Here is my piece of 2007 Red Sox history. A hammered Wily Mo Pena game used bat both Steiner and MLB authenticated. I got for it for a nice deal on ebay awhile back. Less than half what they sell for on Steiner site. The paper work and in MLB data base have it from game in early May at Fenway vs. Seattle when he went 4-4. I looked on MLB.com and found he used it before that game in Baltimore and hit a grand slam with it. I even video matched it to that at bat.

It sucks about the getty guy getting shut down. He even emailed me the photos before I even paid him the $5 a shot he was charging the last couple times I asked for some pictures. I though everyone knew about him. I know tons of people used him on the game used universe board. I know some people were using him as the source and making money reselling saying they had access. I did see another post on GUU with a guy claiming he could get anything for $10 a image, but on GUU they pulled the post right away. I wonder how much business Meigray does with getty. I did one photo match with them and it was $40, before I found out about the getty guy. I really like that MeiGray has the date and all that stuff on them. My Thrashers Modry that is MeiGray photo-matched, he even scored a goal from that game. That saying something for him. Maybe I can advertise it as a goal jersey of his and get enough for it to buy a edge set 1 of a Thrasher this year. So pretty soon we should be seeing one of you guys posting the first Edge gamer in this thread.

I see that Bob West put all his Ducks jerseys on Meigray. The Ozo is a lot more reasonably priced at 595 as opposed to 1500. I still dont have the money for it unfortunately.

I am hoping to find one like that from Nabokov. I like how Nike color codes their logo to the color scheme of the team. And Nabby then uses a cool teal tape on the blade that looks awesome.

this was a during game auction and it was a shirt off the back type deal...she paid 450 for it and the auction started at 300 and went up in increments of 50 only. One lady had already jacked it to 400 and my wife really wanted a goalie jersey...

I wonder if Steiner will get it's hooks into more NHL teams. They have expanded quite a bit in the game used business. Started with just the Yankees, now they have contracts with Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers and now Islanders. I wish they got some NFL teams. Some interesting stuff for the Islanders. They run auctions all the time and deals can be found in them. Also heard they will come down on asking prices. They make a killing on Yankee stuff. Here is Islanders link.

Love the way Fletcher jerseys get hammered. I haven't heard if Game Exclusives is getting the Redskins gamers this year. I'd love to get one with both patches they are now wearing. If you look at the gallery photos from that Bills Dolphins game on the Bills site on NFL.com, they have hundreds of photos from each game. Just in case you haven't seen them, they have good matches on your Fletcher there. Cool that they have so many shots from each game on the site for there games. The Bills are always good for selling on NFL.com auctions. They had a few throwbacks from Monday night vs. Dallas up that went for fairly cheap considering how crazy the prices can be on that site. So Avs set 1 and 2 Edge jerseys are pictured on Meigray site. So the set 1 I take it is pink version used in only 2 regular season games. I did notice Stasny hat trick opening night set one dark was sold. I wonder if the rat has that hanging in his closet. Can see the pink on the #'s.

Yeah, I saw that last night. Waiting to hear back from the seller. I don't think Hexy every actually used that style of Cooper glove. He did use a Cooper glove in 90-91, but it's nothing like that one. When the Reactor gloves came out, he was using exclusively Brian gloves and catchers. I've got Stu and some other Flyers experts researching it with me.

Could be practice used, but I don't think it was ever actually worn in a game.

Minor pickup tonight - went to the Leafs game and a friend of mine who works at the Air Canada Centre told me he found a bunch of old jerseys from the 1999-2000 Leafs season in storage. I had a look through them after the game and they were a bunch of game issued/ready Leafs jerseys for callups from the St. John's Maple Leafs. I picked up a 'Smith' jersey with the number 4 on it - double patched (2000 patch and 2000 Toronto All Star Game Patch). I did a bit of research and it turns out this was intended for DJ Smith, who wore number 4 with St. John's, but he couldn't wear the same number with Toronto since Cory Cross had number 4 already. As a result, they made him another jersey with the number 24. Interesting and good pickup nonetheless, especially at $60 CDN! :D

It's a size 54, but looks like a 42 if it was the old style jersey....haha. Tons of piling on the inside. More than I've ever seen on a jersey before. Wonder if that has to do with how the sweat slides off the jersey and how tight it is to the player.

I should have pics up tonight. But it depends if I have time. I have to re-ship it back to a friend in Philly in time for the Mike Richards signing at BC Sports next Tuesday. MeiGray is the place for NHL stuff and soon to be NBA stuff. Still haven't heard if the nbagameworn.com site is a go yet.
Steiner Sports has the game used contracts for Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Dodgers and even now work some with NY Islanders. They have quite a few sales if you get on their email list and auctions on the site.
Always auctions on all the leagues .com sites NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL.
Can find killer deals on ebay, but make sure you know what you are buying and research the item. I.E. has the correct tagging, player traits, ect. Can find killer deals on people reselling stuff they bought from Meigray, Steiner ect...
Also if your just getting into the hobby read the game worn sites message boards. Two big ones for hockey... gameworn.net, gamewornjerseys.com and gameuseduniverse.com for MLB, NFL NBA stuff. I think they are the major one's, maybe some of you guys know of other's. Tons of great info on those boards.

up to the MN wild team store to see what kind of stuff they had to offer as far as game used went

a couple pairs of skates, a helmet, a few practice jerseys {all were 75 each} and a few sticks most going for 150

they did have a backstrom stick that i may go back and pick up...maybe

When I was up in Minnesota over the Holidays visiting family. I checked out the Wild's team store at Mall Of America. They had a few game used sticks on the wall, I think they were priced decent. Carney was $60 and couple other's were $75. Hard to see because they had them so freakin high up on the wall and the guy working there was clueless. They also had a rack of practice jerseys for $75, no #'s in them from what I could tell. Not sure if you are a Twins fan, but if you are check out their pro shops. They have some great game used stuff in them. Prices wern't bad on the jerseys at the Ridgedale store. I got a common player's in both 2005 and 2006 in the Blue alternates. Still kickin myself that I didn't grab another one that was still left real cheap, can't remember if it was Castillo or Castro. 2006 jerseys have the Puckett 34 patch and 2005's have 40 year divison championship patch on them. Also got a game used ball MLB authenticated for $15 at Roseville shop. They had few other game balls pretty cheap. Another game was still left for $15. They ranged from $15-$100. Ridgdale store seemed to have better prices on the jerseys. Still cool seeing the selection in both stores. Both had some big names like Hunter, Nathan, Cuddy and the M and M boys jerseys for sale, even a few high end cracked bats of these guys. Didn't have time to check out the Apple Valley store.

Do people usually try to get their jerseys signed? I know vegaspuck is getting his Richards signed. Does it do anything to the value of the jersey? I guess it depends on how you look at it.

I prefer to get it signed on the inside. That way it doesn't take away from matching the jersey to the player wearing it on the ice. Not a big fan of signing on the outside. I'd rather get a replica for that. Lindros and the Flyers trainer use to sign all his gamers on the inside behind the logo. Kinda liked the idea, so when I get a gamer signed, I usually go that route.

Cool, did you get some kind of team letter with them? I know a bunch of collector's are looking for Pats game used jerseys, but they pretty much don't release them. Maybe someday MeiGray will cut a deal with them. Like they did scoring those Eagles Throwbacks from this year. I wish they would get the list done, I'm real interested to see what they asking for them. They even got the helmets.

I am dont think meigray budges much at all on prices unless it is a cosign jersey, then you might be able to haggle a bit since they will ask the seller.

Meigary will field offers but won't accept anything too low, maybe 10% difference. I know gordo tried to work things out with a kipper jersey, but they wouldn't budge. the new jerseys, no way they're moving, and I bet whatever's around for a summer sale will be 25% off maximum.. Going to wait til summer to think about getting a white Flames from this year..

And a comment on the Nashville jersey.. remember the complaints some people had when they ordered a jersey from NHL.com, about how cheap the numbers were, with stitch-marks drawn on? Well, that's how the Preds numbers are. The main number is all one piece, with the blue on yellow. The yellow outside part is stitched to the jersey, but the blue is just part of it, with fake stitchmarks all around..
AND the name is not sewn on the namebar, it's also colored on, with fake stitches around the letters.. cheaaaap!

small marks here and there on the Gelinas, pretty light wear, which was expected since he was injured for half the set. but it has the A on it, and a nearly washed out mark is in the right spot to match a photo from early in the season. I'm not unhappy

apparently they cut and rip easily but my two don't have any holes, so I can't speak from experience.. if you're going to wear it in play, then maybe don't, but for the collection, I'm glad I have a couple of the failed crap.. sort of a 'lest we forget' thing..

Considering I've seen all of the Kings Set 1 since they are in the team store we were amazed with the lack of wear on players such as Dustin Brown and John Zeiler who spend a great deal of time battling and hitting. Even Ivanans and others didn't have repairs of any sort.
