Thanks. The banners/stubs are probably my prized collector's piece of my PC. Looking forward to adding a separate Glen Anderson banner and stub this January. I wasn't at every retirement game so it took some digging to acquire all of the pieces. It's really hard to find Gretzky stubs. Probably took me two years.

**Anyone interested in the Modano jersey? Looking to move it to make some wall space for some other Oilers stuff I have coming.

OK-thanks. I too was prepared for more wear and tear based on the era and player. I don't get hung up on the wear a jersey exhibits like a lot of people do. It's nice when it has it but no big deal to me if it does not.

I was prepared for little wear, after the talking with the ebay seller. but the fact that it's real automatically makes it desireable, and the price couldn't be beat.. It may be as low as you can go in any Hunter rankings, but I didn't have that style yet, and it's got a patch, which is a minor focus on mine.

Not sure if I can keep it tho.. wife-blocked!

Meigray annouced their teams for the 2008-09 season:

Atlanta, Boston, Calgary, Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Nashville, New Jersey, NY Islanders, NY Rangers, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington

Pretty much the same as last season. I think ill try to add another Caps jersey this season.

Also considering a Habs from this season, but Im sure they will be pricey.

He does have jerseys listed with Meigray. I have never bought from him. I havent figured out if he is a collector , seller , investor or what. I know he has a large list of Dallas Stars jerseys (3rd jerseys in particular) that he will list on his site then the next day take them down. if he is a seller his sales tactics are unorthodox to say the least

Yes, and I always keep any and all paperwork with game used stuff. I even keep the boxes and all packaging. I've bought stuff off mlb.com auctions and the invoice sometimes has teams letter head on the invoice with what you purchased.

When I sell a jersey, I only send out the LOA parts, not the credit card slip or the invoice.. maybe that's just me tho.. the original invoice doesn't really concern the new owner imo

Small world per usual. I had the bid one below the winning bid-327 versus 360. I saw it raised but had to bow out. If I had bid again, the puck would have cost me close to $500. For that amount, there were a lot of nice jersey's and sticks I could have grabbed instead. I shut off the computer and called it a night. I went to that AS game so it was a pretty special item to me.:o

SCORE on the Smyth, very good price! The one I bought was $725, and I thought I got a killer deal (I know I did, even moreso when I sold it :D)

The Phaneuf and Iginla on classic were dirt cheap IMO, $711 and $900something!! and the Stastny jersey under $550! makes the Captain's prices look even more redonkulous

I liked your Smyth much better and you did get a much better deal when you factor in im Canadian and the drop in the Cdn $. plus then top on the 17.5% juice plus GST(5%) and i probably would have a hard time breaking even if i went to sell it . Very happy with it though

The Stastny that sold last night i believe is Captains because i saw it was going cheap and thought about bidding on it. the exact jersey(same Meigray #) is on his site at $4000 then half off . my guess is he probably bought it back

After losing out on the Konstantinov (at about 2.30 am est) . i sat at my computer deciding on whether to bid on the Smyth or the Phaneuf . in the end obviously i decided on the Smyth because i want to get a newer Phaneuf with an A.

nah, he played 67 games, and all 6 playoff games.. there are a couple other jerseys from the same season, all with multiple repairs and lots of wear, so either this is a playoff jersey, worn 3 times at home in the playoffs, or he wore it a couple times and missed the other 13-15 games of the season when he was supposed to be wearing it :)

Got Brian Campbell on a pre-season used stick. He was given a bunch of TPS sticks this pre-season to tryout and use. Picked one up at Hawkquarters and got it signed today. He sayed he didn't like them and will be sticking with Reebok.

Thanks on the Campbel stick. Hawkquarters is located in downtown Chicago on the Magnificent Mile...about 2-3 miles from the United Center.

They have a decent selection of game used and game issued items. I don't play hockey anymore, so I don't look at anything other than sticks. The game used sticks used to be $25 to $50, but with the emergence of the Blackhawks, the have the raised the stick prices to a minimum of $100. I won't be being buying too much anymore at those prices...just have to bug the players when I go to practice.

i know this is mostly hockey but i have a baseball opinion i need from you guys...heres the 2004 miguel cabrera cleats i have...this is the closest thing to a photo match i can find..the tounges of the cleats move the same direction...i think this is pretty good whats your guys opinions

i also have his batting helmet from 2005 with the katrina sticker but im having problems finding a high quality image or close up to look for scratches on the helmet..there are tons but i cant find a big enough photo to see for sure..any help would be great

Patty Roy game worn, record setting Avalanche jersey from the 00-01 season with All Star patch. He reached the 40 win plateau games for the first and only time this year. He won the Stanley Cup this year in addition to the Conn Smythe Trophy and William M. Jennings Trophy. The NHL Playoffs saw Roy play in 23 games going 16- 7 with 4 shoutouts and GAA of 1.70. Not a bad year;) Wearing this jersey, he set a NHL record by winning 30 games for the sixth time in a row and eleventh time in his career overall. He subsequently went on to win 30 or more games the next two and final years of his career to finish with a NHL record 13 - 30 win seasons. I forgot to mention that he also surpassed Terry Sawchuk’s all-time regular season wins total during the 2000-01 season to become the top goaltender in hockey history.

There is a typo in your post -- while the statistics are accurate, the year they occurred was 2000-2001, not 2001-02 as you posted.

As a reminder, the Red Wings won The Stanley Cup in 2001-02, including their defeat of the Avs in the Western Conference Finals en route to The Cup. ;):D

when he was there in 04-05, someone in SWI linked me to the auction site that had the jerseys.. I stopped bidding at $400, so I don't have anyone but myself to blame for losing out on those.. BUT Bern I think is a bigger team.. I'm waiting to hear back from the same guy about how to get one of those jerseys..

I don't think exqusite613 is a board member. That bidder used to win almost every jersey Meigray put up on NBA.com auctions for awhile. I think he got every all star jersey from last year and every big name that would come up in other auctions. One night alone I think he spent over a quarter mil. Pretty sure he also won Kobe, Celtics big 3 finals jerseys.

I've never heard of MeiGray stuff ever being found as bad. Also, if it does turn out to be bad, they have a money back deal I believe.
I see Ironclad authentics is getting more into game used stuff. I think Cal Ripken owns part of this company. They market his autograph stuff. They have up for auction Orioles stuff from last game at Yankee Stadium. Including Bip Roberts jersey worn during final out. I wonder if some Yankee collector will score that one. Also they have up Jason Campbell jersey from Steelers Monday night game for charity. That one should be a easy photomatch. He had all kinds of grass stainson the back of the jersey. MeiGray does have a soilid reputation but if there's no photos available to photo match how do you know if it's legit. like say a game issued jersey, the player never wore it so there's no photo matches but how do you know it was made for that player?

How would you know it's not legit? Not every jersey has ovious wear that can be photomatched. You have to just get lucky to even find a clear photo and hope that it may show something that is on your jersey. You have to trust your source and look for correct tagging/wear ect. NFL unwashed hammered jerseys are the easiest to match. NBA stuff is next to impossible to find a clear match.

Meigray might have a sale for Black Friday. They usually have a little sale then, but there is usually a catch to it. Like two years ago any jersey that was black was 50% off. I dont remember what last years sale was because I didnt get anything.

Not many. 40+ tickets sold, and then walk ins....$59 for reg items and $89 for premiums might of chased a bunch away considering he's a decent signing in person. But I wanted a better graph than he gives for free IP, so I paid for him. Got a Field of Dreams COA with the stick, so I'm happy with that.

Unfortunately, I did not take a proof shot as I rarely do. But I did take a pic with JT and my son. My son is two years old and the epitome of a "terrible two"...he was having a tug-of-war with Toews with the stick....my son Austin kept saying "Mine!!" I finally got the stick out of his hands for Jt to sign it....this picture is the end result with JT still lauhing about it.

This is a Sutter game used stick that I had listed in my collection as belonging to Brent from around 1985 when he played for the dynasty known as the New York Islanders. It's a right handed stck and similiar to models I have seen pictures of him using. However, with the # 16 stamped on the shaft just below the Sutter name stamp, I'm not as sure now. The only pictures I can find of him wearing an Islanders sweater is with the # 21 jersey number. So, I'm not sure if he wore 16 earliar in is career and switched to 21 or I have incorrectly identified it as being Brent Sutters stick when it's actually another brothers stick. Any help out there?

I did some more resarch and have now determined that it's a Duane Sutter stick from 1987-88. That was his first year playing in Chicago. He wore the # 16 briefley for one season in 1987-88 playing just 37 regular season games and 5 playoff games before switching back to the #12 he wore on the Island and the subsequent following two years in Chicago before retiring. The internet is a wonderful thing. I can't find any pictures of Duane Sutter as a "Hawk from the 1987-88 season. But if I could, he would probably be using this model stick pictured above.

I know they are that size for the NJ Devils LOA - it looks like a certificate. You also get a personal letter from Lou Lamoriello on Devils jerseys. I know the NBA jerseys come with a letter as a LOA.

They are just standard normal paper size. Can't say I've ever heard of anyone framing the LOA. It must be someone pretty big your getting.

I'd like to have the letter framed and hanging next to the jersey on my wall, and don't want it to fade because it's an important piece of documentation verifying its provenance. If I lose or damage it, the jersey's value decreases, doesn't it?

Here is the other Duane "Dog" Sutter stick that I knew I had in my collection. It was used towards the end of his career in the mid 1980's with either the New York Islanders or the Chicago Blackhawks. Pretty interesting art work on the name stamp ;) If anyone has any knowledge of pictures of Duane playing with the 'Hawks, I'm all ears. Hard to believe, he got drafted and won a Stanley Cup in each of his first four seasons playing for the Islanders. That has to be a record that will never be broken:D

1980 Game Used Mets nameplate removed and a Game used 2002 Jeromy Burnitz jersey this is a grail I liked him when he was a Met even though a lot of people did not lol

Yeah it is amazing what game used NFL jerseys go for on NFL.com auctions. People are willing to pay big bucks for unwashed gamers. They have some real sweet one's on there from time to time. I haven't seen many Broncos at all this year. Last year they had a bunch of big name Broncos up it seemed after every game.

From past experience, the Holiday sale will likely be 25-30% off... although with the current economy, perhaps MeiGray will be more inclined to offer a bigger discount. Previously you had to wait until the summer sale to get 50% off...

Wow that Panthers jersey is a lot cheaper. I'd maybe go that route, but their is added value in getting him in Avs jersey.
Wonder how the goalie bit works. Does he have to play or just suit up tomorrow. I thought you might be eyeing up the Budaj All Star young stars patched jersey. I can see his jerseys moving well with the sale with how well he is playing.

I looked into this jersey and when i ran the Meigray tag it came up Game Issued. I emailed the seller and asked about wear and got no response . I then emailed Barry and he said it is definately Game Issued and was sold as such

Also I noticed that the Avs Salei I wanted is now gone as well.

If it's an 06/07 or earlier (old style), I wouldn't be surprised to see them go for 50%. But if they are for the 07/08's as well, then it's a clear sign that Meigray's looking to move some inventory... fingers crossed :D

I was looking at a Jeff Carter from last season, but apparently so were other people. I would have also liked to pick up the semin from last season, but he didnt play.
