RayBan Iconic Bold RB6124 though the frames color is called gun metal. My optical insurance covered everything but $50.00 of it, exam included. Exciting, ya? I've been needing new glasses for 4 years now. My wife says I look like a handsome (ninja edit: hot was the word used) nerd. LOL.

Bit flashy for my tastes, but hey, ain't going on my noggin. Good haul, I've got some Ray Ban prescrip sunglasses that I've really liked. I need some new regular glasses though, I've been using my current pair since high school and one of the arms is being held on by clear tape :p

I loved them instantly. But it was between these and some Oakley's that would have cost me $100.00 after insurance but I like these much better.

a bit too flashy for me, looks like something Bobby Brown would wear.. or MC Hammer...

my son twisted my pair into a pretzel(not Ray Ban) so I'm back to my 5 year old goggles, lol.. I think it's time for a new pair... but I'll stick to the 2 for $50 rack.

I might need a new pair. The current prescription has been the longest one I've used without vision worsening.

I blame my super nintendo.

HAHA...Nerd! j/k man, Bet ur one sharp dressed man, ya know like da song says eh? Not that well-dressed, most of my warbdrobe hasn't been update in the past 10 years now (gotta stop living in the college days). But yeah, these glasses up my "intellgent-looking" factor by +8.

Mr. Wiggity: as soon as I get my intarwebz back up at home, I'll post a pic.

Those break nerd regulations 567b and 789f, they are neither black nor do they have any tape on them. Really if you want to be a nerd you got to follow the rules.

Really if you want to be a nerd you got to follow the rules.Yeah, but that's only if I were to fall into the "Average or Below-Average Nerd" category. Handsome nerds don't use no tape! Or paper clips to hold the ear pieces on.

UKY-71: Neither, but the ladies who was giving me my "exam" was doing a good bit of flirting with me when she saw the glasses on me. Did I miss out on somekind of CD offer for crappy music? Aw man....

I never spend more than $20 on any sort of glasses since they'll end up broken or lost anyways.

Do people really listen to both AFI and Fall Out Boy...? I thought most AFI fans were too old to listen to modern music, anyhow... God help them at a FOB concert... I suppose they can just say one of the 15,000 9 years olds there is their kid...

My wife works for Lens Crafters as an optometrist. Just thought you would want to know.:)

BTW- Just curious, what kind of lenses did you get with those? My wife said that particular frame is only a $150. Ray Bans are the lower end frames, good brand, but lower end. It's the Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Oakleys, Burberrys and Versace that cost the most. My wife is also curious as to what insurance you have? She said that insurance companies only cover $100 frame allowance and only with basic plastic lenses. She just moved up to the Optometrist position, after working 10 years as an eyewear cosultant/optician.:)

I never spend more than $20 on any sort of glasses since they'll end up broken or lost anyways.I'm the same way with sunglasses. I take horrible care of those, that's why I always grab a cheap pair of $12.00 - $15.00 glasses. Put when my specs cost me $460.00, I'm gonna make damn sure I take care of them. I carry my case around, little cleaning cloth and everything.

Adrian: I'm still considering Lasik but that's probably a few years away still. I have three friends who all had it done and they no longer need their bifocals - and they were hella' blind too.

Salvatore: That's where I got my glasses from, just in case you wanted to know too. ;) I got the featherweight lenses with all the scrath resistence, filters, UV protection and all that jazz.

Sweetshot: .... I'm not really sure how to respond to that. Um, thanks?

Sweet. My wife told me that those lenses are the best. Polycarbonate featherweight with scotchguard coating. Thanks for posting this, I keep forgetting to go in and get a new pair for myself. The wife get's these firend's and families coupons, were you get 50% off lenses and frames.:)

That's a pretty sweet deal. I now just realized I didn't answer all of your questions:

My insurance is through Humana, and I believe these are plastic lenses. They sure feel light enough to be plastic. The frames were $150.00 and my insurance covered the first $100.00 on the frames, all of the lenses plus the eye exam.

I wear a pair of Prada eyeglasses that I got from Lenscrafters. They're the black plastic "emo" frames with the square/rectangular lenses. Cost me $400 and that was WITH my AAA membership discount. It was well worth the price though. I get compliments on them all the time and they look amazing on me...not to brag or anything.

Damn, $400 with membership? I'd hate to see what they discounted.

...and I had to make an edit to the orignal post because there is a slight discrepancy. The term my wife used was "Hot Nerd", not handsome. She corrected me after she saw the post. So I just had to make that tiny little change there. Yeah. :o:D
