I need to quit ebay

I win something on ebay. I get the invoice and there's a $3.00 fee attached. I paid the auction and asked what the fee was. He tells me that it's my responsibility to pay for paypal fees. I look at the auction and way at the bottom, it does say that. So I know that I do have to pay them because I didn't read carefully enough. However, I use a paypal fee calculator and it says the total fees for what I paid him are $1.06. So I sent him a message saying, you overcharged me. Please refund $1.94. He starts sending me messages in broken English such as "NOT MORE WITH ......XXXXXXX" (copy/pasted) and refunded my whole payment. Then after refunding my whole payment, the next day, he filed a NPB on me.

Looking closer at his feedback, he also does retalitory feedback like crazy. Somebody left him a neutral feedback that said something to the effect of good item but very slow shipping. He responded with a neutral feedback that said "A+".

I know spawn.com boardie Herzograven has bought from this same guy, too, and had an issue. The seller's username is "luisitorey", avoid him.

I know exactly what you mean. Yesterday, I e-mailed a seller in NYC about shipping an SP. I asked him how much shipping was to Toronto, ON Canada.

His response, "it cost a lot to ship up there, so $22 should cover it." I e-mailed him back and asked if he could reduce the shipping because I thought it was too high. He response "shipping, plus fees is around $22. Sorry."

Oh well, needless to say, but I won't be buying from him. $22 to ship one SP from NYC to Toronto ... come on :rolleyes:

they can get a warning or account suspension from eBay if you report them for Paypal surcharges.

Its against eBay policy.

Also be sure to read all fine print in the entire auction, regardless if what they say is against eBay policy, it is good practice to read everything because sneaky sellers always included some fine print to hide some details that will screw you over in the end.

Like when some guy was selling the XBOX 360 BOX and people bid HUGE amounts of money for an empty XBOX 360 BOX because they failed to read where it says, you are bidding on a box only in fine print hidden within all the other useless details.

The reason why alot of people get screwed is because he does not state this instruction in his item description. Alot of people only read the item description and then place their bid without realizing that his "Payment Instruction" section states that we (the buyers) are responsible for his paypal fees. Which is obviously not allowed but most people don't read that section.

Anyways, to report it.
1) Click "Help" on the top right hand corner.
2) Click "Contact Us" on the eBay help section on the left
3) Select "Listing Violations" and then click Continue
4) In the Step 1 box select "Listing Policy Violations
5) In the Step 2 box select "Circumvention of eBay Fees"
6) IN the Step 3 box select "Charges associated with offered methods of payments (surcharges)
7) Click Continue
8) Click "Email Us"
9) Enter the item numbers of 10 of the item numbers for the items he is selling and then click Send
10) Repeat Cycle if you feel like it ;)

He can't do that. If he accepts Pay Pal as a form of payment, he cannot come out and say that the buyer has to cover the pay pal fee's. He can charge a "reasonable" "handling" fee, but he cannot charge you Pay Pal fee's. Send a complaint to e-Bay.

He got my account killed cause i bought 5 items from him. He never sent paypal refunded me. Which in turn he did NPB on me 5 times per item! Which it only takes 3 to ban you. The reason why alot of people get screwed is because he does not state this instruction in his item description. Alot of people only read the item description and then place their bid without realizing that his "Payment Instruction" section states that we (the buyers) are responsible for his paypal fees. Which is obviously not allowed but most people don't read that section.

Anyways, to report it.
1) Click "Help" on the top right hand corner.
2) Click "Contact Us" on the eBay help section on the left
3) Select "Listing Violations" and then click Continue
4) In the Step 1 box select "Listing Policy Violations
5) In the Step 2 box select "Circumvention of eBay Fees"
6) IN the Step 3 box select "Charges associated with offered methods of payments (surcharges)
7) Click Continue
8) Click "Email Us"
9) Enter the item numbers of 10 of the item numbers for the items he is selling and then click Send
10) Repeat Cycle if you feel like it ;)
I just reported every single listing he has currently going on.

Asking the buyer to pay fees after a price is already settled and the auction has already ended is against the rules though, I believe.

He got my account killed cause i bought 5 items from him. He never sent paypal refunded me. Which in turn he did NPB on me 5 times per item! Which it only takes 3 to ban you. If a seller wants the buyer to cover his fees, he should state the handling fees from the very beginning. The seller should also state that there WILL be handling fees and the buyer should ask and the handling fees should be reasonable. Ridiculously high shipping and handling fees are also against eBay policy because they obviously know that sellers are using that to cover their fees.

To tell someone that they have to cover their fees that eBay or Paypal charges them is defeats the whole purpose of a buyer even using Paypal or even eBay for that matter. The SELLER is responsible for their OWN Paypal and eBay service fees, not the buyer.

Just so you realize that I do know what's going on....you might want to go back and check to see that I was the first one to inform Shawn that surcharging for paypal fees are against ebay policy. Unless you are the ebay seller there is really no reason for you to take the side of the seller. That is the real story here.

Well, it's usually only a dollar or so... and that can be included in the BIN price. So, in that sense a seller could make the buyer pay the paypal fees. Sure, they can't outright say, "oh and you have to add the paypal fees to the total when you make payment." Of course, he can't do that. I'm not saying he can.

I win something on ebay. I get the invoice and there's a $3.00 fee attached. I paid the auction and asked what the fee was. He tells me that it's my responsibility to pay for paypal fees. I look at the auction and way at the bottom, it does say that. So I know that I do have to pay them because I didn't read carefully enough. However, I use a paypal fee calculator and it says the total fees for what I paid him are $1.06. So I sent him a message saying, you overcharged me. Please refund $1.94. He starts sending me messages in broken English such as "NOT MORE WITH ......XXXXXXX" (copy/pasted) and refunded my whole payment. Then after refunding my whole payment, the next day, he filed a NPB on me.

Looking closer at his feedback, he also does retalitory feedback like crazy. Somebody left him a neutral feedback that said something to the effect of good item but very slow shipping. He responded with a neutral feedback that said "A+".

I know spawn.com boardie Herzograven has bought from this same guy, too, and had an issue. The seller's username is "luisitorey", avoid him.

Yea, item took almost a month to arrive, and then it was the wrong damn thing, cause the listing has a blurry picture and the description said one thing, the item ended up being something else. It wasn't even that he shipped it out shortly after I paid for it, and it took a while to get here, he freakin shipped it out 19 days after the item was paid!

I don't even care about the listing/paypal fees, even here, if someone gives me a really good deal, I offer to split paypal fees with them, anything to help, but waiting almost 4 weeks to get the wrong item, that's a bit much.

This guy went to my ignore list rather quickly, and he left me a "neutral" feedback because I left him a neutral one cause of the damn slow shipping!

I really wish I had discovered the spawn.com message board sooner, wasted about $900-$1000 on overpriced eBay items cause I didn't know where to go back then.

I had a bad ebay experience last week. I won an auction with some series 1 dragons. Seller emailed me & said he didn't have those figures anymore but he had some from the other series and would send those. Needless to say, I didn't pay and seller opened a dispute. Bleh.

So, this seller WON HIS NON PAYING BIDDER against me. I contacted ebay and told him that I did pay, had the paypal transaction ID and that he refunded my money and was circumventing fees. They removed the strike and are investigating him.
