someone please explain steampunk to me

it's a genre of science fiction. the concept is this, really: what if technology came about in an earlier time? steampunk usually takes place in the victorian era, and includes things that never actually existed back then, like computers and such.

[edit] looks like someone beat me to it!

The concept is good, but they just look bad. More so the figures themselves than how they turned out.

If that makes any sense.

While not a fan of most steampunk I like these, they most definitely hit the mark.

Two things I would change though, one is getting darth out f the outfit and making a more metal looking designed cape, secondly I would drop the size of artoo's detail, giving him a little finer look.

steampunk is really taking off recently
considering that it's been around for a while ... it has just been getting more and more popular in the last 2 years :D

it makes sense... you're just utterly wrong. Those are fantastic and you're very very wrong. How's it feel to be so completely wrong? ;) :D

I'd have to be wrong in order to feel what it's like to be wrong. ;):D

The concept I think is better than the execution, but they're still extremely cool. More steampunk is always a good thing.

metal cape? The look he was going for was jackets I would have suggested a longer jacket. The thing about R2 is he is a furnace and shouldnt look slim and fine he needs to be bulky.

I like everything about Vader except his mask, specifically his hamburger-for-a-mouth.

I guess I would have approached the whole concept of Vader differently. I would have gone for a big, bulky suit, like an old diving suit or one of the big daddies from BioShock, since the thing is supposed to be a life support system as much as anything else.

I think they're freaking AWESOME! I don't do steampunk yet but noticed a good 10 emails a week I get are requesting that style of figures, usually steampunk Marvel heroes.

not really digging the Vader, but the others are great. You have to go to his website to see it, but the R2 lights up inside.
