I bring this up, because I think he is a great player, Hes knows one speed ALL OUT ALL the Time. I mention this because when they last played Duke, Vitale kept saying
"He is a great college player, a great college player". He seemed to go out of his way on the "College" player theme.

Any hoops aficionado's out there??

I think he'll be a great energy/role guy in the NBA.

Solid college player and outstanding work ethic, but he'll never become a good NBA player. Christian Laettner was an outstanding college player but nothing more than average in the NBA. He did play alot of years though.

If you watch the guys post moves, he just looks goofy and unathletic but seems to get the job done nearly everytime. Like JayDouble said, roleplayer at best.

Its a lot easier to go "all out all the time" when you have a 30 game season compared to 80. Energy can only go so far in the NBA.

I see him having a decent career as a high energy role player. Some of his moves do look goofy but get the job done, I'm just not too sure those same moves will work in the NBA

I think he could be a 15-10 guy, unless his mid range shot gets alot better. I think he will be a better pro than McRoberts from Duke.

I'm a Tar Heels fan and I've said for 2 years that he won't amount to much in the NBA. I'd say his high ceiling is a less talented Carlos Boozer but more than likely he'll be a more offensive minded Anderson Varejo.

The power forward position in the NBA and NCAA are very different. I can see him struggling big time at the next level. Hope not, cause I like him.

He will be a poor mans Shane Battier.Imo i think he is just a tall player thats strong on the boards. He won't be a superstar in the NBA.

As a diehard Duke fan, I hate to say this, but he is a great college player. However, the college game is like night and day compared to the NBA. I can't stand the NBA because of the style of the game they play. True, they are great at what they do, but I don't think Tyler's game is made for the NBA,

Totally agree. Great college player. But not an NBA type. He is not big enugh to play center in the NBA and not fast enough to play the Foward.

The shots he gets now where he turns into the defender and simply muscles it up to rim wont work in the NBA. The guy guarding him will be just as strong and Hansbrough will have to change his game to more of a face the basket and drive kind of guy. He is very good at that as well but his bread and butter in the college game is simply being stronger than the guy defending him.

If he's lucky, left bench warmer. ;)

Also, he gets alot of strange calls in the college game where he is basically out of control and knocks over guys like a bowling bowl. He won't get those calls in the NBA, you have to be under control to consistently get calls not just try to run into guys and hope to hell the referee sees it. He'll be nothing but a role player at best.

Apparently you've never watched Manu or a Spurs game? :confused:Hahaha....I can see why you have that opinion of him. But, "out of control" & erratic movements are 2 diff things, Manu still looks to be in control of his movements even though it may appear he's not -- he just has an unconventional way of movement in the court. ;)

a less talented Mark Madsen? Is that even possible??

HE IS STRONGER THEN 95% OF OF THE GUYS HE PLAYS AGAINST NOW. IN THE NBA IT IT GOING TO BE ALOT MORE EVER. I DON'T THINK HE PLAY "ABOVE THE RIM" LIKE YOU NEED TO IN THE NBA.
INE NBA HE WILL BE MATCHED AGIANST GARRNETT AND ODOM TYPE PLAYERS. LONG AND CAN SKY. HE WIIL NOT BE ABLE TO GET SHOTS OFF, UNLESS HE CAN REALLY IMPROVE HIS MID RANGE JUMPER.
HE IS HIGH ENERGY AND WILL PLAY IN THE PROS BUT HE WILL HAVE TO IMPROVE TO BE ANYTHING MORE THEN A ROLE PLAYER.

Duke fan here, but Hansbrough is an awesome COLLEGE player. I don't know how he'll make out in the pros, I can barely stand to watch an NBA game.

Will not be a great NBA player, not enough size to play down low and not quick enough to play on the outside. Only has a shooting range of about 8 feet. He is just like Eric Montross

I have said this for two years, and I am a HUGE TAR HEEL FAN, but it appears to me that Tyler, is Eric Montross re-invented, with a little bit more tenacity, and power game.

I would say he will be a lottery pick, but will turn out to be a 7 pt./7 rebound/game player.

It seems to me ,most of the Duke players are great college players -but mediocre NBA players.

Im a Duke fan too but I think he can have a very solid NBA career. A little bigger and stronger than Eduardo Najera and Madson but not quite Okafor or Boozer. So, I could see him playing ten years and scoring 15 a game and grabbing 10 boards a game

Stupid to compare him to Morrison. Adam was #3 overall pick in the draft and averaged almost 12 pts a game as rookie. Hansbrough will be lucky to even get drafted at the end of the first round and see any meaningful playing time as rookie in the NBA.

Morrison was also 1 dimensional. He couldn't board and played ZERO defense. He was just a shooter in college.
