, but Leafs helmets are extremely difficult to obtain since they do not make them available to the public due to insurance issues. On the rare occassion that they do make them available at team equipment sales, all the decals and stickers are removed. Pretty happy with these pickups:

I've been trying to get a Tootoo game used stick for quite some time now, but they were much more difficult to track down than I had anticipated. A couple Nashville folks told me that they occassionally auction off his sticks at Predators home games, but bidding usually end around the $1000 mark (apparently they love him down there). I got this stick directly from the Nashville Predators Foundation for a pretty decent price.

Note the unique markings on the knob of his stick. Tootoo writes 'NUNAVUT' on all his sticks as a tribute to his roots. The top of the knob is marked 'T22' as a tribute to his late brother, Terence Tootoo, who committed suicide.

Some nice pick ups in here of late. That Oilers 3rd Smyth jersey is awesome pick up, even for a Flames fan. Can't go wrong with his stuff. Finally got some time to take shots of my pink game used Mother's Day bat. Found one photo of Wilkerson on getty from the game. The pine tar/moto sticky stuff on the handle, looks like it lines up with top of 6 on the handle. I need to get that picture and blow it up some.

I got these several months ago on Ebay when the Binghamton Senators auctioned off a bunch of Ottawa Senators equipment they acquired from the 05-06 NHL Season. I had these gloves signed today at a free signing in Buffalo.

When I showed Heatley the gloves, he immediately spotted the 37s that were screened on each glove (in memory of Dan Snyder). He examined the gloves for a while and I asked him if he remembered when he wore these. He asked me where I acquired them from so I told him. He said he wore them with Team Canada during the World Championships in 2005 (where Canada finished with a silver medal), and when he arrived in Ottawa after the trade from Atlanta, he wore them during the preaseason before getting his Senators gloves.

After he signed them, he told his buddy who was sitting with him to check them out, pointing specifically to the 37s. His friend also looked at them for quite a while and said it was an awesome piece. The Easton Hockey representatives that were there then asked to check them out as well. One rep asked me if I was going to sell them. My response: "The amount of money I spent on them and the time I spent to get them signed... HELL NO!" He laughed and said it was a great piece.

I went to check the status of my Meigray sale purchases. They were supposed to be delivered today. One stick and one jersey. However, I just checked the status and one of the packages says:

Just got my package. It's a 2006-07 Marty Turco Set 2 (white) jersey. I've got it photo-matched about 10 times with some marks across the front logo. I'll have pics up tonight. To echo what brew said -- MeiGray is unique in that has contracts in place with the actual leagues and/or teams (whereas other dealers, while still reputable, are more of a third party seller rather than obtaining them "direct" from MeiGray). They have the majority of NHL teams under contract, and will work with the NBA teams next year.

Value can depend on a number of factors, of which game use is one. Player (obviously), year, style, patches, customizations, etc. can also determine value. Just be careful -- the hobby can be quite addicting :D

Opinion time guys.....I have been offered a Taylor Pyatt team Canada gamer for $175. What do you guys think? I am on the fence with this one. I want it because he is a Canuck and I think he will end up being a hell of a player i nthe long run, but I just dont know.

in gw.net's second auction, someone bid on their own auction and won their jersey back, it was called into question about how ethical that was and a couple people got banned, I spoke up about how it made them look to ban people questioning what they did, so they deleted my posts and banned me.

Jason Spezza's first appearance in the NHL took place in 01-02 when he tried to crack the Senators lineup. He eventually got cut and didn't become a team regular until 02-03. During 01-02, he wore number 44. I just acquired a stick from this time :D

Is it just a thing of chance that it was 44 that he ended up wearing when his jersey got ripped in the Stanley Cup finals. Strange.

He wore 44 Eaves during briefly because Eaves wasn't dress (I think). Pretty cool coincidence though :)

That's right.. Eaves was scratched, and Spezza's jersey was torn badly.. he went to the dressing room, got Eaves jersey, sat in the penalty box with it, then when he came out, he played 30 seconds or so, then went to the bench. Next shift, he had his repaired jersey. Bob West bought it I believe..
