Today was a Nascar day for me. My son and I went and picked up Nascar 2005 for Xbox. The game is awesome. You start out on dirt tracks, and work your way up through trucks, Busch, then Nextel. If anyone has it and wants to race on Xbox live let me know.

Then we went to TRU, and I picked up the Jimmie Johnson no glasses that has been avoiding me.

Our domestic chanels suck a*s so they put these restrictions in place to protect them. Can you believe that in communist Cuba (practically a third world country) you can get HBO and ESPN but not in Canada? Pathetic!
Getting the same event or movie on two different channels is a common occurance here.
For instance, the World Series will be on FOX, but TSN or Sportsnet is also going to carry it.
Monday Night Football is also like that. We can get it on the ABC, but another local channel will also show it, makes no sense. Everybody can pick up the closest US affiliate of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX, why they would show the same thing on another channel at the same time baffles me.

You called???????? :D Upper Deck started making Nascar cards in 1995! ;) They stopped in 2000, as the licencing costs were too high, and it wasn't profitable enough! :( The SP Authentic brands in 99 and 00 were my favorites! Autograph pull odds were 1:11 packs so you got 2 autos at least per box! :)

'I used to run a sports bar in town and got a lot of hockey (Lindros jerseys x5, 96 Avs Championship team auto'd jersey, Ricci, Whalers). I used to send away for a bunch too. The only way I would want autos is either in person, or a through a legit method (card company etc). Would not mind getting the NASCAR guys I like (Gordon, Johnson, Newman, Stewart, Jr.)

As I am sitting here flipping between 2 football games, and the race, I am reminded of an article that I read a few months back. Nascar is toying with the idea of making the majority, if not all of the races Saturday night races once the NFL starts. That way they don't have to compete with the NFL on Sundays. Would you guys(and gals if you are in here) like this? Personally I would love it, and I think that it would work great. I love Saturday races(especially the ones I can travel to). Would love to hear everyones opinion on this.

NEW YORK -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. (http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/driver?series=wc&driverId=150) has trouble remembering those frantic seconds when he escaped from his burning racecar. He believes, however, that his late father figured in his survival.



"I don't want to put some weird, you know, psycho twist on it like he was pulling me out or anything, but he had a lot to do with me getting out of that car," the NASCAR star said. "From the movement I made to unbuckle my belt to lying on the stretcher, I have no idea what happened."



Earnhardt recalled that perilous July day in Sonoma, Calif., during an interview with correspondent Mike Wallace for "60 Minutes" that will be broadcast Wednesday on CBS.



Earnhardt's father was killed three years ago during the final lap of the Daytona 500. The son insists he felt his father's presence on the day when he scrambled out of his flaming car and was left with second-degree burns on his legs, neck and chin. In fact, he said, when he reached safety, he began inquiring about the "person" who helped him from the car.



Earnhardt told "60 Minutes" he grabbed one of his representatives by the collar, "screaming at him to find the guy that pulled me out of the car. He was like, 'Nobody helped you get out,' and I was like, 'That's strange because I swear somebody ... had me underneath ... my arms and was carrying me out of the car."'



Wallace asks whether that was his father.



"Yeah, I don't know," Earnhardt said. "You tell me. It ... freaks me out today just talking about it. It just gives me chills."

Which brand from the new cards has the best selection of Busch drivers?
Press Pass is the only company that currently makes NASCAR cards. They make 8 different sets over the course of a year. The Busch series drivers only appear in a few of the sets. If my memory serves me right it would be these:

Press Pass( first release of the year always in December or early Jan.)
Wheels High Gear (always next in the release schedule, although the releases were mixed up this year)
Optima (set to release in just 2 weeks)
Trackside

I was able to get the Busch for $11.51, so I sniped it! :D Your right about Rusty's auto being awful, but he's been my driver since 1988, so I gotsta stay loyal! ;) The guy that I bought those off of on ebay had about 20 or 30 Rusty autos listed at the same time (all different), and they all closed together at the same time as well! He also had them pictured in groups of 4, so when I bid on them, I wasn't totally sure which one I was getting! I also, bid on 3 at the same time, hoping to win at least one of them, and voila, I won all 3! :eek: :cool:

The only 96 Upper Deck Jeff Gordon listed in the Racing Beckett, has one listed at $200, but it is from the Road To The Cup" insert. Being out of 1000 probably would be in the $100-$150 range, I'm guessing!
