"NASCAR Drivers: 360" television show to return :)
from motorsport.com:
MOVE OVER, MARK BURNETT: Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, Mark Martin, and Kenny and Rusty Wallace will be featured in the greatly anticipated second season of the acclaimed "NASCAR Drivers: 360," an unscripted reality show featuring some of the top drivers from the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. Riding the ever-swelling waves of both NASCAR and reality TV, "NASCAR Drivers: 360" gives an unvarnished look at some of the up and coming drivers, families and teams of the Cup Series, focusing primarily on their lives away from the tracks. Produced by Tony Krantz ("24," "Sports Night") and Scott Messick ("Survivor"), "NASCAR Drivers: 360" will run seven one-hour episodes on FX.

Yea, i saw that, I ordered a case a few weeks ago durring kim's case sale for $75 . Guess they must not have sold many to drop another $22 bucks. And just to add insult to injury I didn't even get a Lobonte in the Series 2 case. I ordered a case of the Nascar 1 as well and the day I got them I got an email from another place I've dealt with that they had Series 1 for $30 less. My luck and McFarlanes seems to be pretty bad.
But oh well, at least I finally got some hobby figs. Now I just have to track down some straglers... :)

Here is a a photo from the display case I made that is visible in the bottom right of the second photo of some of the nicer cars I have. I can't find a decent picture of the one beside it that has a bunch more Action cars I have, i'll have to take another picture and post. Also, you can't see it in the photo, but the Kid Rock car is autographed by Kid Rock.

I have a lot of Winners Circle and Racing Champions. Most of my collection is also 1/64 scale cars. I have been getting into more of just collection 1/24 Gordon cars every once in a while. Dont really get many nascar die cast anymore. I have 1/64 scale cars of just about everyone.

I kinda luck out on the WC cars as I work at a retailer that carries them (though I found out we're not getting the next shipment until week 8 which is the first week of april!) But even without that connection, there are 2 Meijers and 2 Walmarts between work and my house that I try to swing into whenever I have the time looking for Nascar figures since my company doesn't carry them anymore. So i usually have myself covered when it comes to WC. I'm pretty stoked that WC finally put checklists up on the website of whats out there to hunt down, cause in years past you never knew if you got them all or not.

As far as new stuff, I don't really buy that much. I'll get a 2005 Viagra car when I see one, hopefully a hauler too. I have at least one Mark Martin car from every year dating back to 1992 (including several Winn Dixie cars).

Just checking in from trip #1 (going again in a couple of hours, he had to work for a couple of hours today):
OMG!!!!!!!
The first load of stuff was about 85% Mark Martin stuff (the rest consisting of Roush drivers from 1992 to about 2000, the most recent non-Mark car being a early Kenseth) A TON of pre-Viagra/Pfizer stuff. Several Racing Champions limited two-car sets, lots of MOC/MIB cars and haulers. (I'm taking the camera over to the other house *I'm in the process of moving* with me in time for trip #2). Mostly 1/64 scale, but there's also a few Quartzo 1/43's and some 1/24's.
On the NON-diecast front, I also brought over Mark's book "Driven To Race", and Winston Cup yearbooks from 1999 (DJ winning the Cup), 1993, and *gasp* 1992!!!!!!
Leaving at about 3-ish to go back for trip #2. A lot of the non-Mark Roush stuff will be in load #2.

Just got back from the other house unpacking load #2 (and eating, and chilling, and more unpacking, more chilling, then taking a shower and coming home). This load was the exact opposite of the first: 85% non-Mark Martin Roush drivers, 15% Mark. A TON of loose cars and transporters in display cases. I spent most of the night consolidating a lot of the cars/haulers into fewer display cases.
Oh, and Posse, I DID find a lone Jr. car. It's a single packed car of his MLB All Star Game paint scheme.
Also found:
-A TON of the Racing Champions Stock Rods. My uncle took the cars/cards/bases and single packed them into plastic 100-count card cases.
-A few carded Stock Rods
-All 4 of RC's 13-car sets for Nascar's 50th Anniv (12 cars plus a gold chrome Nascar car in each set)
-Leather boxed Stroh's Light 2 pack for Mark
-Premeier Edition Winn Dixie hauler (lord knows how many times i drooled over that thing!!!!)
One more trip or two should knock out the driver-specific stuff. And then it's to the mass of stuff that's in his garage!
I'll have pics up soon, I'm just too lazy to upload them right now! LOL

Okay guys, just got done (TRYING to) sort all this stuff out, and I came up with an idea:
If I sold lots of 10 totally random MOC cars for like $15 or $20 shipped, how many of you would buy any? Cuz I'll tell ya what: there has to be a good couple of hundred MOC cars (at least) with probably just as many if not more loose cars. And there's just NO way I can possibly store all these puppies. There's all sorts of different years, companies, drivers, you name it.
And I haven't even gotten to the haulers yet!!!!!!
So, if any of you WOULD buy any lots of cars I would set up (I'm not doing this YET, I'm just asking around to see who would be interested) let me know, and depending on how many people are interested, I may sell them like that.

Haven't been around much - kinda gettin bored with the "other" sport SP's. Still love the NASCAR though. Glad it's finally back - going to be a tough year w/o a driver (Ward Burton) to root for. Guess if Ward doesn't pick up something mid season I'll have to find a new driver. Kinda sucks - been a Ward fan since 96'.
We'll see how Bliss does in that piece of crap 0 car. Yeah, Ward was the problem.....

Ok how about this question. Not who do you think is going to win the 500, but who would you love to see win it??
This is Mark Martin last chance at it. He is a super nice guy as well. I love to see him win it.
But if not him then Dale Jr. :D

Harvick has always had bad blood between him and fellow drivers. Still don't get the desire to wreck somebody just to try and win a race to start 4th in the 500. If Harvick had a sense of thought he would of just stayed put and finished in one piece.

Nascar should park him for the 500 just like they did at that race in Martinsville I believe. After he told everyone he was going to spin out that guy in the truck race, then went ahead and spun him on the restart. Sitting out of the 500 would be a major thing for him and his sponsors.

Whew. Glad to see he'll be ok. His car has looked strong all week.
And as far as XM goes, I love it too. You get all that extra dirt like you said, how Nascar told Harvick & JJ that they need to work this out, or else Nascar will. They also said how Harvick & JJ will meet last night (some undisclosed) to work it out. Who knows, maybe a race on the beach or something. Kinda like Cole & Rowdy in Days of Thunder, I guess. :D

I didn't like the Nascar station when I first got it, but in it's defense it was the off season, so I wasn't being fair. Now that it has started it is awesome. They give you coverage that you would never ever get anywhere else. Even though I am pissed at XM for killing XM Liquid Metal, I am keeping it for Nascar and MLB. Also, nothing funnier than some of these hilljacks that call in to the talk shows.

He wasn't screwed by the ruling he was screwed by the rule. I hate the rule that freezes the field when the caution comes out. Hamilton could have only been in front by 2 inches and for 2 seconds, but if the caution comes out then he is frozen and automatically wins. I understand Nascar doesn't want the guys racing back to the yellow if there is a big wreck, but there isn't anything more anticlimactic (since the green-white-checkered) than seeing a race end when the field is frozen on the final lap. Both Daytona races have been competitive, but end in a blink of an eye when the caution comes out. This leads to more controversy trying to determine who was ahead of who, when exactly the caution happened, and where the drivers were when the caution lights come on. It seems like Nascar could have a better way of letting the races end.

Yes the ruling sucks, yes they should go back to the old truck ending. Keep doing the green-white-checkered until somebody wins, the last race the trucks used it, at Milwaukee, they had to do it 4 times to get a winner. Nascar likes to have controversey because they believe it will bring people to the sport.

Nice run for Riggs, and two old timers Rusty and Mark! :) Awesome job by Kevin Lepage getting a nice top 10 finish (9th) He'll be able to run a couple more races at least! I had Gordon, and Jr till Thursday, and swapped the #24 for Stewart! Oh well! Had Riggs, too! :D

-If they sponsor Gordon or Johnson, I flat out won't use/eat/drink it. Period.
-I DO shop at Home Depot, but then again, they almost always have cheaper prices than (B)Lowe's anyway.
-I DO drink Mt Dew but it's not cuz of Kahne lol.
-I do NOT take Viagra (that would be trying to take the support of Mark a little TOO far HAHA)
-I don't drink any beer, but like avsfan, I hate beer anyway.
-Back when Valvoline sponosred Mark and Havoline was on the 28 car, I would ONLY use either one of the two oils in my car.
-I had no qualms with eating at Hooters back in the days of Alan Kulwicki (still have no qualms either, but that's a different story lol)
-And you can imagine how furious I was when I saw the Star Wars scheme on Rainbow Brite's car ;)
-I do use Sharpie's but that was LOOOOOOOONG before Kurt (IDIOT) Busch

Kurt really didnt blow it either, even he said he didnt really have anything for Gordon. If he went to the outside, he would have been hung out to dry just like Gordon was when he went to the outside of Tony with about 25 to go or so.
Thats one of the problems with plate races. It is hard to pass the leader. All the leader has to do is stick to the inside and when someone trys to make a move the person behind them will go with the leader most of the time. Then you go back to the end of the line.

LOL the use or non use of products because of Nascar just cracks me up. Lets see. I love Lowes, but then again I was a manager there, and I made quite a bit of money working at Lowes. I am still loyal to them, as they were good to me when I worked for them. I go to Home Depot, but only if I am in a pinch, and Lowes doesn't have what I need. I really don't care for the store though. I love Pepsi. Always have. I have never liked Coke products. I don't drink Bud, not because of Jr. though. I just think Budweiser is nasty. I like Coors Light, but I am not a Marlin fan. I can't stand Kurt Busch, but I why use any other marker besides a Sharpie? I am a huge Gordon fan, but I won't use Quaker State. I drink Diet Pepsi because it tastes better....wont put Quaker State in my 4 cyl...only Castrol Syntec..dont eat chips, don't need Viagara yet....but in 30 years maybe so I'll keep that option open...drink Coors light/Canadian as well, but have no attachment to Sterling..I use Sharpie's all the time, as there isn't anything better, and I do not like the Elf...Have Dewalt tools...although I tolerate Kenseth....he is not my favourite...Can't get Interstate Batteries that I know of....Cant stand UPS, Fed Ex is way better.

There's pics of most of this stuff in my yahoo photos link that I listed before, also. Here goes!
-1993 Nascar Winston Cup Yearbook. GORGEOUS shape! $25 +ship
-Davey Allison: A Celebration of Life. Also in gorgeous shape. $25 +ship
-Lot of 6 Mark Martin 1/64cars, all MIB. One Racing Champions, the rest RCCA. A great collection starter of some really good quality cars. $25 +ship
-1992 Racing Champions Dave Marcis 1/64 car, loose with card and stand, but card is SIGNED by Dave Marcis himself! $10 shipped.
*shipping is $6 on all the items listed above except for the signed Marcis car
I WILL also do the "10 random MOC cars for $20" thing for whoever wants to get a bundle.

When you have a run on a car, you have to take it when you can. To tell you the truth, Gordon wasnt going to leave the bottom. That ment that the only way JR could get past was to go high, and Kurt would have probably stuck with Gordon on the bottom.

Gordon, Rudd hit hardest by Speedweeks fines
In all, 15 violations brought penalities to 11 individuals
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR announced Wednesday that 15 penalties -- including 11 fines totaling $102,000 -- have been issued to Nextel Cup Series teams resulting from rule violations during the Budweiser Shootout and Daytona 500 race weeks at Daytona International Speedway.
http://i.cnn.net/cnn/images/1.gifhttp://i.a.cnn.net/nascar/2005/news/headlines/official/02/23/daytona_fines/Robby.Gordon.193.jpghttp://i.cnn.net/cnn/images/1.gif
ROBBY GORDON
Two of those penalties were issued to Robby Gordon Motorsports, including the most severe fine -- $50,000 for crew chief Bob Temple -- because of an unapproved intake manifold on the No. 7 Chevrolet discovered during the initial Daytona 500 inspection process on Feb. 11.
Jim Smith, Robby Gordon's car owner, was penalized 25 car owner championship points. The No. 7 was in violation of Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components, and/or equipment that do not conform to NASCAR rules).
Gordon currently has no driver championship points, because the No. 7 failed to make the Daytona 500 field. Smith, however, earned 31 owner points at Daytona. Per the Nextel Cup Series rule book, a car owner receives points based on qualifying results, if their car fails to actually qualify for a starting field.
Four penalties were issued to Wood Brothers Racing because of an unapproved spoiler adjustment on the No. 21 Ford that took place after pre-race inspection for the Gatorade Duel at Daytona (Daytona 500 qualifying races) on Feb. 17.
Ricky Rudd was penalized 25 driver points; Glen Wood was penalized 25 owner points; and crew chief Michael McSwain was fined $25,000.
Also, crew member Marc Smith was suspended from NASCAR competition until March 31. The No. 21 also was in violation of Sections 12-4-A and 12-4-Q.
http://i.cnn.net/cnn/images/1.gifhttp://i.a.cnn.net/nascar/2005/news/headlines/official/02/23/daytona_fines/RIcky.Rudd.193.jpghttp://i.cnn.net/cnn/images/1.gif
RICKY RUDD
Pete Rondeau, crew chief on the No. 8 Chevrolet driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., was fined $10,000 for an unapproved third gear transmission ratio. The violation was discovered during the initial inspection for the Budweiser Shootout on Feb. 10. The No. 8 was in violation of Section 12-4-A and 12-4-CC (unapproved rear end gear or transmission gear ratio).
David Charpentier, crew chief for the No. 14 Ford driven by John Andretti, was fined $10,000 because of improperly attached weight, a violation of 12-4-A and 12-4-W (improperly attached weight) determined during pre-race inspection for the Daytona 500 on Feb. 20.
Also, the following Nextel Cup crew chiefs were issued $1,000 fines:
• Harold Holly (No. 32 Chevrolet driven by Bobby Hamilton Jr.), because of an unapproved fuel cell well (violating Section 12-4-U) found during the initial Daytona 500 inspection on Feb. 11. There were false panels inside the well.
• Jimmy Elledge (No. 41 Dodge driven by Casey Mears), because of an unapproved window net (12-4-Q) found during initial Budweiser Shootout inspection on Feb. 10.
• Jim Penland (No. 23 Dodge driven by Mike Skinner), because of an unapproved window net (12-4-Q) found during initial Daytona 500 inspection on Feb. 11.
• Robert Leslie (No. 33 Chevrolet driven by Kerry Earnhardt), because of an unapproved window net (12-4-Q) found during initial inspection for the Daytona 500 on Feb. 11.
• Beau Tiffany (No. 52 Ford driven by Larry Gunselman), because of an unapproved fire suppression agent (12-4-Q) found during initial Daytona 500 inspection on Feb. 11.
• Stanton Hover Jr. (No. 80 Ford driven by Andy Belmont), because of an unapproved side window (12-4-Q) found during initial Daytona 500 inspection on Feb. 11.
• Hover, because of an unapproved fire bottle (12-4-Q) found during the 500's initial inspection process on Feb. 11.

My old man was at the Vegas test session and said Gordon looked to have a very very strong car. That means he may be pretty strong at Fontana since the tracks are close in shape and banking. I don't hate Gordon like I used to, but I really hope he and Jimmie don't sominate this whole year. I'm hoping to see some new winners this year like Kahne, Mears, Truex, etc. I just have a bad feeling the Hendricks duo will be a ***** to beat this year.
