Great ****ing game, this game is sick!. Top notch acting and the graphics hold up to Gears of War. I love it. Its a great combination of John Woo, Goodfellas, and Hellraiser. haha I love this game. The graphic novel looks cool too, might pick it up.
I give this game a 9/10 :):):):):)

I think there is a thread about this, but i'm not sure. I still need to try this game out, I might rent it tomorrow night after work. I hear the online multiplayer kicks ass.

This is an instant classic, one of the better titles I have played in a WHILE
Because of all the side quests and environment I would classify it as a hybrid of Gears/Condemned/Oblivion.
GREAT GAME!

The Single Player gets a solid 9/10.
The Multiplayer gets a crappy 5/10.
Seriously, multiplayer blows on this game. You don't get any darkness powers or anything, just a basic shooter, and in some game types you can change into a darkling. Woo hoo.
I really feel they should have made this game 3rd person perspective.
Beating the single player will leave you very satisfied, but you won't have a reason to keep it afterwards.

Yeah so I beat Darkness a few days ago. It was great, but in the end, I found the story a bit empty and depressing. The ending is like something out of Silent Hill. Very sad and incomplete.
But the comic is supposed to be very dark, so I guess they had no choice.

Aww man, he doesn't have the cool armor.
Wasn't this supposed to have 3rd person game play as well? I read that a while back. Guess it turned out to be fake. Oh well, I still wanna play it.

Yeah the single player is awesome, worth playing over and over again. It has a good amount of depth with side missions and lots of areas to explore, definitely not your typical "follow this set path" FPS game.
Multiplayer to me is unplayable, but I didn't buy it for multiplayer so it's not a big deal to me.

When I heard that this game was coming out I was excited as hell, I'm a fan of the comics so I knew that I was gonna like this game. But I didn't think I would like it this much! OMG they did a great job on everything, I loved hearing how the characters sounded and now anytime I read the comic I think of their voices. I think this is the best single player game on the 360, multiplayer is a very different story but I love this game, please make a sequal or a comic that finishes the game. BTW, they have Darkness comics that are kinda about the games story line and feel but they really follow it, they're called levels and I think level 5 is gonna be the last one.
Here's a page from level 1, the artwork in this comic is amazing!:

Yeah, It was a great experiance. Tell me, since you know the story well. What was the deal with the whole World War II hell everytime he dies? Why were all those guys stuck fighting the undead Nazis for eternity?
First I figured it was truly Hell, then they mentioned it was a dream. So I dunno.

Yeah, it's a nice game, did complete it a few days ago and hope there will be a 2nd...
The multiplayer is a bit of a dissapointment, it can't really compete with other shooters but yeh the single player has enough to be a classic. The ending feels a bit incomplete...

It's WW I inside the mind of the Darkness, it keeps Jackie there while it heals his body so he never truly dies.

Yeah, what he said. But why is Jackie's ancestor there? Is he just there to ***** with Jackie's mind or is he an actual being trapped in the mind of The Darkness?

He's actually trapped inside the Darkness. I don't know about the others, though. I know the Germans aren't really Germans, though.

Ok, thanks for confirming about Anthony. Yeah it's pretty obvious the Germans aren't Germans, just looks at their faces and listen how they talk. In Level 2 [the comic book] *Spoiler Alert!* Jackie goes to to The Other World and all of the Allies think they're fighting real Germans. But in the comic, they don't kinda look like real Germans, they're all those Shlogg monsters in Nazi suits [Shlogg is the giant monster you fight with the turret]. Jackie can of course tell these aren't normal Germans, he also thinks he's in Hell not in The Darkness.

played, its a cool game, i like how no one mentions the fact that Mike Patton is the voice for the darkness, it made it so evil and creepy sounding. Good stuff. This game reminded me a lot like the Chronicles of Riddic k: escape from butcher bay.

but this thread was created a day before yours? ;)
i don't see myself playing this anymore after i'm done, i like how you put it, its more a chore then anything, the one thing that annoys me the most, the cut scenes everytime you take the train, or go to a different part of the city, i don't want to hear him talk all the time, sure the first few times were interesting, now it's just annoying, and you can't even skip it till the end of it. Lame.

I picked the game up last night, so far I'm liking it a lot.
And I was thrilled to see Mike Patton as the voice of The Darkness. That's why I'm listening to Mr. Bungle right now!
