View Full Version : Lambert....... Too Heavy Looking?

The more I look at Lambert, the less I'm digging him. He loks too heavy and the pose makes him look like an outside linebacker or blitzer (things he never did). He was 6'4" and played at about 215 which would make him a rail. He always was positioned square to the line of scrimage and was famous for his sideline to sideline run stopping and deep drops in pass defense. I'll still get one but my disappointment has set in.

Yeah the legs are a little thick, but he did have a gut on him. Muscle weighs more than fat and players back then could get away with being flabby and not jacked. He wasn't a "rail" by any means.

He might look little heavy, but I thought the same thing about the Elway 2 figure, and in person, the Elway looks fine. I don't get your concerns about the pose. I think the pose looks great and that it isn't specific to an outside linebacker or blitzer. Overall, I think the figure was well done.

From my POV the pose itself is not a problem, but the legs might be a little thick. I guess we'll have to wait to see the final product. Either way, I'm VERY excited about this figure.

Although I know it won't settle this issue, if you are wondering "Was Jack Lambert really that nasty?" please watch this short video tribute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNetYOTQrA

I think the Lambert does look a tad heavy. But maybe with the black and seeing him at a distance will make him be acceptable. I like the pose and general look.

TMP has had some serious issues with scale on some of the sports figures. And sometimes they re-paint a guy whose body does not work (example Aramis Ramirez/Jeter). Many people have issue with the scale from one figure to the next (for display purposes....look at the last Moss figure). I don't really have a beef with that, and probably like the smaller figures (3") better.

I think TMP sculptors have always drawn monsters and other creatures where scale was not that important.

I have a bigger problem with paint application....mainly skin tones....they are starting to look bad overall and there are some figures that cannot be purchased because of it (see some of the cartoonish NHL figures of late).

almost half of those plays would be penalties in the NFL right now...he was definitely a twisted individual..;)

Players used to wear larger pads and jerseys, which could make a "rail" look a lot larger.

I don't think it looks too heavy at all. With this being the ref. pic they used, i think it looks right on!!!

Its a bit bottom heavy. The top, with the pads, looks dead on balls accurate.

I agree, he does look kinda heavy. He looks bigger than the Joe Green fig, wich obviously dosent make sense.
