the little straps on the mouth though are WAY thin, i think they're even starting to rip from opening the mouth just once. =/

I love mine! I've had it now for a few weeks. I don't open the mouth on it anymore because as you said, the skin is waaaayyyy to thin. I've heard you can use a little clear finger nail hardener on it. Its a great piece, love the first pose! I'll have to try that one.

will they strengthen the skin or...? i'm scared if i did that then i opened it they'd snap like twigs.

See, its really just hearsay. I saw a video on youtube from Pitu (btw, his videos are hilarious!). He was applying the hardener and I couldn't decipher his video to whether or not he had applied it on the thin rubber around the mouth or not. He points out the issue. It may be worth calling Hot Toys or Sideshow to find out.

How come whenever they make toys that have the bendy wires in them, they have to have all those little sets of 2 holes in them? :confused:

i think it's so the rubber can bend naturally. i've wondered the same thing though...

It will harden the rubber, and the next time you try to open the jaws would be a sad day.
Just leave it as it is. Don't display it open for prolonged periods of time and you should be OK. Keeping it out of the sun will help too.

i think it's so the rubber can bend naturally. i've wondered the same thing though...
I always thought it was part of the moulding proccess, and that those holes had something in them that held the bendy wire in the middle of the piece, then when the rubber was solidified, the holders were removed, and left the holes.
