He is done sorta like the Hoof figure from Total Chaos and mixed with the current Poacher since I like the jungle theme. I've got just a bit more clean-up to do but for the most part, he is complete. I just couldn't wait any longer to post. So lemme know whatcha think please. He also has a removable hood as you can see in the pics.

That's great work! A lot of rhino hide detail you got there. I like the fingernails.

thanks for the comments guys. there's a ton of man hours in this badboy. i worked about 3 hours a night for almost 2 weeks on this one. casteline is great for holding detail, but it takes lots of time to get it all in there.

the only bummer about casteline is you can't really paint it. i mean, u can paint it, but it's wax/clay and will scratch off easily.

You do excellent work. Someone posted a thread about doing a casting a mold, I think it was the Michael Keaton Batman thread by Iron Cow. You should really get that cast & painted to finish it off, it deserves the full treatment. Outstanding!

EDIT: here's the link, I believe he had a step by step you might find useful:

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I really appreciate all the comments.

As far as molding and casting, I did just invest in over 200 bucks worth of materials to give it a try. But I want to start small before I try to do this guy so I don't inadvertantly ruin him. Molding and casting is an art in its self.

Looks awesome man! How did you get all that texture?

Hordakk
02-16-2008, 05:43 AM
A sculpting knife and a lot of carving man. Also used my new wax pen which helped me a lot. But mostly, it's just like drawing only with a knife and it takes about 10 times as long. lol
