Going to make a run for one in a few months... setting aside $50-100US each paycheque to budget for it. (Buying AMEX money orders as a savings method)

As you can tell, I am new to the board and new to this thread. I collect exclusively hockey figures. The figures I collect fit into 5 groups: Goalies, Legends, Retros, Leafs and Red Wings.

The difficult part for me is that I live in downtown Toronto and I do not own a vehicle so I am generally at the mercy of eBay when trying to acquire the chase figures. I tried the case route for NHL 8 but only got 1 chase out of 2 cases (thankfully it was the blue Belfour). This has led to having nothing in the way of trade bait. Simply put, I need some chase figures and I am hoping someone can help.

- NHL 5 Roy Red Chase
- NHL 8 Robitaille Purple/Gold Chase
- NHL 8 Linden Blue Chase
- NHL 8 Chelios White Chase (deal pending)

Welcome to the board. If you're in the downtown area you can always try Silver Snail but I guess you'll have a lot of competition there. Welcome to the thread too....here in the Toronto DisFUNtional Family we thread we try to help out each other's collection by offering our extras to each for cost. We always welcome some good people to the group. Unfortunately, I can't help you with the list as I've slowed down in collecting and primarily collect football but feel to mingle with the rest of the crew here.

We also meet up periodically to trade and shoot the sh1t, so if you see us meeting up....you're welcome to swing by. We're gunna meet up for the Superbowl so maybe you can do some trades with some of the people here and meet up on that day.

Yup, computer is at the shop. Apparently Nortons deleted my Windows registries so I have to get my computer reformated. I think it's a sign for me to get a new computer anyways as I've had this computer for 3 years. Anyone interested in a Pentium 3, with a 933mhz Intel processesor? Hey how about a little pool for Super Bowl at my house. Everyone chips in so much....that we discuss on here is fair and the winner gets a figure supplied by me. Just catching up on the thread and seeing some unpleasant things that are a little troubling.

That sucks about the 3rd Jersey Roy, there has to be more out there, keep up the fight and you'll find one.
Unfortunately, eBay won't do anything for you...
Earlier this year I won a Mario Lemieux Autographed card (ITGU) for $9.99. The guy had cancelled all bids near the end of the auction because he didn't get enough money for it and I use a sniper program for any ebay items and I won in the last seconds. The guy told me that is was already sold and eBay wouldn't do anything about it... basically told me that it is too bad and we should try to settle it ourselves.
Speaking of eBay, did people know that they just raised their commission fees to 8% from 5.25%, so ending auctions early for outside money to avoid fees etc will likely become more common.

Don't worry about it Rich....Bronf seems to hold the same passion for fair play as I do. We both just display it differently. Bronf's articulation of situations is much more desireable at times then my crash and burn method. Mine is more fun though :spawnskul I think we all hate to see a fellow BROTHER get screwed by another board member...that is why we have this post. Now we know who to stay away from!

Mike...you maybe on the bottom today but back on top tomorrow. You may have lost out but think about everyone who is here in support. Buddy that is a wealth NOTHING can compare to. You'll get your Roy and it's this experience that will make it that much SWEETER.

Steve, the ones that Ken looks at are the Bowen Statues. Those don't move while Marvel Legends figures can be posed in many different ways as they are super articulated. As for the series 7 one, they'll have them Comic World at Bramalae City Centre or other toy/comic stores as I don't think 7 has much of the mass retail stores yet.

Alot of stress I notice on the boards , everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax,Like Bronf mentioned, these figs are not the end all be all. They're supposed to be fun !!

Also like Bronfy mentioned maybe it is better for some to take a break from the boards once in a while if they are stressing you out. One thing I've learned is that you haft to have thick skin and not be too sensitive as too let others get to you. So fire away the slams - I love it !!:p ;)

well, when this thread started i was away for school and therefore didn't check it much. mostly was for the upcoming meeting. figured it would die afterwards like all the others had. boy was i wrong. so now that i'm back in toronto area i'm feeling left out. i am now attempting to read all 230 pages here. pretty dumb, eh? on page 10 now. wish me luck.
