Hit 3 Walmarts this morning, and got zilcho! 2 stores I missed the chase, and the other isn't out yet! Scored a nice error Nash reg without his name on the back, so it wasn't a total waste of time! :(

Went hunting today at Wally's, they didn't have em out.

Went to the Flea today and traded for NHL10 chases I need for bucarooo. Now, I only need Jagr chase, and Aebisher chase.

I have an extra Theo chase if anyone wants to swap.

hi nothing out this way i hit 2 stores and the one i missed the chase the other didn't have nhl 10 yet , but they did get in about 8 cases of nhl legends 2 i picked up a esposito chase, 2 beliveau chases and a gretzky kings chase. all for the low low price of 4.00 each. The klincher is that they are on U.S card

well, i slept in today and went to go after......i missed the boat but apparently Terry scored the mother load. Oh well...I valued sleep over toy hunting and I don't regret it. I don't want to sell my extra Theodore right now, would rather trade it for a white Aebi or white Jagr. Those are the only 2 I still need for bucarooo.

I sent a message to Rich and told him that the Modano is my priority and if I can get that for the Jones, then I will make the other trade with him.
Rich has helped me out with a bunch of figures in the past and I want to help him out, so I need to wait to hear back from him before committing to anyone else. I am also a patient guy, so if he feels he needs some time to locate it, I don't mind.

My nhl 10 hunt ended tonight....I hauled my butt to Walmart for 5 straight days before it opened and found out tonight they put them out at 8pm :mad: I was there this morning at 8am and went back at 10:15pm to check the skids and they were all out. There were two cases on the skids but somebody beat me to them. The crappy part is the guy who got them all was "an asian guy who brought pictures he printed out on his computer"...Bronf knows who I'm talking about....

OK, here is how you do it....

You need the following items to start;
- small pliers
- Power drill
- 1/16th drill bit (in most drill bit sets) or the patience to secure a penny nail into the power drill
- loop screws http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/9555/loopscrew.jpg
- fishing line
- 3" Figure

Steps to complete
1. Drill a small hole into the back of the neck of the 3" figure
2. screw in the loop screw to the pilot hole (easy to do with the pliers
3. use the fishing line to create the loop that will let you hang these from a tree

To remove the foot base, I used a large set of cable cutters and cut the 'block' off of the skate, a small hacksaw would work, as could an exacto knife.

If I have a chance I will post some pictures tonight.

ajax walmart had TONS of them yesterday. thanks for the tips chris. i'll have to see if i have any of those hooks around the house. i just might glue the bases onto the players though.

Those hooks are $2 for 20 of them at either Canadian Tire or Home Depot.

If you had of asked earlier, I would have just sent a bunch of them in the mail for you :)

Also, I just scraped the bases, they look more like ornaments without the HUGE white triangles under them. They are just going to be packed away with the ornament once the tree comes down anyway.

There is a potential problem with the Joe Thornton figure, since his hands are not alligned properly, I had to drill into his wrist and remove the knob from the hockey stick, I was then able to attach to the stick to his arm to stabilize it.

It's strange but you don't really find knock off NHL jerseys at the Pickering market. The fake hockey market seems to limited to hats and t-shirts. Their seems to be something about hockey jerseys that makes the knock off artists go "Naw that's not worth doing" it's probably the lack of a market in the states for it.

maybe it's because the availability of blank hockey style jerseys isn't there. you can find blank football style jerseys all over but not many hockey jerseys. plus they're probably harder to make with all the different colours. most football jerseys are only one solid colour. it's too bad because i could use some cheap "mitchell and ness" hockey jerseys myself. just my thoughts.

A goal would be ok, but one of those guys is a big enough story to announce on their own.

i don't necessarily think that it'll be a big announcement later, but rather that they haven't finished negotiating with the person. kind of like announcing magic johnson when it hadn't been finalized. i'd love to see a ken dryden fig, especially with his signature leaning-on-the-stick pose, but i'm not going to hold my breath on that one.

Well fellas, on Thanksgiving Day a childhood friend (I'm 41) died of an overdose. Another great friend of mine went into the hospital a couple days later bleeding internally, lost 4 pints of blood. Never did find why and now he's not bleeding or loosing blood. My mother-in-law went into the hospital a week and a half later.....she's fine but she is 79 and was bleeding from the rectum (Like Bronf does when we finish with him). She ended up having a hernia. While I am at the hospital visiting her I use her restroom and low and behold, the toilet's filled with blood and I had to be taken to the emergency room. I had a kidney stone the size of fong's pylons. 1 shot Torodol, 1 shot morphine, 2 shots of diladod (dilotta, however you spell it). I finally passed that biatch (OOWWWWW!!!!). Now my mother and my daughter are having flu like symptoms. I have been on the boards but for short periods of time...sorry I have not checked in and said hey. I have been really stressed. Forgive me.

yay for me. i decided to go to tru tonight at 10:30 to see if they unloaded the truck yet. a nice young man asked if he could help me find something, so i said the new hockey. he then offered to bring them out to me. :eek: he only brought out one case, but i scored a nash chase and a modano, which were the two chase i was most interested in. and for $9.97 each. :D it was a good day today.

Maybe the blue is just darker on the fig compared to the package, and it looks black on those! Two cases with no chase in them, then! Went to 14 stores last night between Barrie, and Markham, and not one chase figure. :mad: Went to 4 hobby type stores, 2 TRU's, 3 Walmart's, 3 Zellers, 1 Superstore, and 1 Giant Tiger! Waste of time, and gas. All I want is a fuggin blue Nash. :(
