Yes, Paul Stanley has become Bea Arthur.
I just watched a clip from an interview he had with some Fox News couch crew and he has completely channeled Bea. Sounds just like her and looks enough like her, chest hair and all.;) I think he may have finally become an old Jewish woman.
I haven't listened to them since sometime in the late 80's, or really paid much attention to them in other media. So seeing him was a little odd.
God, when childhood favorites get old it's a depressing reflection of your own life...

Say what you want but Kiss still puts on one of the best shows youll ever see. I saw them a few years ago when they toured with Aerosmith. They were amazing and almost were as good as Aerosmith. Of course you dont get better then Aerosmith :)

Yeah but a show is just a show, any tribute band can pull that off.
Musically I think Paul and Ace are the only ones who still have it. Judging by their latest solo work I think Simmons and Criss should just pack it in for good. Gene has all his TV shows so music doesn't really matter anyways.

Possibly. But Paul still has perfectly channeled Bea Arthur. :D:p

That whole ordeal sounded pretty awful.

I saw that same tour and felt the exact opposite. Maybe Aerosmith was having a bad night, but Stephen Tyler and Aerosmith just couldn't match the energy of Paul Stanley and KISS.
Aerosmith seemed to lose the crowd when they would go off on their blues jams (which I liked)

Kiss made Rock shows what they are today....The pyro's , lights, sound , they are the pioneers of it all. Ya they're a little long in the tooth , but they single handedly changed the concert going experience forever.

Wasn't the point *LOL* I wasn't making commentary on their history, just his present. He's an old woman now. :D

Yeah, what the hell? How did a simple fun making thread turn into a "Kiss is God" thread?

Neat. Maybe he somehow ingested estrogen in a very specific-to-his-lifestyle kind of way :D

That started to happen at the show I went too. They played a couple songs off their new album "Honkin On Bobo" and people didnt know what it was. But the songs kicked butt and the crowd really got back into it.
The whole rest of the show for them was rocking.
Aerosmith/Kiss is still the best show I have ever seen live.

That comment might make sense if you were talking about Alice Cooper. He was the one who pioneered the big rock show, wore makeup onstage, big platform boots, etc. Alice was the one who single handedly changed the concert going experience forever.
Kiss just took Alice's show and went over the top with it. Alice held a grudge against them throughout the years, and Gene eventually apologized to Alice for what they did.

You consider the point of Gene's selling out to be his appearance on 'The Apprentice'? :D
I figure it was probably around the time he was 5 or 6.

Aerosmith/Kiss is still the best show I have ever seen live.
If that's the best show you've ever seen, I shudder to think what other concerts you've attended. :D j/k
I've actually seen both of those bands in the past. Kiss does put on a very entertaining show.
I was deeply disappointed in Aerosmith though. I saw them on their "Permanent Vacation" tour back in the late 80s. They were very sloppy (although they were all supposedly 'clean' by then).
The worst part was they used canned vocals on some songs (pre-recorded vocals that are piped through the PA system). They are one of the last groups I would have expected to use canned vocals.
Probably the best hard rock band I've ever seen live is AC/DC. They rock like no one else and their stage presence is top-notch.
This all being said -- I pretty much outgrew the whole classic rock/hard rock thing in high school. I only listen to progressive rock and jazz. So I'm more into bands like King Crimson, Rush, Porcupine Tree, Oceansize, etc. I prefer to see bands live that display great musicianship as opposed to bands who try to liven up their shows with fireworks & explosions.

I love how that anchor dude panders to Paul and telling him how is artwork is "good"...LOL.

Oh, he's definitely entered menopause :D
His art is really typical. Not terrible, but typical. And about as "deep" and original as the ******l-themed art that every single female artist produces during their college years.
:( geek tragedy ):

Maybe the theatric part of it.....Alice was'nt even close in shear scale . The massive light shows and pyro's. Alice was most definatly a pioneer, but not at the scale that Kiss took it too. :)
Watch some old Led Zepplin, The Who , Alice Cooper, concerts you'll see what I mean. Not knocking any bands just saying Kiss took the concert going experience to a new level.
Oh yeah....Paul looks old (Cause he is) but he still gets more fine tail than anyone that hangs around on these boards. That's gotta give the old guy some street cred !
