I'd like to find a way to buy old NFL games. I just ran across the 1978 AFC Championship game on youtube and it is all broken up into 10 minute segments and it made me wonder if there was anywhere I could buy all the old games that had been recorded from the 70's Steelers dynasty. I'd love to sit and watch them as if they were being played today.

if you do a google search, you can find stuff.

I'll pm you a link in the morning to a guy that's selling a bunch of games.

Granted, it's obviously against the law, so proceed with caution.

Isn't it illegal to sell them? If so you may have a hard time finding them... although they are out there.

There may be some out there if Roger Goodell didn't destroy them.:p

It's not illegal to give them away or to trade them. Generally speaking, of course.

I didn't think much about the legality of it. But if the NFL wants to lose out and not offer anything like this and people want to sell their recording privately then too bad for the NFL as far as I'm concerned.

Man I was going to come up with the "witty" Patriots/Belicheat joke but someone beat me to it. Guess I wasn't so clever and original afterall.:(

Yeah, I just remembered somebody offering to sell some here one time and it being deleted for being illegal. But like Hardcore said I guess "trading" is ok. I would sure love to somehow get a copy of the first Bucs game vs Houston though.

I have a copy of the 1984 AFC Championship game where the Dolphins shellacked the Steelers if you're interested, Hoosier. ;)

It doesn't take much wit or originality whatsoever to insert a Patriots/Belicheat into this thread. In fact, the 1st reply in this thread was a Patriots/Belicheat joke. Nope, not much wit or originality at all.

I actually think I have a copy of a Steelers/Dolphins Monday Night game from 1973 or '74. If I recall correctly, Bradshaw got yanked in favor of Joe Gilliam in that game.

Is it the one where the same DB intercepted Bradshaw 4 times and the Dolphins still only squeaked by to win 30 - 26?

And it doesnt take a genius to coach an NFL team when he knows what plays are coming.

yeah okay...I remember back in the 90's when the Cowboys dominated..they said the same thing about them..isn't it funny when teams dominate, others look to talk trash about them...

maybe NFL films has an archive? sometimes you can send them an e-mail and they can direct you in a certain direction.

I don't think NFL films will sell you any games. I bought a few games from someone off buy.com, he actually had a pretty decent collection, I don't know if it went all the way back to the 70s though. I know a few people on this site have games that they trade, that's how I got a few last year, like someone else said, try trufinfan

Hoosier, just to let you know, there are from the 1978 season:

Regular Season:
Games 1, 2, 4 - 16

Post Season:
Divisional
Championship
Super Bowl

Just gotta look around and find a seller.

And Id like to watch the past 8 years of Patriots football, specifically the playoffs and see just who is on their sidelines pointing cameras.

Funny how you devote so much time on these boards constantly bashing Brady and the Pats. It's sad really because it seems to be your life's devotion. The Pats bashing from HD is tolerable because at least he likes to talk about his Steelers. I've NEVER seen you talk about your Chiefs. Ever.

On second thought, if I were a Chiefs fan, I wouldn't want to talk about them either.

You should be the last person on these boards to comment on wit, originality, or genius for that matter.
