I am one of the lucky people to get my hands on Halo 3 figures. Unfortunetly the Master chief I purchased had a crappy hand. The damn thing broke off after trying to reposistion it, and I had to buy another one the day after. Everything seems to be going well when receive my second Chief, until of course I take it out of the package. The right shoulder joint is crappy and wobbly and by far inferior to my first Mc. The first chief was a great figure and all, but the right hand just ruined everything. Now Im stuck with two Mc's with major quality problems. My question is, can the lower part of the arms on the Halo figures be removed and swapped? I'm afraid to try it and I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

I would e-mail/call McFarlane's customer service about it and see about getting two new replacements. Otherwise you can return both to the store you got it from and see about getting another one. I've done that to find a good one.
Or boil both figure until the plastic is soft and pull off the bad parts and then you can swap out bad for good and then have one good figure. After make sure to coll down or freeze the figure for a bit, that way the plastic tightens back to it's original shape. I've done this before with figures, and works quite well.

i was just given one today as a gift. since it's a MCF figure, the first thing i did was hit it with a hair dryer, to separate it and reinforce the joints. the whole figure pops apart with no problems. you'll have no trouble swapping out all the bad parts, and then you can return the "bad" figure to the store.
honestly, though? i'm surprised. the wrist joints look like they'd be the sturdiest on the whole figure, excluding the head. i'd bet even money that the thigh joints would be the first things to break..

I've had wrist problems, too. I replaced the entire peg and post on each with a steel screw and they're better than they were before to be honest. Much tighter and little chance of loosening.

I have one and they seem a bit more durable than the average Mcfarlane figure. This seems to be the first time I've seen anyone complain of breakage.

Opened 3 figs so far and just now broke a hard plastic ankle hinge. It still works but you can see the crack across the black part. I don't think this is common tho because I'm yanking off heads and pulling on parts, the hard plastic seems to be pretty strong. I'd return it and try again.

just boil an dpop the lower arm off, throw a cup in the microwave for about 3 mins.. then lower the arm into about the forearm armor ends, hold it there for about a min, then "pop" the arm off, do the same to the other arm, and pop it off too.
Now when switching, lower the forearm in to the water to loosen it up(you want to lower the part closest to the elbow in) and then "pop" them back on and then keep your good one and return the crappy one...
I've noticed a couple "stiff" hands on some, so I wiggled them a little before twisting them, I think that's the case with almost all ball joints like that I know I have a couple joyride spartans that were missign a hand here or leg there cause of this, lol

Thanks for these tips. I'll try this when I get my Master Chief figure next week from BBTS.

The only problem on mine is the right hand pops out fairly easily, but that's fine by me. Makes it easier to get the gun in there.

So far, no problems with mine. However, I wish they came with a figure stand for added security.

my Steel Spartan's arm just popped off at the shoulder, looks like the shoulder peg wasn't wide enough :( it goes back in but pops out easily.. I may have to throw some epoxy sculpt in there to beef it up.
