I bought a couple. The COA is a 8x10 and has a blue border around the outside, like a diploma, with the NHL logo in the middle. The writing on it basically says, The line up card from October 1, 2007 is authentic. The card has been signed by the coach of the (team name) and card is assumed to be authentic if accompanied by this certificate.

I was a little dissapointed with the size of the actually line up card because I thought it would have been bigger, I think it's a 5x7 piece of paper and was assuming it would be 8x10. But the good thing is it will be easier to display it, if I ever get around to it.

Good to know, I figured they would be normal size sheet of paper. They do seem to get them up quick for auction. I wanted Bruins-NYR preseason game from TD Garden that I wnet to last month, but it got bid way up. One thing I didn't even notice right away is that they are lots, so you are getting 4-8 games sometimes in these auctions. So for a buck a signed score sheet on some of the cheap auctions is a nice deal. I never really looked at these auctions before until recently. What kind of coin did the Gretzky signed ones as coach sell for. Those would be cool to have.

I think when they first started selling them the yotes were cheaper but I guess everyone started to realize they were signed by Gretzky so up they went. Which cards did you get?

The lot of 4 I won were all from this preseason. 2 Kings, vs Ducks and Avalanche. Most interested in the Avs one.
I hope to get some Bruins ones at some point. I want to maybe even have some players sign them at some point. Getting games you went to is a good idea.
Where do these ship from and how long does it take to get them if anyone remembers.

Sakic night gamers end tonight. Still look like bargins compared to the warm ups as of right now. Pucks are getting bid up pretty good. Wonder if anyone will try and get the jersey and the goal puck from a player. Wolski I think had a couple goals in the game.

Lighting quick shipping on NHL.com auctions on the line up cards. I won my lot on Tuesday afternoon at my house today. Pretty cool cards, nice that coach signs them. Some of MLB ones I see auctioned on MLB.com auctions. A lot of them the manager doesn't even sign.
I just got the one 8x10 COA for all of them.

That's a good question. Other than end of season alumni charity auctions where every team auctions off a game used stick from almost every player. You don't see many Avs sticks out there. Never been to Pepsi, maybe they sell them in the team shop at the arena. SG would probably know. He is biggest Avs fan on the planet.

Speaking of Avs, the gamers from Sakic night look like a bargin compared to warm ups. Brew you breaking down final prices again. Would be interesting seeing a side by side with what warm ups sold for each player compared to the game worn jersey.
The goal pucks went for big big money. Marleau Sharks goals went for over $800 each, no surprise. Must be some serious Sharks collectors, because their stuff always sells for a lot it seems.

I wonder if the practice jerseys were pre-tagged, or if a tag was added recently before auction.. in the $85 grab bag with the Brodeur as the grand prize, I received a Dallas practice jersey with the #9 on the fight strap, which they said was sent in error. Someone also received a #35. The Dallas jerseys from the nhlauction had neither of those guys, so I wonder if Meigray received a batch of practice jerseys, some with the number on it, and after that the tag numbers were sewn in, after the summer grab bag..

Thanks it took being a pain in the ass with constant emails ,phone calls to the Erie Otters to finally aquire it. What are some thoughts on getting a game worn jersey signed? I've got a Jason Witten that I have a chance to get autographed by him in person and I was just wondering what some people thought about this. In another thread that I posted a few guys have said not to do it. I'm not looking to resell the jersey or anything like that. I do wear it sometimes.

Next, try to figure out what category(s) if any it falls under. At this point, you may have a decent idea if you want to purchase anything. It's way more complicated then it needs to be.

The BB stick just arrived on Saturday from Canada so I did not have it at the book signing which I did attend as pictured. I purchased a book and had BB and Tim Leon sign it at the event. I asked BB if any of his game used sticks were around and he said probably not. I then posted a want ad for a BB stick on the GWnet forum and fortunately got an unexpected bite. The seller says it's likely from the 1974-75 Toronto Marlboros team which he was the team captain for. He lead the OHA with 68 goals and 165 points that year. They also won Memorial Cup championship that year as well. I'm having trouble locating any pictures though of BB as a Marlboro. I do have a team photo so far. I forgot to take a picture of on side of the shaft that show a "88" in marker. The stick was autographed before it arrived to me, likely during the 74-75 season.. I plan to take it to a practice soon and show it to him. I'm excited to have the stick in my collection.

The Eagles helmet actually lasted to Meigray's summer sale and I got it for $250. Figured if I didn't buy it I would be kicking myself later on, plus an authentic retails for $257:rolleyes: ...crazy.

The Flyers have a game used booth at the arena and I bought them there. I think all the pucks were current and former Flyers from 08/09 season and this season and all priced the same. The pucks have a Flyers/Meigray hologram on the back and I think I remember reading that Meigray was going to do the authenticating for the Flyers. When I first saw the pucks I thought they were practice pucks because I didn't know they changed them either. They also are made by Sherwood now and not Inglasco.


What do you guys think is a fair price for buying a goal puck.......I'm trying to decide if I paid to much for them.

I wasnt suprised on the bottom end as all the Wings and Hawks sold on NHL.com last year hit $1350. Except Datsyuk (7000+) all the Wings sold for between $1350-3050.The Hawks stars went well over 4000

Leafs had a game used equipment sale today. I went for the second year in a row, last year I went too late and there was not much left. This year I went alot earlier and got to be in the first group in to the Leafs dressingroom where the sale was being held. I picked up a Kaberle stick and a Pony stick....It was nice to see such a large selection of sticks and equipment.....there was a Vesa Toskala game catcher for $200.00 it could have been yours

I'll throw this question out to you guys, I want to get these sticks auto'd which i chose based on the players who I know are good signers at the Leafs practice Arena. Should I strip the tape off the blade or have them sign on the heal where there is no tape, silver sharpie or paint pen. Newbie to the stick auto portion of my collection and would like some input from collecters of auto'd sticks....Thanks

I like it with the original tape on and signed across the blade with a sliver paint pen. I thought I read somewhere the silver sharpie fades quicker than a regular sharpie. I think the thicker auto with the paint pen looks better. Go get some hockey tape and tape something up and do a couple test signatures with a sharpie and paint pen to see which one you like better.

I think think certified goal pucks and game used helmets are very undervalued in the hobby. Considering how rare and hard to find they can be to find.

Jules was Shanahan stick from Meigray sale? Those are pretty good deal. Seems he used new sticks every game. Does yours show much use? I been thinking of getting one of his. I'm supposed to have Holiday order at my house today.

The stick was from a Meigray sale and to me you can't beat the price for a future HOFamer. For one game I think the use is pretty good. All four sides of the stick from the middle of the shaft to the blade show signs of sticks rubbing together and there's a long white stripe on the bottom of the shaft from another stick. The butt end has "Wash 12-12" written in silver sharpie, from the game it was used. I bought the stick because he had a goal and two assists in the game so the signs of use was a plus.

Yeah the all-star jersey is from when they use to do the World all-stars vs. North American all-stars

The more patches the better. That's why my Modo jersey is probably my favorite jersey. I actually made a deal with my girlfriend that if I buy a jersey, it either has to be Philly related (Eagles or Flyers) or has to have a patch, to help limit my spending.

great Mitchell jersey, nice job with the matches! I'm a bit partial to rookie jerseys too, I know what you mean.. I find myself looking at game logs to see if any of the Flames jerseys being sold may have been NHL debut jerseys or something cool, something that differentiates them.. (and yes, I've seen the Boyd for sale on gw.net, but it's a bit high right now, and I just bought a couple sticks and a helmet, should have pics up by the weekend)..
I have David Moss's NHL debut jersey, which is doubly cool as he scored in that first game, and Nystrom's first goal jersey.. while that's not his first ever jersey, it was worn in his 3rd game and during the season that he lost his rookie status, after having played only 2 games 2 years earlier..

That's because autograph hounds can make billions of dollars on their signature:rolleyes:

If you figure out the hours an auto hound spends on getting the sig plus what he can sell it for, it probably winds up being less than minimum wage per hour. Better off going to work at Wally World...at least you get benefits.


When I was younger I went to a Flyers practice and got Hextall on a mini-goalie helmet. When he was going to sign it he asked "who do I make it out to" I replied he could just sign his name. He said he couldn't because "there was too much propaganda out there" So I told him who to make it out to and he made sure to sign his name through the other name. After he was done I thought to myself I bought the helmet for $10-$15, drove an hour, watched practice, waited around for autos then had to drive an hour home. If I sold it it would have probably did all that for about $3 an hour..................so I went home and took the "To Joe" off with nail polish remover and have a mini helmet signed by Ron Hextall.

I wonder how much he paid to get the remaining inventory from MGG. If he is making any money off them or not. He has some big name assist pucks, but not many actual big name goal scorer one


The jersey I want has lasted since 05/06 so maybe it will still be available. I kind of want someone to buy it, this way I don't have to look at it anymore.

I still have the puck list from 2006 if you want to look through it to see what he had back then. I look at it now and say what a dumb***** I was for not buying more but I didn't want to spend the money because of other purchases.

Didn't one of the Detroit players want his goal puck, but it still made it to auction.

It did go to auction and the winner of the auction actually gave it back to the player.



When I was watching the replay of Syvert's goal, I really thought Carter deflected it when it went between his legs. I just watched the replay and it does look like Carter touched it. It's a real subtle deflection so the refs wouldn't be able to see it live and I guess Carter didn't want to take credit for it?

Carter was interviewed on CBC during the 2nd intermission and he basically said he tipped it. I was waiting for the rest of the game for them to change it but they never did

I was thinking both Thornton and Carcillo first period jerseys will go for a lot. With those jerseys both being in the first fight ever in a Winter Classic game. Thornton is having a signing Friday night in Boston area , if I can make it to it. I will ask him about his jersey.

Nice they will be getting sticks and helmets. I'd love to score something from the game, if anything stays cheap. I see on practice pucks they have nice looking MGG WC holograms with serial #'s on them.

I just have to remember that it was just a regular season game played outside and not something like the stanley cup finals.

The Flyers are supposed to switch to this style jersey next year so I don't know if it's really worth it to pay the extra cash just for the patch. If the money from the sale went to charity then it would be a different story, I wouldn't mind spending extra cash for that.

Might have to go to the recycling center and sell some copper and scrap metal I have lying around to get some funds.

that would be fairly close to cost. It would be shipped UPS and they ship UPS expedited(2-3 day may actually be called something else) by them doing this it saves Canadians brokerage fees . Considering the fact that these pucks will sell in the 100's of dollars the brokerage fee saved alone would be $40+

I think Thornton kept his 1st period jersey it did not go to the HOF. I was just at the Hall of Fame in November i will check my photos I want to say there was a Blackhawks WC jersey in there . The Red Wings for there own archive kept Hossa's period 1 jersey. As for the noname players the HOF got I want to say the Bruins/and or Meigray decided who they got

One thing i found out about the Wings/Hawks period 2 jerseys that were auctioned off is that because of the price they sold and who bought them none that i know of have been offered for resale(ebay auction house etc) . So if you want one dig deep

A couple of the Wings period 1 jerseys that were sold by the team have changed hands (quite a few in the 1st couple of weeks) and after that Franzen and Stuart nothing else


Some of the best buys (if you can call it that) came in the auctions ending early on NHL.COM as more and more auctions ended buyers scrambled to win a jersey and bid up guys that wouldnt normally be bid up ie Rafalski selling for more than Lidstrom, Zetterberg etc.

Lastly for the Turco stuff is a set of gloves that I wasn't too sure about. I had to ask Marty's dad Gino if these were the gloves that Marty had for the 2006 Olympics. Since he hadn't seen any of the practices or the evaluation camp skates he wasn't too sure either (Marty never played in the tournament). So he sent the link to Marty and Marty confirmed they were in fact the gloves he wore for the Olympic camp, practices and would have worn had he played. Anyways once confirmed I won them on the bay and they finally came in... His 2006 Olympic practice/evaluation camp worn gloves....

This jersey doesn't have a lot of wear to it, but love the fact it was worn for two of the games played in Europe. There are two puck marks on the chest of the Penguin.

This jersey was worn for all the Penguins home playoffs games in the first three rounds. When I found out this jersey was available, I had to have it. This jersey is absolutely hammered. The sleeves and numbers on the back are pink from the crossbar/post paint while the sleeves and other parts of the jersey are covered in puck marks. I have photomatched it to a bunch of pictures as well

Went to a Shawn Thornton signing tonight near Boston. I did ask him if he kept his first period fight jersey from the Winter Classic. That in NHL auctions of Winter Classic jerseys his was from third period and everyone else was from first. He said that he did indeed keep it. I told him that it was a nice piece of history. He said yeah, that is why he wanted to keep it himself. He was very nice. I had him sign 8x10 from the fight. Had him inscribe 1st Winter Classic fight. I did see a couple game used sticks behind him. They may have been mail order and saw someone in line getting a gamer stick signed.

Jules did Flyers have much game used stuff at game last night?

There were less items last night, don't know if they sold the items or just didn't put them out. Found out the last time that they switch the booth over to Sixers items, during Sixers games. So I guess they are constantly taking items down and putting them up.

This time there were no helmets, less goal pucks, Biron pads were gone, more skates and gloves. Couple of autographed jerseys. Carter gloves were $200. Mika Pyorala stick for $125. Maybe about 6 sticks and sticks are on the wall and you can't see the names on the sticks. They had a bunch of photo plaques for sale on one wall.

It looked like a half a.s.s.e.d booth you see at a flea market with stuff all over the place. The biggest problem is that 95% of the things don't have a name or a price on them so you have to sit there and ask, "Who's stick is that, who's skates, how much for this, how much for that" On top of that, the woman that takes care of the booth doesn't even know the players names. After seeing no names or prices I said screw it and left the booth

Nice to see the comparison of pre order vs auction prices. Pretty much everyone who pre ordered paid more. Carcillo fight jersey was going to have a huge premium on it. I expected that one to get a lot of high bids. The Pronger pre order buyer must be kicking themselves. I was a little surprised how low his jersey sold in the auction.

I know a couple guys that won the lottery, to purchase tickets through the Flyers and said it was the biggest waste of money they ever spent because the seats were horrible

It will be interesting to see what these sticks bring in, along with Bruins helmets. Leighton stick has some really sweet matches on getty. I still have game on dvr in hd and mostly was looking for Bruins sticks on it. A few players you can tell switched sticks during the game. I know some rotate sticks each period. Paille switched brands all together in the game. He used a red Easton in first 2 periods, then went with Bauer Vapor in third. The Marco Sturm stick is already over 1,400. Wonder if guy who bought the winning goal puck is going for the stick.

Only 1 thing went over a grand. Savard helmet went for 1,010. Other top priced helmets were Bergeron 820 and Chara 720. Bergeron gloves went for more than his helmet at 860 and Savard gloves went for 650. Quite a few things went for less than $300. Thomas had most spendy jersey from the game auctions, but his pants went for just 220. Chara gloves only went for 260 and Morris helmet for 265. I didn't see Thornton helmet get put up. I wonder if he kept that. Or if it went to HOF. I was hoping his gloves would have went cheaper. Got out my price range. Another round Thursday night.

Im not sure what helmets normally sell for but im guessing 700+ is good money for them.

The lineup card from the winter classic went for $2000.

I went to Detroit on Monday to get some stuff signed by Jimmy Howard and Val Filpulla so i was able to pick up some of my jerseys that have been vacationing in Detroit the past couple of months so i will have an update with 6 jerseys coming as soon as i have time to take some photos

yes they were doing a signing at DCsports . The whole redwing team did a signing at the Hall of Fame in November but Filpulla and Franzen were hurt and missed the signing as well as coaches Brad McCrimmon and Jim Bedard . I was able to get Mccrimmon at AJ's in Toronto and Franzen at the Red wings season ticket holders open house and then Filpulla on Monday so im left with Jim Bedard to complete it . I have a friend that works for the Wings in the press box . Im going to ask him how well he knows Bedard maybe he can hook me up if not im going to show up at Bedards goalie school this summer

Well I didn't win anything last night and got shut out of any Winter Classic stuff. My one sleeper item I was hoping would go for $200 or less was Sobotka stick. It had great wear and a couple great video matches on it and thought his stick would go cheap. I mean he is fringe NHLer. Wrong, I'm sure some others must have had same matches on it, it went for $400.
It was interesting to see what odd ball type stuff sold for last night. Top price on sticks were Bergeron at $1,597. It also had some nice video and photo matches on it. Strum stick sold for 1501. The sick Thomas stick 1221. Syvert first goal stick went for 1,270- how many players have authenticated first goal sticks like him. Leighton stick went for 660, it also had some sweet matches that are easy to find. Chara practice jersey went for 1k, most went pretty reasonable in the 200-300 hundred ranges for most non stars. Wonder how many got the complete unny besides the Ryder collector.

Lightish use overall, but a great looking stick.

won tickets to last nights game, went to the little rack of game used sticks.. lots of Phaneufs lol.. all $150, except for one, which was for some reason only $40, so I picked it up..

Also found a Warrior stick for $10, with no number on it, but it looked exactly like an $80 Giordano stick, so I bought that too.. it wasn't til the ride home that I saw it says GIO further down the shaft on it.. great wear on the blade tape, huge chunk out..

I have no idea on the rookie seasons jersey but a recent Modano game used jersey will cost you $1250 if you wait for a Meigray sale or Gameworn auction. the last one at auction sold for around $1150(including bp)

I would say that a rookie Modano would probably cost you some serious coin, maybe around 4k-5k mainly cuz North Star jersey fetch quite a bit and since it would be a Mikey it would run high.
