I wanted to do a diorama, but I don't have enough time.

I'm still planning to do the diorama, but unfortunately it will be done after the contest has ended.

Boo. what about the other entries? I wanted to see the ones that didnt win.

I actually liked 2nd place better than 1st, but it lacked the "finished" quality that the winner's drawing had.

I would have entered but, as much as I like the ancient Egyptian aesthetic, I'm not very good at capturing it.

I liked them too.The first one was very well done, the second one was cool, it would have looked better colored. the third one..was ok. but thats my opinion

I like that one alot Verde13.

You went above and beyond from merely drawing a monument, but included people with a bit of "story" to the image.

Dude, I think the three winners selected did a great job.

not to pat my own back but what i liked most wasnt my drawing, but the paintings on the walls. theres one of malebolgia, and a man and theres one on the top of the pillar with angels descending a staircase.

No, it was the dancing girls that had me.

It was the enviroment first, then the people like some of the manga artists do. I like that effect alot.

I like mine too but I can see where it failed as my statue is not "in situation", meaning it would have been more succesfull had I put it in front of a cool background like you did, but I didn't have time for that unfortunately.

Is the winner posted yet?

Yes, all very good.

All three winners selected did a great job for various reasons.
1st: Very iconic image of the era with an extremely dramatic angle and sunset desert colors.
http://www.spawn.com/news/images/spawn33_winner_photo_01_dp.jpg
2nd: Great enviromental shot. I like that it's got a rough edge like actually drawn by someone on site.
http://www.spawn.com/news/images/spawn33_winner_photo_02_dp.jpg
Honorable mention:I like the concept of a Washington DC Planet of the Apes alternate reality where the Egyptians rule things. This image is really sparks the imagination.

That pic scared me Verde13.

I reposted the image due to switching image hosts.
The problem with mine was the broad was in the way of the monument.

well, the killer croc is actually pretty similar to chimera from actual egyptian folklore, so i can see why they did it. it might not make for a dynamic figure, but the static nature of MCF toys in general might account in part for why it's just doesn't work..

Bible, sweet and smooth sexy babe, she screams for colors dude ;)

I must admit, honestly, I like the McF croc... for the reasons Verde13 said :o :p
I think I'm going to get it 'cause it reminds me so much of the old Toho monsters with the McF "twist"

Congratulations to all the fans that, like me, participated in the contest. I see great ideas here, i hope Todd McFarlane use some of this stuff when the relative comic arrives, surely it will be done. Sorry about my english, it's very bad. Thanks to all the guys in this forum who liked my work, i made it with too much faith to win. Those who didn't win, try again and again! you'll get it. You can bet on it. I'd have liked to colorize mine, but i haven't the time because of my job. I'll do it for personal pleasure, if i finish it soon, i'll upload this in the forum. Please, I wanna see more jobs!!!!

That would certainly increase the demand for the figure with an action feature like that. It's really unfortunate that more toys these days are not safety hazards.

It was years back, but ToyFare had an article about recalled toys. A Cabbage Patch doll that was eating people, Barbie's sparkling roller skates starting ittle kids on fire, the potty-mouthed Teletubbie, Stinkor from HeMan smelling like what he was supposed to smell like and BobaFett choking kids out with his missle.
These days, the most we get is something painted to look like flames. It's getting lame.

Also not to mention a reptilian beast that reassemble a croc is in the hieroglyphic of the judgement of the heart, When a sinful person's heart weights down the scale of judgement, the beast devour the sinner as a punishment. This is according to the code of Hammurabi (also as we all know as "eye for an eye" law).

I apologize for the massive picture as it was the only one I have found on the so called wonderful tool , the internet.

yeah i know the story. but it was also a chimera of a lion croc and hippo....artistic liscence i guess. I like the sobek figure, i just wish they made it a little lengthier, instead of some midget thing.

It's not about the prize, it's about the fun of creating. If everyone only did something with the promise of a huge reward, the world would be a pretty crap place.

I guess you don't do anything for fun anymore.

You just write the link of the image on this window.
You have to have a image uploaded somewhere on the internet to be able to do this.
Try some image host sites
I currently use photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com) and it's very reliable and easy to manage

Here they are, the prize arrived. The Jackal King is an excellent piece, so is The Scarab Assasin. I am from Maracaibo, Venezuela, friends, and i would like to share with you pics of my personal collection. Thanks to Summoned in Hell, now i know how to do it. In my country these toys are really, really expensive, and i'm not rich, but i love this stuff and with very much effort i have afforded some pieces. (by example, Spawn WOR 12" 230$ price, Spawn Mandarin 12" 150$, 6" figures 55$ average price :( ) I would like to see yours too. I am going to make a new forum for this. All of you invited and bring your best pics. Let's be creatives, good poses, dramatic angles, light effects!
