"For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat," he was quoted as saying. "There's been lots of product that looked like last year's product, that looked a lot like the year before."

Considering his company has basically been rebranding the same sports games from year to year he should promptly try to remove his foot from his mouth

I like a lot of EA games though, but they do love doing basically the same game over and over. It's practically their business model, so why is he *****ing about it?

EA does burnout right? cos that's about the only series they're putting out that's worth a damn......maybe FIFA as well......

All EA does is buy out other game publishers and developers and take what used to be a good game IP (take Ghost Recon for example) and dumb it down for the casual market while whoring it out by releasing a new version nearly once a year. I really can't think of one game that they made better rather than worse. What they have done though is make these games profitable for them, so who can argue with that?

I dont get why people are ripping on EA. For starters, extremely popular games like Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid series, Grand Theft Auto Series among many others have done the same thing as EA: Releasing "new" games that have had their gameplay tweaked, had the graphics upgraded, etc. The only thing different is really the story, and it isnt like the Madden game can change that every year (for example).

Maybe because those other series are REALLY good and most of what EA makes is average. :p

No, Battlefield is the only series EA does right.....almost.

At least, its the only really fun game to play that they've made that deserves looking at.

The fact that it's EA saying this is priceless. Irony FTW.

UBI is almost as bad as EA, MGS is nothing like an EA game (the sequals have been very spread out), and I don't play GTA so I'm not going to comment on that. But of course EA isn't the only one, what I am talking about here is the big business side of gaming slowly taking over the little developer who is making games because he likes them. EA is probably the best at this with their strong business model, but they aren't the only one. It's not that it's "wrong" of them, it just isn't good for gamers.
