i decided to buy the entire lot of 13 binatechs (japanese versions all metal) from a dealer in vancouver and it cost me about $600cdn...and this is considered a good deal since the snail sells them for $79.99cdn each...

and all this means i can't take the day off work...and i gotta make every little penny this weekend to pay for my horrible addiction...

i really hope you guys have fun...i miss kens =(

Anyone who collects knows that $500 for that particular figure is expensive, if they are willing to pay that much then they either have too much money or didn’t research the figure they wish to buy.

Now, I’ve never directly dealt with you on any form of a buy/sell transaction. However, with all these personal attacks and so on, I don’t want any form of your business of any kind in the future. Now you’ll be thinking, “I was going to Terry anyway or I’d rather pay retail” Cool, go for it. No worries here. Terry is a good guy. Me and him have nearly the same prices on most things, except he trades. Then you made some more dumb comments about certain dealers not coming to Ken’s Party. Ken is a good guy, I’ve met him a few times and most recently at the Sports Card Expo, but ‘hoping’ that neither one of us would go because we’d insult Ken by offering lowball offers on his extensive NFL collection, well you’re wrong.

Our problem with Gretzky99 goes way beyond the Expo but since you don't care, not sure if I really need to explain it to you but maybe you'll get enlightened. Go ask how many Toronto boardies get lowball offers from him? Go ask how many people enjoy his antics passing around copies of his collection at the Expo to show off and that ****y attitude. Not to mention how he dismisses people over deals here via PM but I'll let other people talk for themselves on that. Yeah, I'd really want to deal with a guy like that. But, if you really don't care...you don't need to ask.

Now, as for you...not sponging? How about lowball offers to Mike about an NFL5 set for $250 Canadian? How about after meeting only you ONCE in the Skyway show you had the balls to ask me to get you a 12 Inch Blue Gretzky for cost which you wanted me to hand deliver it to your show which wou would have hocked for $100. And not to mention your attitude of "I'll take it off your hands" like you're doing me a damn favour.

Here's a newsflash for you, we're not stupid here in the Toronto area. Many of us are friends and we KNOW when we're being taken. We TALK and gladly share about how we dislike certain local dealers. It's not our fault that certain dealers have no idea how the collecting culture of SPs is here. I might sound like a jerk but the Toronto guys know that I've always helped them and other collectors.

As for those who have dealt with you.....fine. I don't stop people from dealing with anyone. People can buy or trade from whoever they want, but don't come on here pretending you're not another greedy dealer that tries to freeload off us. The difference of why we go to Terry...he has a clue. And he has no snub attitudes that he's doing us favour or trying to have us bend over in the process.

As for growing up? Sure....I perfectly know that this thread is immature and we love making immature comments, but I don't need to grow to see the business nature of some dealers. Perhaps the growing up that needs to be done is to better know your customers and not be a jackarse of a dealer?

You can justify things however you want but my opinion of your dealer ethics remain. Just understand that you're not doing us any favours so don't expect the reverse. We don't NEED dealers for our collections so don't make it seem that we need to come to you for anything.

For Mike's deal, that's not the #'s that I heard from him. I'll let him chime in himself on you really offered. Mike's a good friend and when he tells me that you tried lowballing him, I believe him over you.

Honestly, i'm not born yesterday....you only wanted 1 Blue Gretzky to keep for yourself? That was the first day that came out and it was when you were set up at the toy show and you weren't going to sell it? Please. Considering at that time each Walmart only got 8- 12 total Blues per store. You saw me offer cost to other Toronto Family boardies and you thought you get in on it. And with figures 4 months later? You serious? What makes you think people will wait 4 months for your stuff? Hell, why even offer it as obviously most people want a fig in a short period of time, not 4 months down the road.

Yeah, for Wil's deal what you left out is that you wanted some insane price for the sets. A price nobody would buy at so that deal to Wil would be meaningless. Once again, I'll let him chime on it as well.

And your deal with Terry is exactly the point. You honestly don't know what your customers are willing to pay. Especially us here on the board. If Terry passes on you as a dealer, the price obviously can't be any good but I guess I should expect that when a dealer tries selling to another dealer.

You have not explicitly said we're stupid but the way you conduct yourself with that "I'm doing you a favour attitude" makes you look like you are implying that we are. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you got into the game late as a dealer but honestly, there's a reason why I have never bought from you and never will. And no, trading is not what seperates you from Terry. Terry knows that he's not doing anyone any favours, and his attitude reflects that. There's a humility to that, that you don't seem to understand.

Maybe if you were here as a collector first and then a dealer then maybe you have some perspective. At this point, I'm not sorry for saying what I said. That's what I think of you as a dealer and certain other dealers. This is nothing against as you, Spiros, as a person. However, you can keep thinking that you're a great boardie and dealer for us folks here in the GTA. As I say, proof is in the pudding.

as for the dealer thing...i dont want to waste my time typing out everything that went down...but all i gotta say is if you want to keep or gain customers you gotta treat them right...it doesnt hurt to give a figure or two for a good price once in a while...especially if someone spends hundreds on your figures on a regular basis...also you gotta give a little to get a little...

and selling a $3 protech for $8-9 immediately brands anyone as a scalper...its like selling a comic board and baggie for $5 to someone buying a comic from you.

true...but you could toss catfish on ebay and haul a nice $65 and buy a red yzerman for like $35-40 now that there are tons that will be tossed on ebay...

a red yzerman and avs bourque sold for $60ish for both the other day...

but yeah its a dum fig since you can buy a 3 pack and get it with a different ice base...and you can hardly see the wings logo anyways...the NHLPA figs were all sculpted in a way where you couldnt really see the players chest...very weak indeed...

but bruins bourque is still the best skater figure made by far

it looks blobby and it doesnt seem like he used decals for the #'s and logo's...and i dont think roy wore that equipment when he played for TC...i mean equipment that looked that crappy...
