This Collector's Edition that is listed in 2008 figure lineup, will it be a New York Yankees figure no matter what and will the 'full wall' simply be the chase version of the Rivera figure we already have?

Rivera wont be a Yankee next year so it will either have to be a retro or new team. Way NY treated Torre will not sit well with Rivera. Plus the way they dealt with him not extending him before the season upset him as well. Rivera will walk.

I doubt he will walk. Yankees will throw a ridiculous amount of $$ at him to keep him.

Yay, neither of those have anything to do with what I was talking about. Thanks toight for finding a way to troll some more of your anti-New York statements.
Now, back to the Rivera figure...

Well, it's under the "Legends" banner, it seems. I guess that means that they've gotten the OK to make it a "retro" version. Could they do it with short sleeves to make it different from the chase fig?

MLB LEGENDS COLLECTORS EDITION
- Mariano Rivera w/ Full Bullpen Wall
Maybe that means its a Yankee uniform no matter what happens.

That's what I was thinking too. However, if they are releasing the full wall as simply the chase version we had originally, doesn't that just take away the value of the chase?

Not anti-New York statements at all. Its the facts. He is probably going to walk so its either going to be a retro Yankees figure or his new team. You asked if its going to be a Yankees figure no matter what or of his new team if he goes. I gave you the answer and the reason why I thought that.
If you dont want answers to your question and the reasons behind those answers then dont ask questions. You really have some nerve calling anyone else a troll btw. Im not the one that goes thread to thread posting negative things all the time like you do.
Im done with this thread so post your response or whatever you want to do. I wont see it. I answered the question now its time to move on.

I asked Mark what if Rivera signs with a different team next year and he said "We scramble."

I thought I was on your ignore list.
Who cares why he would leave the Yankees or why he would stay? It's irrelevant. All that really matters is if the figure is already locked in or will be changed on a team change.

I hope he does walk and show the Yankees that money doesn't mean everything.

LOL!!
As far as the Rivera SP. I'm guessing it'll be in a Yanks uni. I never got the chase version with the full bellpen so this is my chance to finally procure one.

im curious, is this going to be exactly the same? if so that sucks for the people who paid alot for the original chase. i have one but would like one to open , just curious how it's going to be packaged and if this will only be available thru the club or mass market. it would be nice if they changed it up somehow, maybe add world series patches or the black band and # 10 for scooter.guess they can't do a grey chase since it's the home wall and they can't do a jackie robinson day chase since he wears that # already.

They could do the short sleeves version.

Maybe the full wall isn't Yankee Stadium?

Maybe they'll go 2000 Yankees World Series with Shea Stadium wall. :)

Is Shea Stadium's Visitor's Bullpen similar to Yankee Stadium? 'Cause I would doubt they would do any major changes to the wall other than color or advertising. As for the figure, they have to change something, because a re-release of the same thing is NOT a Collector's Edition, it is a re-issue!

so how will it be packaged?Probably in a box similar to the 2-pack box. If done right, with the backdrop as the bullpen behind the doors, and the bottom image as warning track dirt, it could be the best-looking CE yet.

If he ends up on any other American league team, could they can just put him in the away uni (or even any NL teams visiting Yankee stadium in 08)

Thought this was funny. Look what's in the description for the Mariano MLB 19 figure:
"He felt that offering the full base as a Collector's Edition figure would be cheesy - almost like a bait-and-switch."
