the grunts. for halo 3 series 1.

I am hearing some places they are a two pack, others there are two seperate armor sets. and on here it only mentions one.

Can anyone confirm which is true?

Thanks!

Presumably I believe you can buy each one seperately if you want to, if some places are selling them in different assortments perhaps there will be a package arrangement of both single and double Grunts produced by McFarlane. I can't confirm that, though.

Per EE, there's only one per package:

Huh....that sucks.....

I distinctly remember pre-ordering it on Play.com as a 2-pack, and I've just gone and checked and it's now changed to just a single grunt.

Lame. They better go overboard on the accessories, because this is the same price as the Chieftan and only half the size.

yeah thats what I was thinking to. And even on here there is no mention of two variations. But its the same price.

these retailers say 2-pack

these say it's a single fig

which aggrees with entertaintment earth...

If they went to a single fig I'm going to be pissed. I really hope we get confirmation on this soon.

It's a single figure....

as soon as I get the official word that it's a single pack my pre-orders will be canceled and I'll be passing on being a completionist for this line.

even I'm not going to find the silver lining in this one, Nom. I've got 5 2-packs pre-ordered and planned on getting more. I'm not paying $10+ each for a 3.5" army builder. so if that's the case, then I'll be getting a Chief and a couple Spartans and the rest of the figures I'll pass on.

all reports that I've seen say that it will come with a plasma pistol, needler and some grenades...

so... unless the big accessory that will add enough value to the item in the collector's mind is another grunt, I think we're getting hosed. I've been wondering why the Grunt wasn't added to the list of Halo 3 items hitting the Spawn Store like the other ones where and this isn't quelling any of my fears. if it's true, it's even worse than the AvP base and accessory crap that happened a couple years ago.

Nom's word isn't gospel, but I've learned to take it with more than just a grain of salt. I'd love to get some confirmation on this since it's going to affect a lot of people's pre-orders

If it isn't a 2-pack that's some serious BS, nothing like getting a teeny tiny figure for the same jacked up cost as a 6" one.

you can't outright order the active camo fig until sometime in May. until then, it will say in-progress. the pre-order reserved you a ticket and a chance to buy them when they go on sale as long as you place your order during the ordering window.

they'll be posting more info and emailing us about that when it gets closer to that window.

yeah i think i wont be completing my halo 3 series one order if it is true

It pisses me off enough spawn decided to make 5!! variants to the soldier and spread them all over earth so I have to jump threw hoops to aquire them all. Now this gets me even more un happy.

takagari

so all they do with the grunt. is cut the mld to have size. change a color. release two. and charge double for same amount of plastic/design

Same thing with the spartans. 5 variants, 5xcost of one.

sigh
would love an actual answer..

The grunt is a single pack. The terminology got confused because there are two weapons included with the figure – all other figures come with just one weapon in Series one.

It was a communication error on our part.
Straight from the Brand Managers mouth.

Well the info is appreciated, but I won't be spending $11.00 for one little grunt with two weapons. That is, in my opinion, just weak.

Noe-the-less, the honesty is appreciated.

Communication error or not, that's more than enough to make me change my buying plans for this line.

I'm not paying $10 or more for a single, fodder villian that's 3.5" tall. No thanks!

That's $70 in pre-orders that will be lost on the Grunt alone. I'll scale back and drop the Brute, 2 Jackals and Cortanna for another $60. I'll get a couple Chiefs and that's it. That includes my plans for series 2 and I wanted a dozen ODST's. At this point I don't even care if there is a series 3 or a Hunter box set in the works.

So the Grunt 2-pack situation will probably mean that I spend at least $370 less on McF product this year. That's the silver lining for me.

Joe, that is utter BS and you know it.

I know you're a good guy Joe, so please tell me, why are you doing this?

ChrisM
12-16-2007, 07:10 PM
Joe -

Do your company a favor. Go to the 'brand manager' and either have him pull the grunt from series 1 until you can make a 2-pack out of it, or quickly make it into a 2-pack for series 1.

When the fans see this tiny figure for ~ $11.99 they will be PISSED. I also imagine that in the end, fans will buy far less grunts, i.e. they won't be emassing grunt armies.

Personally I won't be collecting the line (nothing against it), I'm just offering good sales advice.

Totally bummed.

Hope they don't give up on the idea of a hunter boxed set either...

takagari
12-31-2007, 10:19 AM
i woul dlove a hunter boxset. as long as there real size. .. bigger then Mc himself. which would lead me to believe a set would cost double a normal figure. but a few hunter variations would rock :D

RaoulOD

Yeah, a Hunter Boxed Set is pretty much the one figure I want more than any other. Ever. Dare I say... a pseudo-grail?

But yeah, if the Halo line goes by without one getting made... I dunno... I may actually give up collecting. I'd be that bummed out.

Quick question, Joe: is the price of the Grunt going to be the same as the rest of the figures in the line (11-14 bucks)? If it is, I gotta say that's a steep price for a 3¾ inch figure.

Thanks. :)
