View Full Version : Tim Thomas Could Not Stop a Shootout or Penalty Shot to Save His life

God this guy sucks and I am so sick of Claude Juliens love affair for him. He's not a goalie he's a lucky flopper who manages to get hit with the puck now and then!!!

Tim Thomas is the worst goalie in the NHL. No skills whatsoever. I remember watching Leafs games against the Bruins last year and Thomas would always be in goal and it seemed like every trip up the ice he'd get himself out of position and scrambling to get back. How he made it into the NHL is beyond me.

I enjoy watching him lay on his belly for every save and watching the opponent easily flip the puck over him every time. Its a real good thing they let Alex Auld get cold from his hot streak and sit on the bench..

Maybe they can pick up Cujo, after his stint for Team Canada at the Spengler Cup

The Bruins really don't have a choice, Raask is too young, Auld is their only other option right now because they traded for a cripple in Manny Fernandez in the off-season.

We need Andy Moog back. If you look at it Moog was the last goalie the bruins had was a solid goalie that started over 3 years straight.

too many flash in the pan goalies in the Bruins history from Lacher to Carey to Thomas. I don't know why Rask or Auld can't steal the starting job from Thomas like Price basically did from Huet in Montreal

Another thing that drives me nuts about Thomas is that he changes his equipment period by period. I just got done looking at the pics of last nights game on the bruins web site and in one pic he has a bauer glove and in another pic he has an itech glove what is his deal?

he must be blaming his equipment for the goals...maybe he should change his skates so he can stay up instead of belly flopping

or maybe change his career.

I'm sure there's a pond or lake somewhere where he could go fish instead..I'm telling you if Thomas plays tonight then Julien needs a dope smack....

It's probably because no equipment company will give him more than one set of equipment because after seeing him once they realize how bad he is.

This is the greatest thread. I've never liked Tim Thomas, and to see them keep going back to him is painful. I'd like to see Auld play more, he atleast plays like a goalie and was hot for a while. I'm just looking forward to the future with Rask, then maybe we Bruins fans will be able to make a run for the cup.

Little too early to say Price is the #1 over Huet, or Huet wouldn't have started back to back recently. Huet was hurt, which is the only reason why they are so close in games started. 931 vs 911 save % isn't going to land Price the #1 over Huet unless Huet is dealt. I will agree that Price will be the #1 eventually, but not yet. In a playoff series today, I will start Huet and I think Carboneau would as well
As for Thomas.....he did have the best save % before he got hurt. Maybe the injury is still bothering him. I wasn't a fan of Thomas much last year, although he looked better at times this year. It is a shame about Fernandez because he was great at shootouts, although he tended to give up a bad goal a game. Regardless, the Bruins weren't going to do anything this year anyways. Hopefully Rask will be ready when they are a serious contender.

Thomas got to sit in the 1st period until Auld decided to suck, then Thomas came in and gave up 2 goals. One was a great above the face-off circle shot that should of been blocked.

I find it absolutely sucky that Thomas tanks every other game and doesn't get pulled...Auld plays a bad period and its time to put in the suck horse Thomas...Julien sucks too!!!!!!!

Tim Thomas has a 2.33 GAA and .930 Save %. I dont think he is that bad at all. Is he the best in the NHL no. But he isnt the worst either. It seems like he is forced to save 30+ shots a night and thats not good. Bruins defense isnt that good right now and they dont help at all.
Tim Thomas is the best option the Bruins have. If Martin Brodeur was on the Bruins he would be an upgrade for sure but he wouldnt be great like he is on the Devils.

i agree with the above post; thomas was playing awesome before the injury and is still getting back in the groove. he faces a lot of shots and Boston's D is pretty weak as a unit.

sure the Bruins D is far from stellar but the flopping belly type saves are getting him nowhere...

Well Thomas made me eat my shoe with his performance last night but regardless he still sucks in shootout and penalty shot situations.I also still strongly dislike him and hope for a real goalie someday...
