I just returned from TRU, just looking around, seeing whats new. Well, I saw the new Spawn 32 and the new Dragon Series ( i know this is not the toy board, but hear me out). Mark, Joe and the rest of them are feeding us the biggest line of manure ever seen. After being told countless lines about how the nets will not fit the new SP bubbles ETC. ETC., I see these figures that are AT LEAST 1 1/2 times as big as the current NFL15, NHL Legends 5 and all the new SP's. PLENTY OF ROOM FOR NETS, BASES AND STICKS. They have been telling us that "all lines will be in the new bubbles, we are trying to save our retail footprint," yadda yadda yadda...What is the REAL TRUTH?????????? Next time you go to a TRU take a look at the brand new Dragons and Spawn 32 issues and you tell me if you don't think nets and bases will fit.....BEN, here is your first test, DON'T JUST ASK SOMEONE, take a look at the finished Dragons and Spawn 32 products and tell me that they won't fit...The pics of Spawn 33 that were just put up today don't look any smaller....

I haven't seen these in person so I can't comment as to if the old base and net would or wouldn't fit
but regardless, if the clamshell on these products are deeper it likely reduces the current peg space by 2 figures

I saw Spawn 32 figures today at TRU, and yes, you are RIGHT. Plenty of room to insert nets with the goalies.

I've said it before, I'll say it again
it was never strictly about the "nets"
it was about the larger sized goalie bases plus the nets
I'm sure they could make just the nets fit but it won't do much good if you have a skater sized base to go with it

You're telling me adding a few square inches on the newer goalie bases is why they can no longer include the nets? Come on, that's completely rediculous.

Those bubbles are so big, you could easily fit a bigger goalie base in as well...

what are you talking about and what is so hard to comprehend
there are no newer goalie bases
the bases being shipped with goalies will be the same sized ones used with skaters
unless TMP is going to continue to include the old style goalie bases in their packaging (which they said they were not going to do) there is no reason to include the nets
adding a few square inches on to the skater bases or taking a few square inches off the previous bases does not make the nets usable in most cases

whether or not the previous goalie base, net, and figure could fit in the deeper Dragons/Spawn packaging has not been proven yet

Yes the big secret is out. The whose reason they have retooled all the packages, retooled for more players to have limbs that need attaching, and basically overhauled the entire package design, was a secret plan to do away with the goalie nets.

for me, the best way to get back at mcfarlane is not to buy any new releases until they hit the clearance bin for 99 cents :D
if the retailers lose money, it will eventually come back and bite TMP
