I did put a modest bid on the lone hockey card they had up. Put the bid in a month ago and forgot about it. Today, I get a winning bidder notification e-mail.....I can't believe what I won...and for the price. I just hope they come through....

yeah...I've been here most of my 27 year life. I have never really met another Flyer fan either. Its hard enough to find a hockey fan out here. Thats why every year i have center ice and go to the anaheim/Los Angeles/Phoenix games if they travel out west.

What do his sticks usually sell for?

Red Wings sticks went down tonight on nhl.com. Glanced over the completed prices. The game issued Hasek was highest at $910. The stick showed great use and I bet was used in other games, just not the last home game these sticks were to come from. If you look at some close, the game issued sticks show more use than some of the game used listed one's. I wonder if player's just grab a stick from there stash and signed one and turned it in for the alumni auction. I'm no expert on sticks, but wouldn't most goalies use a stick for a few games?

Well for goalies its hard to say game issued since they still do use it in warm-ups for that night. So it probably did see some use, just not in the actual game.

I know he signed and gave one to the kid that got the jersey off his back (and strangely, that stick had white tape on the knob :confused: ). The stick doesn't show normal game wear that I've got on his other sticks, ie worn out bottom of the blade, slash marks on top of the blade or bottom of the shaft etc. The one he gave me certainly doesn't have any of those marks, but at least it's taped and waxed and ready to go, I think it was just an extra. He had three in his hands to give away after the Calgary game. Luckily, that stick has the 'gift' thing going for it, instead of the GW ;)

Flyers sticks end tonight. Can't believe the Gagne's over $400 and the Carter's almost at $300. The Flyers let you mail order game used auto'd sticks of both for $300 and $250 respectively a month or so ago. Glad I got both then.

May go after the Richards depending on how high it goes....but I have two already. Also eyeing the Ruzicka and a few others.

Like Brew said I know the cost on most sticks is very expensive. I read that the cost of doing the Pink sticks alone was over $300, with repainting and the initial cost of the player's stick. Probably why they didn't start said auctions any cheaper.

Assuming a few years means it was worn in 02/03 or later: If it's on nhlgameworn.com, it's from the original inventory from the NHL Gameworn Program so you're probably safe. However, if it's on meigray.com, they may have just gotten it recently (plus, as avs mentioned, if there is an asterisk it means it is on consignment and probably won't be more than 10% off, if that).

I've got a few Flames shirts that I'll be keeping my eye on... hope they're still there come July!

Nice, nothing like breaking a Meigray box open. I had my first stick box opening. Really impressed with how FanDepot runs these nhlpa stick auctions. Nobody special (CorySarich Lighting) but these sticks are awesome. Well worth the opening bid price. Almost mini works of art on how everything is painted on and the metallic blue paint on this stick. I want to get another one from the remaining teams left. Here are some pics......

and this is the really weird thing on this stick. It says the stick was signed and used by Cory following the April 12, 2007 game. I thought that was odd. Considering that date the Lighting played Devils in New Jersey in the Playoffs. SO I was thinking that maybe the P. on the top handle of the tape may mean Playoffs. Just a guess, I could probally be wrong. I know the auction stated that these sticks were from the last home game of the regular season. I know it's a long shot, but anyone else win a Lighting stick from these auctions and what does your COA say for the game it was from.

Thanks for letting me know guys. One of them does have the *. ****!!! Now the jersey is $495 which I think is a good deal and its a 3rd jersey. However, the player in my mind is way way overrated but still a good player so I will have to think about it more. Now in regards to the other player there are many jerseys from the last few season of him but the one i was looking at is from 00-01. Now a question to the guys that have been in collecting jerseys longer then me. The jersey has not changed over the years, so outside of repairs is there anything that would make the jersey a higher value if its older? It was not used in the playoffs either year, and the player did not do anything big in either of those years. So, which one should I get? The 00-01, 05-06 or 06-07

Do many player's use Mission sticks? I see on the Thrashers auctions Brad Larson has a awesome looking one of those. It's only one I've seen of that brand up that's up from any of the remaining teams. If only the last 3 teams would ever get listed.

Warrior is slowly rising to popularity and a lot more NHL players are using them. They are such a nice stick. They have an absolute great feel to them. That is what I use now after I tried them out.

Players that I know use Warrior. Robitaille(Last year), Weight, Fedorov, Kopitar, Blake, Holmstrom, Comrie, Kovalev and others.

Kovy, Hossa, Slava Kozlov, Zhitnik, Mellanby, and Hnidy all used Warrior sticks for the Thrashers. I know Ozolinsh used Warrior sticks for a while last year as well.

The Buffalo home blue jerseys were sold tonight on NHL.com. The cheapest jersey from the set went for $600 Mair. Drury and Briere had 2 jerseys each in the set. Those guys both sold in 1000+ range. Ryan Miller was top price at $1575.........

It's likely used, but the extent of use is questionable. I remember seeing about 5-6 Phaneuf sticks at the Saddledome this past year (IIRC, they were $250-$300 each). Like the photos above, they showed some wear at the top of the stick (from his gloves), but little visible wear on the blade (only general wear and one or two puck marks per stick on the white tape). It looks like it may have been used and then retaped (and then used very briefly after that), but that would just be speculating on my part...

Wow that guy has some amazing stuff in his collection. I was just looking it over. Great pictures. Especially his photo matched Turco mask and Malkin stick. I see he also has AO pink stick from last year. Did anyone on here win any of them from those auctions. Were they all painted the same way his Ovechkin is. With just the ribbons on them? I kinda like the way they added the extra stuff I've seen on this year's versions.

That David Wright bat is awesome. Did you get it from a steiner auction? Does it have both a steiner and MLB autenticated holograms on it? That is about as rock solid as it gets. Nice ball marks, i know it's tough to photo match bats, but you have something to look for at least...

YES has a steiner sticker and letterand mlb authentication which is not in the data base of course.I bought it from someone that has an inside track on Mets items before they hit the site or auction.

Well I was a little worried on how low some of the bidding was on Meigray NBA auctions were at before they ended tonight. Well some of that stuff went for giant cash. Considering the jerseys were pre-season games from a Europe Live tour, but all had unique one of a kind designs to make up for that. Brew, the jersey is from 06/07 set 1, so they would have worn it from October to mid december or there abouts. It is the home navy jersey. The best marking it has is on the front, right underneath the Nucks logo, there is silver marks....looks like silver sharpie to be honest, lol.

Usually the stuff that is considered "used" by NHL standards is still in good condition for the general public... while the helmets probably shouldn't be re-used, stuff like gloves and sticks can still be pretty decent (I'm not sure about skates since most NHL stuff is custom, but if it fits, why not?).

Of course, "cheap prices" are all relative...

Thanks for the pic. I don't like it when the players name isn't stamped. I know it probably has to do with Bourque having a contract with Sher-wood and all his sticks are like that but it still looks like a stick you can pick up in any store and use. Coffey's sticks are the same way.

But I guess the "Handcrafted exclusively for Raymond Bourque" probably isn't on the in-store model.

Game used MLB authenticated baseball for $25, I think Pirates have some on mlb.com for that price for a bin price. There are quite a few things under $100. There were a few sellers unloading tons of Colorado Rockies jerseys with team letters for about half the price of an authentic. SOME WERE SELLING FOR AROUND $30! In the Meigray sale I'm sure Texas Rangers, NY Giants and Eagles stuff will be half off. You could get a gamer for $60-$70!

Heres A true story.....

I was at an auction 5 years ago in a small town here in PA. It was raining and they had boxed lots outside. My father and i wanted to purchase some of the sports memorbillia they had inside, but before they'd sell that the boxes had to go.

So we were buying up boxed lots at prices from 1o cents to a buck. They got to one with an old wooden baseball bat in it. Im an avid athlete and knw it was probably a 1960's or 70's bat, so i bought the lot for fifty cents. I took the bat and donated teh rest of the box to a local charity.

When home the bat was the last thing i inspectedGot a pretty nice haul that saturday). I look at the bat, see its a Joe DiMaggio model, and it didnt have a number engraved in the bottom knob. With my knowledge of bats, that made me curious. I remove the black tape o the handle to find 1 inch baseball bat nails. I understand these are rare and now my mind was racing.

So i get in contact via email with Mr. Dave Bushing, a getleman thhough Louisville Slugger, who asked for pics. I send the pics thinking hes gonna tell me it was store bought and altered by someone. He asks me to call him, im thinking oh boy did i buy somethig i shouldnt have?!?

I Call Mr. Bushing and he explains that at Louisville Slugger in order to authenticate bats and to be able to date them they add and take away small things in the logo, ie periods and numbers. He said that he needed to meet but what he believed i hade was a game used Joe DiMaggio bat from 53-56. Turns out he was correct and i sold him the bat for 12K, he said it would take about 2K to restore and would be worth about 30K. I didnt have the money to restore so i sold it.

i have newspaper articles i can scan and show u guys when i have time, hopefully this is an interesting read for some of my fellow boardies

I was looking through the Daniel white pictures as well. You can usually tell if it is an easy photomatch or not. Sure it is easier when you see the jersey,
but there are chances of doing it without the jersey like when I found the picture of the Belanger for kingsfan with a whole in the arm.

I dont see anything in the black circle on the photo even with less contrast and zooming it. It just looks white. I also dont see the couple under the 22 would be so close together on the potential photomatch then they are on the jersey even at different angles.

If I had to say one way or the other I would say that they dont match.

I dont see anything in the black circle on the photo even with less contrast and zooming it. It just looks white. I also dont see the couple under the 22 would be so close together on the potential photomatch then they are on the jersey even at different angles.

If I had to say one way or the other I would say that they dont match.yeah, on the big jersey pic, I can't see anything directly under the numbers, but the tall red circle, it looks like a repair is there, which would be the black hole in the game pic. i know it's stretching :o

It didnt come with an LOA. It came with kind of a Temp one from Carrie saying that as soon as they can they will send out the real LOA. Also it is going to be pretty hard to photomatch since there really isnt any wear on it.

Really the only sort of wear on it is a few places where the dark blue under the light blue is fraying through in a couple of places. There is also a board burn on the sleeve with the 13 on it and a couple of board burns on the dark blue sleeve. The board burn on the light blue sleeve or the fraying next to the A might be the best chance of a photomatch if I can get pics. There are like only 4 pics of the jersey on getty and I already have the two from the playoff game from sportsline when you could still get the big ones, so it doesnt look good.

I have a pair of Priest Holmes cleats. They have his number on the heels, and still have dirt from Arrowhead stuck on the soles. I will post pics later.

Not really just some seams coming off and a black mark right at the seam where the front and back meet on the right side. A couple small ones on the left sleeve but the 3rd set jersey was only used in like 6 games or something like that.

Hey guys. I finally recieved my Gagne "game use" stick yesterday. To say the least i have serious doubts about it being used. The stick is shiny new with absolutely no marks at all. There is no tape on either end of the stick and no residue of tape being present at any time. I think i am going to give the Flyers store a call and see what is going on.

Yeah, to say im pissed would be an understatement. I ordered the stick 2 months ago and just recieved it yesterday. I figured this would be my best(and most legit) shot at getting a one90 that Gagne used. When i opened up the stick i did what i usually do and completely inspected it. First thought was that this is a very nice stick, but this damn thing has no use to it at all. I couldnt believe that there was no marks or even a tape job at the butt end. Not even a LOA accompanied the stick. Sad part of all this is that it was ordered through the Flyers directly via their Skate Zone in Vorhees. I have been trying to reach the Skate Zone all day to no avail. I will keep everyone updated on what happens.

Ouch. I was told I was one of the first in line for my Gagne. And I heard they ran out quickly. I was told he was gonna use a bunch of sticks during the last game. Seems to me they took more orders than they could handle. Totally the fault of the Skate Zone. Hopefully they get you one from the upcoming season to replace it.

Mine has very minimal use. Probably one of the dozen or so he used the last few games. It's taped on the butt end, but it's longer than the others I have of him. There is some faint tape residue on the blade....so I'm guessing it was used slightly before it was thrown into the 'game used' pile.

I was looking forward to mine also, but now, it's probably my least favorite stick of my four Gagne sticks. It's weird, because my Jeff Carter is awesome from them. Great use, and a really sweet stick. The Gagne is just weak. I probably won't order from them again if they do another one.

I will order from the NHL alumni though. Got my Ruzicka yesterday...and it is SWEET! Tons of use, although I doubt it was used in the final game. I've seen pics of that game and the stick in those pics looks new. Here's mine:

Sweet stick Vegas. I was also real impressed how FanDepot handled the NHLPA stick auctions. I got a Tampa Sarich and my COA says it was from April 12th a playoff game in Jersey. At least they have good pictures of the sticks so you know what you are getting. The Devils are now up , still no Ducks or Coyotes....

Well, i just got off the phone with Ryan at the skate zone. I feel like he is my damn brother i have talked to him so much. It turns out that they ran out of gamers a few weeks ago and only had his model stick with auto on it. Suppossedly he sent out an email offering a $100 rebate for the buyer's if they still wanted the auto'd stick. Somehow i didnt get it:rolleyes: . I guess he failed to mention that to me when i talked to him 10 out of the last 15 days.
What's the solution here? He offered me one of 3 remaining players gamers'. Those were Sami kapanen, Geoff Sanderson and Mike York. Yipee!! I also told him there was no way i am paying even $200 for a plain auto'd stick when i purchased an auto'd gamer for $300. So long story short he is trying to get me the stick for free or it will be going back to Philly and ill take my $ elsewhere(meigray sale). He also mentioned that nothing will be done over the phone next year and all will be set up through the Flyers shop online ao they can limit the # of orders. Man what a screwed up process. 2 months of waiting for this all to be extremely dissapointed. Not trying to run the Flyers and the Skate Zone thrugh the mud, but this was the worst scenario i have gone through in any of my hobbies. Well, i am now back in the market for a used Gags one90

Yes that is the case, but the worst part of it all was i was the 3rd overall order in. Not for Gagne, but overall. I just kept getting bumped down the list since i didnt bother them enough in the first month after ordering

Yes, I have always wanted a gamer of the "Wild Thing" This is a 1990-91 jersey from his first season with the Capitals after they acquired him in a trade with the Leafs in January of 1991. He only played 3 1/2 seasons here but I enjoyed every minute of it. He had it all. He could skate like the wind, fight, score and unleash a 100 MPH + slapper but knee injuries shortened what would have been a brilliant career. He was also a great interview.
