Regarding the Comment by Bronf, well, not sure what you're exactly referring to below, i don't think i even saw you pass by, however i noticed there were a handful of Mcfarlane Vendors and a BUNCH of car dealers, vintage toys, marvel, plush toys, g.i.joes, Transformers, Star wars, etc.

The toy show itself was a success for a bunch of vendors with specialty figures as well as Mcfarlane guys, i spoke with the 2 other guys and they did average, considering we had the Sports card expo next door.

Unfortunetely, I didn't get a chance to browse, or even shop at the Sports Card Expo next door. From some of the posts I've read on this thread i noticed that some of the HTF figures were overpriced. I agree with all of you regarding some of those outrageous prices, $500 for a Bourque, are you kidding me? (steal a line from the Swirsk) :)
Though, as collectors, you guys can't expect to get the figures for free, right? I would think half or close to half of the Mcfarlane dealers at the Sports Card Expo are from the US or outside of Ontario. You need to factor their time, effort, various costs in acquiring those figures not only to break even but to turn a modest profit as well, Also, a 10*10 table cost $500. You can't just go in and expect to find a $200 figure for $50, when you know they have to cover a $500 table cost, $1000 for 2 (i may be off by a few bucks).
Even Ebay is out of whack sometimes, so you can't always use that as a barometer.

I"m talking about as a whole for the last 5 years, the toy shows have less and less things that I found interesting. There used to be a lot more other Spawn, Marvel, Transformers and other action figure stuff in the past years. I'm saying that both Skyway and Sunday's show are bad in an action figure collector standpoint, not in how much sales dealers are getting.
Skyway and Sunday's show were my first ever Toy Shows and I have to admit that both were quite disappointing. Since I have never attended one in the past, I technically don't have anything to base it on.. but I do know that they both left me wondering why I wasted my time and money. I guess I just expected there to be alot more variety and harder to find stuff plus LOTS more Sports Picks.

This is true.. as collectors, we understand that dealers have overhead costs etc but if the dealers have really whacked prices and questionable attitudes, all they are doing is burning their own bridges with us collectors. As a community (especially the GTA crew) we're a fairly close-knit family and word of mouth goes a long way. If a dealer is fair and treats fellow collectors how they themselves want to be treated, then there's a much better chance of a return customer that brings his/her friends along for a similar experience.

Some dealers might think .. meh, who cares, so I lost ONE customer. Plenty of fish in the sea. Well, in cases such as ours, the GTA crew is fairly tight and if one of us has a problem with a dealer.. chances are pretty good that the rest of us will feel the same way. That's ELEVEN potential customers gone. And we tell two friends..and they tell two friends..and they tell two friends and those friends tell two friends and eventually it'll turn into quite the festive orgy of writhing limbs, but I digress..

I go by the name of Chubbs and it was nice meeting some of the Toronto collectors this weekend (I'm the asian guy with the sideways hat with Mike aka reboundicon).
