Wal mart doesn't really do that, they promote that they have sales all of the time and do not have to have those type of sales.

Walmart has some great sales on Black Friday - however, Wisconsin law doesn't allow them to sell products under production costs (or something like that) so most of the really good sales aren't honored in WI(and a few other states).
You probably won't see the ad or find out about the sales until the week of Thanksgiving.

This is where you're wrong. WI Walmarts will at least attempt to find a way around this stuff. That HD-DVD player that everyone was talking about last Friday? The one I work at actually found a way around the laws to sell them for the discounted price.

How is he "wrong"? How many of the products were honored? They didn't honor everything. I know the company didn't figure out how to offer the DVD player until Saturday or Sunday (it wasn't just the store you work at, they all did it).

I'll disagree with that for sure. There are a lot of things on sale that guys want too. I wish I could attend a Black Friday sale.
We have Boxing Day though, and that's pretty much the same thing. That's when my wife and I do 90% of our Xmas shopping for each other (in store, and online).

You can get some great deals on BF, but I have a hard time getting up at 2 AM and standing in line for 3 HRS to save a few bucks.

I'm sure the ads leak out all the time, but traditionally they are in the newspapers on Thanksgiving.

you have a valid point. but CJenks is right too. I recover from eating and Lions football the day after. if I see anything I want in the ads, I make the wife do it, when she is out on the hunt :D

I usually go out on BF, before having to go into work..
Being in the food industry we'll get the Wed and Thurday off but back to work Friday..

Crazy BF promo.....we've got these new Outlets here in PA (Montgomery County, in Limerick), "Philadelphia Premium Outlets" and they're going to open at midnight on BF.
I'm sure they'll be busy Thanksgiving night, but what happens during those 2-5am hours between Thurs night & Fri morning??
Good thing there's a Starbucks there, I guess. Keep the shoppers & staff awake.
