I used to watch it fanatically. The crap that they have pulled the last few years has turned me off. Baseball and Hockey I watch all the way though. I haven't missed a Jackets game this season.

Yesterday sucked arse entirely, wasted 8hrs at the damn track for nothing

Spent another 8hrs there today then the damn rain came. But I did get some sick pictures, and a ton of truck autos today. It was pretty cool they didnt clear pit road for the Truck race, so I was standing in the pit box 2 boxes from the entrance shooting the trucks coming off turn 4 and also onto pit road.

I'll try and post some in a bit

Just looked at the exif on those pics and I had them all set to underexposed. Thank god I shoot RAW now, as it capsures the image as our eye sees it, before the camera settings and with Photoshop CS3 it allows you to tweak those settings before importing it. So I should have some nice, Properly exposed shots

I dont know how anyone could let Fantasy anyone want someone to finish ahead of their driver. I want Gordon to win no matter what. If the guy I have active gets wrecked and Gordon wins I am not about to cry over it. That is one reason I liked ESPN fantasy better because it doesnt limit you how many races you can have a driver. You can have him the entire season as long as you have the money for him.

I doubt we'll see Labonte in the 33 next year, if GM just wanted Bobby, (and the Petty's) they'd just stay there. If they want a car that can compete, which it seems they do, or they wouldn't be leaving, they'll go to RCR and get a new driver. Does anybody think Bobby going to RCR would help his career? (though granted, it couldn't get much worse). I don't see an incentive for RCR to retain his services.

Here's one to think on...Biffle's contract is up this year at Roush, perhaps it's time for him to cash in and check out of Roush and head to RCR's 4th car. (and it would also explain why they've announced it so early, so that all drivers available next year know an RCR car is on the market)

I think if they can't find a good veteran (such as Biffle), that we'll see it be a development driver car similar to how they're doing the 8 this year, perhaps with Wimmer and whoever else they have in their development stable.

I agree with the Burton comparison. As far as GM, I would think it is more Petty Enterprises than Bobby Labonte that they would jump ship. I would also see RCR picking up Labonte for this new team if for nothing else guaranteeing it gets in the show for the first 5 races.

A little tidbit about the fourth RCR car:

FORT WORTH, Texas - Richard Childress refused to start a fourth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team until sponsorship was well in hand. But with the announcement that General Mills was coming on board last week, the driver search can now begin.According to RCR sources, five drivers were offered up to the sponsor including Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Martin Truex Jr., and initially Bobby Labonte. Casey Mears has been another name mentioned if a driver change occurs with the No. 5 Chevrolet at the end of the season.

Honestly, I'm not mad at Kyle Busch for one second. If the 24 wasn't gonna cross that line (and no way did it look like it even when he was in the top five) I wanted Jr. to get the win.

But seriously, everyone should be pissed at Denny Hamlin and JGR. I'm not buying the fact that he thought he could finish the race on that crap tire he had. He purposely stayed out there to bring out the yellow to bring Kyle up to Jr's bumper for the restart. There would have been less than 10 laps to go and JR had more than a second lead on Kyle. Hamlin's move was totally team oriented and that's what killed Jr's chance for winning the race, not Kyle getting into him. Kyle looked like he could have gotten by Jr in the next lap or so, but punting Jr. definitely blew a top three for the 88.

Im easing my way back into Nascar after having a nephew get into the old cartoon series. I personally prefer the racing overseas (Australia ) but im coming around. Btw...if anyone here has any of the Nascar Racers toys from the animated series on Fox back in 2000 i believe im paying $70.00 for them. I only want two as i have 2 little race fans. Im open to any but im only buying 2 maximum and would prefer Mark Charger McCutchen and/or Steve Flyer Sharp. Loose or MOC.

These are the Nascar "futuristic" race cars that had small poseable race car drivers of various ethnicities and gender (1 woman) w/ helmets.

Well long day there. I went to quite a few of the shops. Sorry for the blurry pictures at the start. My camera was set to some weird setting that made the pictures come out blurry. The other ones that came out blurry were taken through glass which is hit or miss with my camera. It would focus on the light coming from the windows behind where you are standing making stuff come out blurry.

LONG POND, Pa. -- Richard Childress Racing teammates Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer had been playing a bit of musical cars with the highly-coveted 12th spot in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series Race to the Chase.

As of late, both Harvick and Bowyer, depending on who slips up or gains ground, have traded places multiple times as the 12th-ranked driver in the points race, the last position to qualify for the Chase.

The competition between the two teammates has remained close since the July race at Daytona International Speedway as both take turns as the one looking outside the Chase and vice versa.

Be it one teammate looking inside or the other out, the match ended Sunday during the Pennsylvania 500. Advantage: RCR as both teammates -- Harvick and Bowyer -- are in the theoretical Chase, for now at least.

Five races remain until the cut-off event at Richmond International Raceway in September.

Harvick's most recent turn to be the one looking outside the top 12 came after the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard last weekend. The driver was a victim of Kurt Busch's accident and finished 37th, dropping him to the 13th position in the points race. Bowyer capitalized and moved up one spot to 12.

Sunday at Pocono Raceway, a fourth-place, comeback-style finish after a Lap 1 spin for Harvick drove the driver up two positions to 11th (watch video).

"We don't give up, I can promise you that," Harvick said.

Harvick protected the car and continued to work towards a strong finish, despite a more than 40-minute red flag rain delay.

"We stick in there and fight, even when they tell us we're done," Harvick said. "To come to Pocono and finish in the top five is a huge accomplishment for me."

Harvick found himself outside the top 12 last season after the July Daytona race, recovered and entered the 2007 Chase with little cushion in 11th position. But, Harvick said he tries not to dwell on the mathematics of the game. He's "Happy" as long as he and his team are within striking distance.

"I don't really follow that too closely just for the fact that you go out and race as hard as you can and you want to try to win every week, and if you can't win, do the best you can," Harvick said. "And wherever that puts us is what you do. So we wouldn't do anything different even if we were counting points."

At the same time, just five races remain in deciding the field for the Chase and Harvick, as well as the rest of the drivers floating around the 12th spot, can't afford any more mistakes; that includes his teammate Bowyer.

He too benefited from a strong run Sunday finishing sixth, retaining his 12th place position in the point race.

"It was kind of weird. Just track position with this car is everything. We had a flat right there at the beginning, I didn't qualify very well, and that didn't help anything," Bowyer said. "We have to work on our qualifying program and still have to work on our big track program. You have to take these good finishes when you can. Obviously I hated to give up that to Harvick. Even [David Ragan] beat us. We just have to get better."

Bowyer said he's familiar with the high-pressure situation of the 12th spot; it makes you the vulnerable man on the track.

"It's crunch time. We've put ourselves in a situation," Bowyer said. "We were running well at the beginning of the year then got to struggling on these big tracks, got to chasing our tails a little bit so to speak."

Bowyer proved last season he was capable of getting the job done in 2007, landing his first Cup victory at Loudon and making the Chase in his sophomore season.

"If we do what we are supposed to do, we will be just fine," he said. "But definitely, we are in the crunch zone and we need to get out of it."

If he gets out of it, Harvick seems to go in it. The position the two teammates are in now is similar to where they were heading into the Chase last year.

Bowyer is optimistic about climbing higher into the point standings in light of the tracks that lay ahead.

"We are excited about it," Bowyer said. "At least we have a shot at this thing and that is all you can ask for. There is a lot of pressure on everybody. There are still five races to go, a lot can happen. Just have to be smart here and not get too excited but it is time to get going."

So one of the best weekends of the year is finally here. Yes it is time for Petit Le Mans. I went to the practice and qualifying today. Filled up all 4 of my memory cards for my camera. My camera isnt that great as you can probably tell. Tomorrow for the race I will have my dads camera which is I believe a 10 megapixel with a 12x zoom compared to my 2 megapixel with 3x zoom. Although I dont know when I will be able to upload the pictures from the race since they will be on his camera. Anyway I ended up with 200 pics so far. The ALMS is great, I mean what other series can you pretty much get runover by the cars coming off and going onto the track with only the price of admission. Here is a link to the pictures.

I've read about the possibilty of the fields shrinking, but we will see what happens. I haven't heard anything about the Sprint guys not being eligible for points in the Nationwide series though.

They just need to do away with the Chase period. It pretty much makes the first 26 races pointless once the chase starts.
