Who all will be at the Brickyard this weekend?

I have been to every 500 since 1980 (exept 2003 when our second son was born race morning!) and every Brickyard held! Love IMS!

I'll be wearing a Jeff Burton shirt - look for me and say "hi" - I'm usually the only one! :)

Just got back from Indy and another day of autograph running around. I scored the following

Elliott Sadler - was cool, but his handler was a *****
Greg Biffle - Awesome and very friendly
Clint Bowyer - Didn't get an auto - the time they had listed was wrong and it was a private party - but I did get a Pit Series Jack Daniels Hat
Scott Wimmer
Reed Sorenson
Travis Kvapil
Boris Said
Jack Roush

Photos and such later

OK - here is the story of the past few days.

Tuesday - We left Lafayette, IN around 7pm for the drive to St. Louis. The drive was uneventful but long - just over 4hrs - when we got into St. Louis we hit the casino for about 40 minutes and left them a bit of $$. I was up for abit but ended the night $50 down. We then drove to the track www.i55raceway.com and checked out the scene there to see if there were many people camping out. When we got there around 12:30am there were only about 10 people (2 groups) waiting - so we decided to go to the local motel and crash there and then just get up early in the AM.

We got up at 6:30 and were out the door by 7, picked up ice for the cooler and McD's for breakfast. We headed in to the track parking lot and were surprised that there were not many people waiting. We picked one of the 4 lines that were formed and we lucked out and picked the right one. We got into line behind 3 people who had a 10x10 pop-up canopy and as we were setting our chairs down behind them, they said we could join them in the shade under their canopy - THANK YOU LORD!!!! mind you it was going to be 100+ that day. Then right behind us some people showed up with another canopy and we were pretty well shaded. As we waited Red Baron Pizza was there with their hauler handing tons and tons of hats, shirts, and such out - as well as samples of their pizza. It was SUPER SUPER HOT outside - and by about noon both bags of ice had melted in the cooler, so me and one of the ladies we were sitting with ran to get more ice and some McD for lunch - we got back and just hung out and BS'd until about 2:30. They came around and informed us how things would work and the gates would open at 3.

When the gates opened we hauled ass to the Dale Jr - Truex Jr line to get our autograph ticket - we wound our way through the Disneyland style maze and got to the front and got our tickets. You were then allowed to leave and come back at 5 for the auto session - now the tickets were number 1-6 with 100 of each one and they called you by group. So we decided to go get tickets for the Wallace's line (Rusty, steven, kenny and david reutimann) . They were still handing out tickets so we went and got the (Kenseth, Crawford, Gaughan, and Schrader) ticket. We noticed they were still handing out JR's so we went back through - and then as we came out they had moved the ticket people to the entrance of the maze - so we grabbed one more of each of the others, and another JR - I ended up with 6 JR tickets and 3 for each of the others.

We went back outside and sat in the shade for a bit and at 4:30 or so we went and stood right by the entrance for the JR line - they kept telling us there was no need since if you had a ticket you would get an autograph . I wanted to be early before JR got hot and cranky - so we hung out - we were in place #1-5 when they finally let us in.

JR was 20-25minutes late while all the others were right on time. Poor Truex had to just sit at the table and hang out until JR showed up. While we were waiting I noticed that they did not have Hero Cards on the table anywhere - CRAP!!! I had only brought photos mainly for JR as that was all I thought I would get - or all I was really concerned with getting. So I had nothing for Truex to sign - I scrambled through my backpack hoping to find some index cards (I usually have a stack in there - not sure where they went) - and found nothing. The guy we had been sitting with was cool and gave me a Truex card - so at least I got something.

Jr finally arrived and started signing - He is an ass - that's about all I can say. I didn't expect much more - but he pulled up his chair - stuck his earphone in and just sat and listened to his ipod. We walked up I said Hey Jr - he didn't respond so I handed him my photo and said can you make it to Paul - he looked up and said WHAT - I said can you make it to Paul and can you sign your WHOLE name - he put to Paul, Dale Jr and pushed it towards me and reached for the next persons thing.

So we got Truex and moved to the Wallace line - what a difference - Rusty was nice, pretty quiet but looked up and said Hello to everyone - Kenny was funny as hell of course. I noticed that they all had Hero Cards except Kenny - so I found the souvenir booth and they had Kenny photos, so I was lucky with them - We then jumped into the Kenseth line and I noticed all of them had hero cards - SWEET - as we got closer, Gaughan and Schrader ran out of cards, so I tore one of the vinyl little checked flags off for them to sign. It was better than nothing .

We then went through the JR line again and again and again :) - and once more through each of the other 2 lines. As I went through a couple of people were bummed they didn't have tickets for the Wallaces and the Kenseth lines so I gave them my extra's there - but no one was getting my JR extras.

So we got the autos and decided to just head home since we had 4.5hrs home - so I didn't get to see any racing and got home around 1am.

The next morning I got up early and headed in to the Elliott Sadler signing in Indy - waited in line for a few hours before he got there. I had these really cool photos of him from his win in California and his handler grabbed them and said did you take this - and I said no I bought it from a dealer - he said well take it back and tell him they stole them, its not a licensed photo - (no crap dumbarse) - so he grabbed a hero card and said he will sign this for you - I just shrugged and said OH - OK.. What an ass - never had that problem before. Elliott was nice said Hi and Signed my card. They were handing out hats, and posters and things so I grabbed a hat - damnit its a kid sized one :(

I then hauled across town to the Biffle signing - it was at a Jiffy Lube where they were trying to set a record for the most oil changes in an hour - so I got in line and asked where Biffle would be - they said they were not sure so I kept my car in the free oil change line and waited - good thing because a big storm blew through and poored for about 30 minutes - we went through the oil change line and I still didn't see Biffle but noticed a little line forming by one of the canopies - so I parked and got in line - only about 50 people deep. He showed up and was nice as heck - he would sign whatever you gave him. Luckily I had some Hero Cards from before - so I got those signed and he had these little "Oil Change for Chairty" things so I grabbed one of them too.

Then it was across town again for the Clint Bowyer signing - and when I got there about 20 minutes early I noticed no line and they were just setting something up - thought hmmm this is weird - so I grabbed some lunch and just stood around and took pictures of the car - a rep from Jack Daniels came up and said - did they tell you this isn't a signing - Clint is not going to be here - and I said NO - I got the info off the brickyard site and it said it was an appearance - and he said thats in 4hrs and its a private function for JD retailers and I said crap - I noticed they had some hats and things inside so I said - can I have a hat or a shirt maybe - and the guy said sure let me get you a hat.

So I headed into town and went to the Scott Wimmer signing - again nobody there - so I asked and they said yes he would be there in about 15 minutes so I waited, he showed up - still nobody there - so I got my signed hero card and moved on downtown to the Dodge signing - it was a zoo - so I opted not to stay and headed out of town to the Sorenson signing.

Got to the signingn and he was already signing - I was about 70 people back and got my stuff signed, he was pretty nice. Not much to report there - so I headed back a few miles to the Kvapil signing at K-Mart.

He was there and signing away - they were handing out hats and little Tide cars so I grabbed them - he said I'll sign the hat too - I said NO I want to wear it so no need to sign it :)

I noticed on the other side of the store another sign and it said Boris Said was going to be there in about an hour so I thought - hmmm I'll come back to that.

Went to the Sofa place for the M. Waltrip signing and it was a zoo - so I just went back to the Boris Said one - he was about 30 minutes late as his flight came in late. He was nice but signing everything in black (on a mostly black hero card) - so I said you need a silver pen and he said Yeah I know - so I found the lady from K-Mart and told her and the SoBe rep and they went and grabbed some silver sharpies - so I got back in line and grabbed one in silver and said can I have a few more and said sure how many - I said 3 should be fine.

Then I headed to my last spot to get Jack Roush - he was really cool - no line at all and took pictures with anyone who wanted one.

So that was my autograph 2 days!!!! Pictures next

Driver Websites - most have an appearances link
The Event website - for Indy they listed the local events
At the souvenir haulers - most drivers sign at their haulers - you just need to ask on Friday AM - as usually its a very limited amount and you usually need a wristband early early in the morning

Nascar needs to do something about Cup guys in busch. I dont really care that they race in the series, but they shouldnt be up for the championship or something. I mean come on top 5 in busch points are all full time cup drivers.

Most of the guys running fulltime this year have stated they won't be doing the same next year. Only Carl Edwards has expressed an interest in doing both next year.

I don't remember the exact wording, but the guy used lines like "The Bible said to make a joyful noise unto the Lord, tonight let the crashing of metal and roaring of fans be that noise." Then to close it out he had a line like "Let's get it done in the name of the Lord."

Also of course Jeff didnt have a great day, He was my starting driver. Not matter who I start something happens to them. I have to say he had a decent day for what happened. If I am not mistaken he was faster than the leader for a while there. When the scroll was going across with the times back from the leader he was over 30 then after a while he was like 28 ready to pass the next car.

I think after the Glen I am going to stick with Tony so that all the bad stuff will hit him.

I have to start Jeff for the Glen or I wouldnt be a fan. He has a chance to win there every time he goes so I have to stick with him.

That was a tough hit by Kayne on Sunday. I'm glad he walked away from that. You really have to look at how far safety features have come since 2001. From the picture, it looks like that wall was cushioned w/ the SAFEr barrier, and you know Kayne was wearing the HANS device. That's a head on collision @ 185+ mph. It was scary as hell, but it was great to see him walk away from that.

Tough break for Gordon. I'm shocked that he didn't pull the same strategy as Jr and Ky Busch. It would have made sense b/c he was only a spot or two from Jr. at the time. He probably could have had a top 5 finish, but at least he moved up a spot in the chase.

W/ the Glen coming up on Sunday, as long as his car doesn't have any problems like he did at Indy, he should get a top 3 or 5 out of it.

Congrats to JJ, great race to come back from the pack and blown tire.

Looks like it's offical; Jayski saying Evernham has released Mayfield from his contract.

Yeah, I read that this morning. This year has been difficult to watch with the performance of the 19 team, and now without my favorite driver even in the races it will make it that much more difficult.

What is kinda funny is that since the driver switch was presented to NASCAR after the July 31 deadline, Elliott no longer has the past champions provisional. On top of that, when Elliott was in the 9 and Mayfield in the 19, Jeremy had better finishes every year at Watkins Glen.

I hope Everham's approach to this year backfires, and his "golden boy" Kasey Kahne fails to make The Chase. I hope Mayfield signs on with Bill Davis Racing. There, he will be the number one guy. BDR has not had any manufacturer support from Dodge, but is said to be heavily backed by Toyota. I believe it is the right situation all around for Jeremy to get back to his potential.

I don't like Busch, but once again the best car today probably won't win the race, because of Nascar rulings. I'm wondering if it was the 48 car what their decision would of been?

(not a 48 fan speaking)
Kurt still should have just drove straight through the pit lane....could have avoided the penalty that way. His radio troubles are not Nascar's fault.
Don't forget that Boris suffered the same fate last year with the pit lane penalty.

I actually had Harvick picked this week, most guys didnt I'm sure. Harvick consistently doesnt measure up to what his teammates are doing. Harvick is only good to use on about five tracks.
You shouldnt boast about a driver who after five years in the Cup level only wanted to make capturing the Busch title a goal at the beginning of the season.

He could have just gone throught with out pitting, but the # 2 team didnt really know that they may get hit with a penalty till after he was away from the stop. It was when he was going to restart in the 2nd spot when that had radio trouble. Nascar does need to change that rule. Kurt was to close to the line to turn back on to the track. There should have been no penalty there. Stupid NASCAR Rules. Anyway congrats to Kevin.

So, exactly which teammate is doing better than Harvick this year? No one. Last year? No one. 2004? No one. 2003? No one. 2002? No one. Unless the Robby Gordons and Jeff Greens of the world are your type of driver, then Harvick has been far and away the number one man at RCR until Burton showed up. Now they're 1A and 1B, and RCR is back at the top ;).

The reason for running the full Busch series this year was to help him at the Cup level. The results so far? Two wins, the second most top fives behind Kenseth, the second most top tens behind Johnson, and third overall in the standings. Looks like the plan worked.

Oh and on side note, way to go Ray. I mean I think Mayfield could have handled putting the car in the kitty litter. That was a smart move so far.

Yeah, couldn't agree with you more Mike. I have become almost anti-Everham drivers since Ray let Jeremy go. All I know is that today sucked with no driver to root for. At least the race was entertaining despite all the cautions.

The race on Saturday has got to be the best Busch race I have ever seen, granted I don't get to watch too many Busch races. Even though I don't like him, it's like Kurt said in victory lane about the final 10 laps of the race in that it reminded him of racing Ricky Craven at Darlington back in 2003 (still the best race I have ever seen).

There were too many cautions in this race. I'm glad KH beat Stewart, so it was all good and fun.

It was nice watching the 24 battle back through the field after that spin. Two tough weeks in a row. Hopefully it will get better next week.

And yes - NASCAR would enforce the rule if the 48 would have done what the 2 did...don't forget that the 24 got hit w/ the same exact penalty last year.

He can say whatever he wants. The numbers dont lie this year, hes getting it done. LMAO at the 5 tracks comment, when he has a Dale Jr. sign in his sig. Im a Junior fan but the truth is the truth.

According to Nascar.com:
Dale Jr.'s average spot in the points standings this year - 6.41
Harvick's average spot in the points standings this year - 9.82

Harvick only passed Dale Jr. in the standings these last three weeks (two of which, Dale Jr. had to finish dead last to let Harvick catch up)

Again, Harvick is second fiddle even on his own team - From Richmond, which Jr. won, all the way up to the Glen, Burton was ahead of Harvick in the standings.

Harvick has been on a tear these last five weeks (gained more points than any other driver in that span), but his little streak is about to come to an end. Yes, he will make the Chase, but even Mayfield made it the last two years.......I guess you can expect the same result.

Yes, you are right,..............the truth is the truth.

I said Burton was ahead in the standings in that period.
sidenote - you don't get points for dominating if you don't win the race. (as I remember it, Harvick had the lead, but he also had Kyle and Jr. right behind him the whole way......its not like he was a half lap ahead of them or anything.)

Yeah, but I think that they thought they were ok since he was already going onto pit road before the light went red. I mean after all he was very close to the line when the red light did come on. Just think about it if he didnt have to go to the back for pitting early he would have had a huge lead and he would have won hands down.

I guess your a psychic now right? His streak is about to come to an end? How do you know?

And averages dont mean anything now. You make the chase, or you dont. I never said anything about average point position. I mean your little 5 track comment... harvick has 12 top 10's, how can he be good on 5 tracks? Dont even compare Harvick to Mayfield. Mayfield got LUCKY. It seems to me that you just dont like Harvick... which is fine... but dont ignore the facts. 12 Top 10's, 3rd in points. And I hope Junior and Harvick both make the chase as I am huge fans of both... but for now Im enjoying Kevin's great runs... and I can see the truth.. hes 3rd in points... hes finally getting good equipment, and I love it... I dont need fancy average stats to prove anything. The proof is in the pudding.. Kev is getting it done when he needed it the most.

Even if I wasn't a big Mayfield fan, this would still be the most asinine comment I have ever read on this thread since it started. Yeah, ok, Mayfield got LUCKY for 26 races 2 years in a row??? What a joke.

Mayfield got in by the skin of his teeth in 2004 (Richmond Win), and 2005 got REAL lucky at Michigan to seal in a spot. Sure he made the chase both years, but it both came down to really a couple races that decided his spot in the top 10, not all 26. Im argumentive about my drivers too, so If I was in your spot, I would argue my point as well. I totally see what you mean.

It's all good. I can't argue your point about him barely getting in by winning at Richmond in 2004 or that they did get lucky with the pit strategy they used last August at Michigan in knowing they could go the final 52 laps or so on fuel. Had a caution came out in the final laps, he never would have made it on fuel. Hell, I was cussing them out the whole race until the final 7 laps or so until the NBC guru's said he could make it on fuel. However, consistency is still important. Had he not been consistant in 2004, Richmond would have been just a win, instead of a win that vaulted him into the Chase. The same could be said about the win in Michigan.

This year has been really frustrating. Now that I don't have my driver to root for, I have to kinda pull for other guys. I hope Harvick does well in the Chase, especially considering he grew up a couple of hours from me.

Robby buying RYR? UPDATE 2 Denied: The LTN Radio Network has learned that Robby Gordon has purchased Robert Yates Racing, #88 and #38 Cup teams and #90 Busch Series team to be effective this week. The Yates-Roush engine program is not included in the sale. No word on the status of the contracts between RYR and sponsors M&M/Mars and Citifinancial, and how they will be affected by the sale.(LTN Radio Network), if this is true...
UPDATE: a representative from Robert Yates Racing says this is NOT True and will not happen, denying that Yates is selling to Robby Gordon.
UPDATE 2: A report that Robby Gordon Motorsports [RGM] has purchased Robert Yates Racing's Cup and Busch Series teams was denied by officials with RGM Tuesday. But, John Story, CEO of Robby Gordon Motorsports, said the two teams have spoken about a possible merger of some sort. "As Robby stated several months ago, we have talked to a number of people both in and out of NASCAR about expanding, with the ultimate goal of fielding a championship-caliber team," Story said. "To be competitive in NASCAR's Cup series today, you've got to have multiple teams. So, yes, we've spoken [to RYR officials], but we've spoken with other people also. "That any sort of deal has been completed between the two teams is completely erroneous." According to the Internet story posted by the LTN Radio Network, the purchase of RYR by Robby Gordon Motorsports would be "effective this week." Story said the need to expand to multiple teams has led to discussions with a number of organizations currently competing in the series, including Hall of Fame Racing and PPI Motorsports among others. "Not surprisingly, a number of teams have contacted us as well," Story said. "But you can't just take two single-car teams and put them together and say you are now a multicar team. It's just not that easy. There are a number of issues that come into play." Those issues, he said, include concerns such as shop space, manufacturer representation, sponsorships and driver selection. "If you make a move like that," he said, "you have to make sure you're in lock step with one another. If anything changes, you have to agree on what the new path will look like."(SceneDaily.com)
UPDATE 3 from RGM: "The rumor that we have consummated a deal to purchase Robert Yates Racing is just that, a rumor. As we publicly stated several months ago, we have spoken to a number of organizations about the idea of aligning resources with the goal of creating a championship-caliber program. In today's NASCAR, great people and multiple teams are two of the requirements needed to win a championship and there are really only two ways for us to get there. The first is to find additional marketing partners for a second, third and fourth car, and the other is to align with another team that is interested in the same opportunities. For months we have been talking to multiple sponsors and teams, and while one of those teams is Robert Yates Racing, we have not purchased Robert's program."(John Story, General Manager and CEO, Robby Gordon Motorsports)(8-15-2006)

Jayski's is a rumor site......thats what makes it great and why they can report news before it becomes official..........sometimes, you have to deal with the garbage.

I really hate sounding like the guy who just wants to argue with everyone about everything, BUT, I could not disagree with you more.
Arguing passionately about your drivers is what makes Nascar great!
It's widely known that Nascar fans are more loyal and passionate and demanding more than any other sport (stick and ball included). That's why we have these discussions. I really and honestly believe that Dale Jr. is the best driver on the circuit. Other drivers have had more success but when you factor in what he has to work with with his team resources, personnel, technology, etc., he is the best in my eyes.
And I'm sure each and everyone of you reading this feels very similar about some other driver if yours isn't Dale Jr.That is what makes us fans better than any others. Sure there are 'fans' out there who like it because its 'in' or want to collect all the memorbilia just to sell it on an auction site at some point later down the road, but us diehard fans will always lash out at each other just because the number on our t-shirts are different.
And that is what makes this sport as great as it is.:D

Carl Edwards fined, placed on probation for Michigan incident

August 22, 2006

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (Ticker) - Carl Edwards' temper proved costly.

Edwards was fined $20,000 and placed on probation Tuesday for an incident over the weekend in the NASCAR Busch Series race at Michigan International Speedway.

It looked like Edwards was on his way to Victory Lane in Saturday's CARFAX 250 before Dale Earnhardt Jr. bumped him out of the way with two laps to go en route to winning the race.

The incident created a firestorm of controversy that included Edwards pulling in front of Earnhardt's pit area for a heated verbal exchange with Earnhardt's crew. Edwards then pulled back onto the track to ram into the side of Earnhardt's Chevrolet Monte Carlo on the cool-down lap, narrowly missing Earnhardt's left hand by a few inches.

"I put everything I can into winning races," Edwards said. "I was wrecked and I reacted. It was wrong on my part. NASCAR penalized me and I respect that. Most importantly I apologize if I upset any of my fans or sponsors."

Edwards, who wound up 23rd, was placed on probation until December 31. The driver for Roush Racing is third in the series standings, 486 points behind leader Kevin Harvick.

After recording the victory, the normally popular Earnhardt drew boos from the crowd at MIS

Wether or not Jr spun him, NASCAR has to come down alot harder on this guy then that!!!

As someone posted on the NASCAR forum:

What a joke………………$20,000 and more probation for endangering another driver - on purpose AND damaging another competitor's racecar - on purpose -- AND manhandling a winner in Victory Lane!!! But a curse word said in jubilation on national TV cost a Chase contender 25 points!!!!! Harvick gets parked; Spencer gets parked, but Nascar's "golly gee aw shucks guy" gets a slap on the wrist. HE'S ALREADY ON PROBATION - did they forget that???? So what - he's now on double probation????? Once again, Nascar is the most inconsistent governing body in sports today -- shame on them. Nascar will never be fully recognized as a "true sport" along with baseball, football and basketball until Nascar's governing body sets the rules, and is consistent in punishing those who don't abide by them.

The Junyher army sure has come out against Carl in force when Junyher was the one who wrecked Edwards :p . Yeah, I know Carl could have hurt Dale's hand but I seriously doubt that he knew Dale had his hand out of the window when he rubbed him.

You're right Posse. Its a who you know thing when it comes down to who gets what type of punishment. I think NASCAR felt they had to hit Jr. for 25 points for cussing because at that time the FCC was going nuts cracking down on that kind of stuff. I feltl it was the fault of NBC or whoever was doing the race at the time for not having a delay. ESPN just had that happen in the Little League World Series when a little kid got caught saying the F word. Again in my opnion ESPN should have the responsibility for what they put out on the air.

Well looks like ActionMcfarlane figs are no more. Cant say I am too sad, only like 10 to 15 drivers seemed to get a fig in what was it 6 series. Most of the poses were junk on top of that. There were some nice ones in Series 6 and some of the chases at the end were good. But it was just too late to save grace I guess.

I never understood why those things didnt fly off the shelves. I remember when series 1 came out I had a bunch of extra Rusty Wallace figs. I took them to Dover and sold them at 20 a piece to a vendor(that paid for my ticket and beer;) :D ). He turned around and sold them for 25. I think if they sold them at the tracks they would move. It would've helped if they could have gotten Roush drivers as well.

Ford Withdraws 2007 Nextel Cup Engine Plans - Roush says they were ‘Misled’

Toyota, Chevrolet, Dodge and Ford all submitted new engine designs for next season’s Nextel Cup tour. Rivals suspect that Ford’s withdrawal may be to pressure NASCAR to rethink the other manufacturers’ designs. But NASCAR’s John Darby, the Nextel Cup tour director, insisted that Ford’s move won’t affect NASCAR’s thinking about the other three engine designs.

“Toyota had to build an engine because it currently doesn’t have an engine that’s acceptable in Cup,” Darby said. “Chevrolet and Dodge are just updating their architecture; I don’t think that has anything to do with Toyota.

“Ford has withdrawn, feeling it wants a little longer to get it right before putting it onto the playing field. Ford is fairly confident its parts and pieces won’t put it at a disadvantage in 2007.”

However Ford’s Jack Roush complains that NASCAR changed the engine rules in midseason: “In February we were encouraged (by NASCAR) to do a new engine block but not to do new cylinder heads. In May we were told that others were submitting new heads as well as new blocks but that blocks were all anyone was going to get. The first of August we were told that others were getting new heads to go with the new blocks and if we had anything to put on the table they would consider it.

“We were misled.”

Hey guys just got back last night from the race. While it wasnt the typical wreck fest everyone anticipates at Bristol it was a good race in my opinion. It probably didnt make for good TV but watching it live was nerve racking. I do have a couple of pics that I took that I will get up here in the next day or two. Kyle Petty and Sadler wrecked right in front of us. I sat in the first row in turn 2. A side note to the trip that was really fun was the go cart racing we did. We stayed at a campground in VA and right next door was a go cart place. We ran on two different tracks with banking. The first track was a sprint car slick track. Those ran about 27 to 30 mph. The other was an asphalt banked tracked with the cars going 40mph. That track was so much fun. You could run the high and low line anywhere on the track. I wish there was something like that where I live. By the way, there where alot of hot chicks at the race too;) :D

Sorry it took so long but here are some pics from Bristol. I didnt take many as I was busy eating, drinking adult beverages and looking at chicks. I was very surprised by how many hot chicks where there. I was hoping not to see the stereotype no tooth chick.

This a view of the front entrance:

We went down to the souveneir trailers before they opened up. We got to the track at around 8a.m. We took a walk around but spent most of the day tailgating.

Yeah I guess there isnt much reason for them to stay once the race is done. When we left the track we had to go down a road where a bunch of the locals lined up on both sides of the road with a handful of beads yelling and looking for...well you know;)

Sorry about the 8 car Posse. I had you in mind when I took the pic of his trailer though.:D
I wish I had a better camera that would have handled the speed of the cars. Like I said before there weren't a ton of wrecks but there was still some good racing. The place we stayed at in VA had a go-cart track next to it. The had two banked tracks with the cars going 40mph. We spent about 5 or 6 hours there Friday night.
