2 Halo customs!

Hey guys, I may be a new user, but I've been coming here for a long time. I also go by the name HR2X (on multiple other forums) so some customizers *may* recognize me. Anyway, the first custom was done a while back, I just never got around to posting it. He's none other than red vs blue's Grif! He's equipped with some rare-earth magnets (just like all of Jin's Halo customs (love your work by the way)) The second one is my armor set in the game.. now, I knew the Rogue helmet was coming, but I'm impatient :p

If so a wash would really make the top custom really nice looking. Check my thread i have alot of progress photos of my work. It will show some before & after washes. The second one looking good if you want comment that can help i would buff out the helmet a little bit then repaint. Keep up the good work! If you did not want comments sorry just trying to help.

I can take comments, I've been customizing figures for about 10 years now. Grif has a wash, first, I gave him a flat base of orange, then a wash followed by a dry brush of yellow/orange.

My custom... I pretty much got annoyed with it at this point.. because the wash darkened the yellow too much.

I totally know what you mean. My orange custom i been doing off & on for almost a month now. Also metallic really looks nice on the halo figures. More expensive then apple barrel & other flat colors. I bought about 20 2oz bottles for $1.79 each on sale. Folk Art If you are wondering. Well i am going to go eat. Keep up the good work.

Was thinking if you do not like the wash on the figure why not try a black wash it might drown out some of that other wash you do not like. Then add more whatever color wash on top of that. Did you seal it once before you did the wash? If not i recommend doing one seal before a wash. If something is on there to much i wet the spot down & whip clean off. Hope this helps you.

I did use a black wash... however, the color wash sounds like a good idea

Griffffff!!! Awesome work DMM! Love how he's got his ball. And you can always go back and drybrush over a wash to lighten it, I do that all the time.

Of course, TMP is coming out with that Gold Rogue Spartan in series 3... so I may wait for that.

Turn into MP char with secondary colors. You will have something special then.
