They got over 250 orders . Im not sure they were expecting that response with the way the economy is . It delayed the announcement of the holiday sale. I did end of picking up one jersey a Dan Hamhuis Nashville home jersey from 2007-08. Im still waiting patiently to see if did the right thing(passing on the black friday sales for the most part) hoping to get the jersey i want at half off

I went to the Caps /Islanders game last night. I saw a guy walking around on the concourse with what apperared to be a GU white Islanders jersey of Brent Sutter. Lots of stck marks so it was obviuos from a distance. I saw him a second time and decided to ask him. Yes, was the answer. He thought it was from the '87 season.:eek:

A concession run between the second and third periods netted me an encounter with injured Cap Mike Green. A handshake and a brief chat was the result. Oh yeah, the Caps smoked the Islanders too:D

Riddler love the jersey. Was looking at getting one at the gameworn few weeks ago but just could not do it. Love those 80s' to mid 90's jersey's. Most of all, teams that have changed their logo or moved. One day I hope to get them all. As of now I only have a Jets gw.

All of my memorabilia is autographed. I do have an auto'd goalie stick from a former Wrangler goalie, Mike Mckenna, who is now in the AHL with Norfolk. Not sure if it's game used, but it does have some wear on it. I'll post pics when I can.

I am not sure how many repairs you would count the red part. It is like one giant repair, but it is made up of at least 2 or 3 different threads. There are 3 other repairs other than that. two above the red one both yellow and 1 white above the other shoulder number. The shoulder numbers are just hammered. One has marks all over it and the other is actually not completely attached at one part.

No it is 07. The second date is off as it wouldnt be 08. That would be a hell of a jersey to last over a year.

It was only used for like 7 games, which isnt great, but there is a hell of a lot of wear and tear for only 7 games.

Yeah, they really aren't that old of a style. I think they last used that exact style with gray fascemask and helmets in early 80's, maybe late 70's. Not sure. I do like them much better than 90's and current Vikes jersey.

I got my ship notice last night from meigray. So I should have my black friday purchase tomorrow. I will post it up when it comes in. I wish JO Sports had some kind of sale. I'd love to get one of those Redskins gamers from last season with the patches or Bears orange alternate. The prices are just too high on most stuff. Wouldn't mind one of those player issued sweatshirts from the Skins. The Joe Gibbs sideline jacket with Taylor 21 patch is pretty cool.

My black Friday purchase. Got a sweet photomatch on the repair on right sleeve near the Preds patch and I found a ton of pictures that show the black mark on the right front shoulder. It is his set 2 for 07-08 that was also used in the playoffs. I think he only used 2 home darks all season. Haven't seen the pop report yet. Has a bunch of repairs on sleeves. Most wear on any gamer that I've ever owned.

Yeah, I was very happy to get the jersey. I could tell from photos on Meigray site it had really nice wear and could be matched. I don't think he used a set 3. They still have it on the site as GI. My letter says it is navy set 2 and used in the playoffs. I wonder when they will release the pop report from last season. With new jerseys starting last year and all the tweaks done, I'm sure it's a nightmare putting that together.

I'd be very careful, especially considering the high price tag. It's definitely worth a call to this UT "Co-op" store to verify. The reason why I'd be cautious is because (a) it's a helmet, and they can easily be altered with different decals, facemasks, etc. -- your point about a defensive player wearing #12 is also a good one; and (b) the NCAA seems to be pretty strict about selling game worn equipment (i.e. stripping name bars off of jerseys, etc.), and given the liability with helmets, I'm surprised to see them sold to the public (although it's possible, of course).

Also, find as many photos as you can, and ask lots of questions to the seller. For example, you might want to ask why the Texas state decal is missing on the back:

Yeah, those Flyers 3rd are sweet. So this first set is really unique. I was surprised how much those spectrum patched pre season ones sold for. Will see if people have any money left after holidays to bid these up...

This jersey is one-of-a-kind, since the Flyers elected to alter the style of numbers on their Third jerseys after wearing this jersey in two games. The Flyers elected to match their 2008-09 home and road jerseys for the remaining games in which they will wear this alternate jersey.

There has to be about 10-12 items that I want, that all came up for sale in the past 2 weeks and I don't know what I want the most. I just picked up one of those Flyers Meigray game used pucks from last season. From 1-22-2008 vs Devils, 7-3 New Jersey win. Martin Brodeur was in net and got the win. I have to figure out what career win game that was for him. Comes with a matching holograms on puck and Meigray letter stating the game and period it was used in. Even came in a little case from them. All the Flyers playoff game used pucks are gone, still a few goal pucks from them. The Ovy playoff goal puck has been sold. Did see they have some of his gloves now on the site.

I purchased a couple of Montreal Canadiens Patrick Roy retirement night jerseys that i just got yesterday (will post pictures later) to my surprise the jerseys worn were not RBK edge but rather the RBK style they wore in 2006-07. the other part the Canadiens also attached a hologram to the jersey and on the letter , the problem being they put the hologram on the back number much like you would for an autographed jersey. I was able to move it and put it behind the collar label

This sort of thing reminds me of walking into a restaurant and seeing a hockey stick hanging on a wall. Upon close inspection, it's a Peter Bondra GU black sherwood stick with two nice screws drilled through the shaft so it stays on the wall. It has a nice, bold signature on the blade. I find out who the owner is and ask him about it. He has no idea who the player is....LOL

Generally speaking, game used equipment is not the stuff you find in bargain bins. However, you can find game used sticks of a lot of NHL players for very reasonable prices. Keep an eye on the major auction houses, charity functions, team functions, game used equipment dealers, team web sites, game used message boards and ebay. Of course, you won't typically find star players like Gretzky and Crosby on the cheap but a lot of lesser stars are very reasonable like the Elias stick you got. Jerseys are a bit tuffer but can be found for reasonable prices as well if your not looking for star players or are in a hurry for a specific item. Some of the game used equipment dealers will run very nice sales at 50% off from time to to time also.

If you are looking for NYI and Yankees stuff I'd get on Steiner Sports email list. They have a different sale everyday and sometimes it involves game used stuff from the teams they have deals with. They work with both those teams. Also check out their auctions on the site. Seen NYI game used sticks and helmets starting at $9.99 and they don't get much action. They move a lot of Yankee stuff in the auctions as well.

This will be pretty generic advice, because it ultimately comes down to what you want and how much you're willing to spend. That will change over time -- you'll find that once the habit starts, it's hard to stop (don't say we didn't warn you! :D)

Be VERY selective in what you collect. Sometimes it's tough to be patient, but the thrill is in the hunt -- once you find and get something, you'll want something else... so make sure what you're getting is worth keeping. There are good deals to be had -- just do you research, make sure you know what you're getting, and when the opportunity comes, you'll know when to jump.

They may be bidding in auctons plus they buy direct from Meigray.
when "In the game (be a player)" cut up the one of only known goalie pads of George Vezina I never bought their product again and make matters worse they were at the time the official card of the NHLPA

Flyers or Edmonton days. It looks like he wore uniform #24 his first year in Edmonton-1997-98 He only played in 11 games that year as he was aquired from the Flyers at the trade deadline. Or, he could have used it with the Flyers that same year before being traded to Edmonton as the stick has "44" on it which was his Flyers uniform number. It looks like he switched to #44 in his second year in Edmonton (1998-99). So that too is a possibility as there are pictures with him wearing the Oilers uniform with #44 and using this model stick as well.

4 pairs of gloves {5 if you count the pair of Bears gloves that are coming to me sooner or later}

But sadly I think that I have everything that is pretty much available out there.

I know of one of his college gamers and a Seattle Thunderbirds but it sounds like neither will be moving to my house anytime soon.
