How to get the smell of smoke out of figures?

i just recieved a box full of figures i bought from ebay and all of the packages smell like cig smoke, which pees me off! how can i get the stink off? lay them outside for awhile? dealers should not be allowed to smoke inside hobby/toy shops. i'm really peed :mad:

that would really piss me off. I hate when my posessions smell like smoke because of someone else. Are they openers or displays? You could try using something like Mr Clean to scrub the packages but im not sure if thats the route you were going for.

Something like Oust spray might work too, or air them off outside

Yeah, ya gotta leave em' outside for a while. I had a similar occurance with a package of figures smelling like mothballs. I would have much rather had cigarette smoke cause mothballs make me gag.

they are all star wars figures so the cardboard smells. i can't get them wet or pee on them. i'd like to take a crap on the seller

yeah, I've had that happen one time.. once.. I don't know why.. but I got one of those envelopes that are hard as hell to open, so I thought, I'll just use my teeth(I know.. not real sanitary).. so right when I did.. of course all this air rushed out of the envelope and into my mouth.. and of course.. it was some nasty week old cig smelling smoke.. worse thing I've ever smelt...
I left that fig out on the patio all winter, lol..

The best thing I found to work is get a big box.. maybe a rubbermaid tub or something like that.. and get a new box of arm and hammer...
Either pour the arm and hammer on the bottom of the tub, or maybe on a couple paper plates and put it on the bottom of the tub, then lay a couple paper towels over it and then lay the figures over it... then close the tub.. The A&H should absorb most of the smell.. I say should cause it all depends on the type of plastic.. another method I've done, but depending on the item.. is soak it in a tub of water and oxyclean(you know.. the infomercial stuff, you can get it at walmart)... that stuff really works.. I'd use the sink, or the bathtub, soak the toy in hot water and some of the oxyclean.. then after a couple of hours.. get a soft sponge and scrub the fig.. like I said.. depends on the figure, some I wouldn't soak in water, so the arm and hammer would be better..

iI'd be ****ed. When i lived with my ex i use to flip out at Anyone who was smoking around my figs. Also i have a HUGE No Smoking Sign Here in My Room and i Make it know that if u smoke around my figures you will get Hurt :D

Buy 2 bottles of pet odor and stain remover and gently brush it over your figures and let dry. Try to test it first in a small area of your figure to make sure the paint won't rub off.

It may not be the seller who smokes. That's my situation, I don't smoke but mother does. She never comes in my room, and the door is closed most of the time, so I figured it wouldn't be bad. However, it makes no difference, that rank seeps into everything. I'm used to it so I'm a bad judge, but I had it happen not that long ago with a boardie and I felt quite bad about it. Now, whenever I've had something in my possession for a while and then try to rid of it, I'll make sure the person knows it was not from a smoke free home.

You could always smoke a few cartons of Pall Malls to get your place to smell the same as the figures, so its not as noticeable...you know the old saying, if you cant beat 'em, join 'em! ;)

When I was a teen, the guy who taught me to play the drums used to pour BW into a glass & drink it down like it was water!

My Mom Smokes but i'm in the basement and the basement door is always closed. It don't smell like smoke down here at all. When i hear her comin down i close my door

Having ingested bong water on a few occasions, I must say that its horrible, but not as bad as drinking a beer that someone dropped a cigarette butt in. Puke city on that one.:D
