i read an interview with the director a few days ago, and he confirmed there is going to be a figure of the monster. who do you think is gonna produce it? mabey some of the folks at mcfarlane can shed some light on the subject.

Have any full pics of the monster even been posted anywhere? All I have seen is the crap from that sorry trailer.

Actually there are some pics of that monster known, it looks like a giant whale with legs.
I think I saw it at that "McF's next Movie License" thread.....

Oh....well never mind then.
Do they come close then or is the actual design still not known?

I wouldn't be surprised if McF's got the license for Cloverfield since they announced that have rights to make figures for a 2008 movie, and he worked with J.J. Abrams with the Lost figs. I'll be excited if McFarlane makes the Cloverfield monster, but I hope its a boxset and not crammed into a clamshell.
As for the monster itself, I found a slow motion part of the trailer which shows what appears to be the monster's legs:

I actually really like both of those pics! If the monster looked that cool and different I would love it. Why is it that a mutant lizard is okay but not a mutant whale? They are the largest animals on the planet!
