The look amazing, I can't wait for the Elite, hope I can find him at retail! The only thing I'm bummed about is the Flood's lack of articulation, but we've been spoiled by the Spartans, so no big deal. All of the Spartans look great, can't wait for these!!

I'm just glad I'm not a completest, lol.. I'll try to get the orange Hayabusa from a couple homies I hooked up in the past, but if not, no biggie to me... I just wish there were more Elites, lol.. but I guess the ratio is about right playing online, 1 elite to every 50 spartans you see(unless you play SWAT, then it's the other way around)

I love series 3, although I would have liked a few more Elites. Seeing as the Elite is in the Multiplayer section his armor is probably removable, like the Spartans, which should mean that more Elites will be coming in the future (hopefully).
The Silver Mark 6 looks great, and I hope he does come with the Needler. Are the weapons in these new pictures the correct weapons that will come with the figures?

Combat Elite is pretty much a campaign figure, which brings us up to five figures for Campaign-the same we've had in Series 1 and Series 2.

I think it looks cool, especially the chest plate. It was the armor permutation that I was most looking forward to before we knew it's name and before I found out it wasn't unlockable. In other words, I don't want it solely because it's rare. I just want it.

However, I have to admit I'd be excited to see any new permutations become available. I'm pretty tired of what we have.

I'm gonna be pretty P.O'd if the Elites get sideswiped by the onslaught of Spartans... gotta say, I got sick of the Spartans in the Joyride line, I'm sick of seeing them online (admittedly, I haven't created an Elite for online play yet, but that's just because I won't even bother if I never have time to play anyway... which is kind of how it's working right now...). Now, I'm gettin' a little sick of the variations - admittedly, I'm probably going to pick up a Spartan or two b'sides MC from series 1 and 2, but I was an Elite completist w/ Joyride's line, and will be the same here... assuming we get armor variations. B'sides, the Spartan 2 Project was pretty grisley, and the following onslaught from the Covenant put an end to the majority of those Super Soldiers (thanks to the kick-ass Elites, of course). We've assumed up 'til now that John-117 is the last of his kind, but I haven't been to Blood Gulch in a while...

Darn you McFarlane!). I mean what kind of poses did you have planned for your flood human anyway?

The logic is pretty obvious. Both Brute Chieftains require a lot of the same molds-just like the Brute Stalker. It's an unsurprising way to save cash. Besides, a lot more people are gonna buy a Darth Vader then a common Stormtrooper.

I understand that the molds are the same. But people are only going to buy one or two of each chieftain, i.e. one or two darth vaders. People will definitley buy more than one stormtrooper, i.e. more than one brute captain or minor. So making them would be if anything more profitable than chieftains. Besides, the captains and minors are the pinnacle covenant enemies of the game. I really would like to see them in series 4.

If you were to ask hasbro which has sold more over the years, stormtroopers or darth vader, the stormtrooper would win, simply because most people would buy multiples of it.

just a lil bit disappointed about Recon not being in this series. :( that BBTS listing had me excited for awhile.... well here's hoping it's in Series 4, along with Miranda, Johnson and Guilty Spark with a sentinel. after playing the Living Dead double thing this weekend with the bf, i'm convinced that the ultimate exclusive would be a Bungie Store zombie colored Recon soldier with flaming head if possible.

What about an Engineer figure as a pack-in with the next repainted Grunt? The repaints save on tooling costs and the Grunt utilizes less material to produce. Both factors make the economics of an Engineer packed with a Grunt reasonable, particularly as the Engineer could be a statue with a peg to simulate hovering - no articulation to add cost.

As a pack-in is the only way I'll ever see an Engineer and I want to round out my Covenant complement.

I don't think it'll be a common release figure, no. I think it's going to be a harder to get exclusive.

Anyway Halo123, I'm just letting you know what I believe the most obvious reason for doing these specific Brute figures is. It seems unlikely to me that the three Brute characters released so far just happen to have the same under-armor...I believe it was fully intentional. Look on the bright side-every other Brute figure has a similar situation in which they all have the same under armor, so should Series 4 contain a "common" Brute, then the chances for more of that variety increase exponentially.

Series 3 has underwhelmed me for some reason. The brute just doesn't look right IMO, but then again, I pretty much hated halo 3 brutes (Not the armor, rather the brutes themselves). Even so, I loved the series 1 brute, he didnt look so goofy. As for the jackal..it is cool, but just a new head and weapons..and that shield looks funny. The Flood looks awesome, I cant wait to get that..only thing he needs are some of the little flood infection things with him. Chief is...Chief...it would be pretty cool if they did a battle damaged variation or something..or maybe something with a deployed bubble shield? I dont know..
And well the multiplayer figures...eh. They arent bad at all, Im just not a fan of some of the choices or color variations..even so Im sure I will pick a few up. The Elite looks awesome though, and he will be one I will aim to get.

I suppose what I want are just some basic marines, grunts and some key characters right now..Maybe series 4 will take a different approach giving us more campaign characters..maybe even some "expanded universe" stuff.

Still...I cant wait for this line to come out..but thats still a while away =P

I'm sure I'm not the first to make this observation, but it's new to me because the Halo line is the first that I've aggressively pursued. It seems that the exclusives for smaller oprations like D&R (which doesn't even have a working web store) or Transworld (which has a bunch of different record stores, I guess?) are pretty much guaranteeing a kind of grey market for these exclusives. They'll sell out for sure, but I'm gonna wind up paying through the nose to get them from someone who lives near those stores.

Man, Honestly all these Spartans are starting ti turn my stomach. I know the is only me, but the only ones I like are the Mark VIs, with the CQBs following a close second. The rest are hit and miss. I would honestly prefer less Spartans all around next time. I know every one has their favorites, but still. For completists this is a little insane.

My favorite figure though has got to be Shipmaster/Commander Rtas 'Vadum. He makes me excited about the Elites all over again. XD

Oh, and clear Needlers FTW! I wonder if they remolded the Violet's left hand to make him hold that Spiker like that?

I would honestly prefer less Spartans all around next time. I know every one has their favorites, but still. For completists this is a little insane.

My favorite figure though has got to be Shipmaster/Commander Rtas 'Vadum. He makes me excited about the Elites all over again. XD

Besides, the captains and minors are the pinnacle covenant enemies of the game. I really would like to see them in series 4.

I agree, but lest we forget the incredibly cool Jump Pack Brutes also. Basically any Brutes 'styles' which appear in droves in the game should make an appearance in Series 4, I hope.

First off all these figures look great. Major props to Mcfarlane. The Combat Elite is especially awesome.

I do have to say the all the exclusive Spartans have already gotten way old though. Do we really need 13 versions of multi player Spartans? And thats just series 3! I for one have no interest in these and will only focus on the campaign assortments from here on out. That is aside from the Elite, which should be part of the campaign assortment anyway.

I hope moving forward they don't continue shift the focus away from the Campaign characters. Only 4 figures is disappointing.

I'm looking forward to finally getting a Brute Captain, Sgt Johnson, and some Marines for series 4...

The problem is they would be very tiny pieces of plastic. I don't know how feasible they would be for manufacturing. If all else fails you could just make a ball of some soft material and then paint it easily enough....still, I see your point.

Anyway, as to the massive amounts of Spartans. I agree, it's Joyride all over again. Easily understandable-you want to make as many variants as you can-they're all guaranteed to be bought (they always closely resemble -somebody's- variant out there), and it's a lot nicer for people who want a specific color to get it if there are lots of different versions. Still, wouldn't hurt to have a few more unique characters. I like the suggestion of the Ship Master-it would be a very cool figure with minimal new molds.

They ought to make 343 a pack in with Johnson. That way if you want Johnson you have to get Guilty Spark and vice versa. I personally want both, and it may seem a little shifty but it's a way to guarantee they both sell out.

I agree with you on johnson... but guilty spark? I think that some form of infantry brute or standard marine would be a much better choice. If mcfarlane ever makes an accessory pack, they could put guilty spark, variuos weapons, and flood infection forms in it.

Guilty spark and johson together would work, the gulty spark would need to be with a human or something smaller just because the cost of plastic. But I think the best thing would e a guilty spark and a sentinel drone. Infection forms could be packed with anything because they are relatively small compared to anything else.

He's probably just lol and say no, that's the point of exclusives. Makes them good money to sell them only in a specific shop, because the shop will pay more for said exclusives to get the business.

You could always just take some silver paint to your MC figure, it's not like these repaints Mcfarlane is putting out are much different from the custom figures we've seen.

You should pick up some of the Campaign enemies for their weapons-they're excellent sculpts too, superior to the Spartans in some aspects I think.

Yeah Arbiter needs some work the legendary arbiter figure's colors are correct they should change it but they probably won't it's too late, plus the jaws look weird on him the first version's mold was perfect it was just the color. The order of grunt ranks goes:

Minor - Orange

The Arbiter's armor can look both silver and goldish depending on the lighting in the game. I think the Mcfarlane version might be a little too bronzy and tarnished looking, buts its very close.

A quick summary of things that caught my eye-
Arbiter armor is definately gold, both on the figure and the statue
Removable helmet for Brute Stalker :)
New Transparant blue wings for Drone, very cool looking
New Halo packaging is boss, customized for Multiplayer and Campaign.
Looks like the "Tentacle arm" for the Flood Human has a cut joint-anybody who sees any other articulation should give a shout.

On the flip side, looks like we still won't get poseable mandibles. :(
Jackal Major Shield is a more red color then what we've seen-a very intimidating figure. Far more scary than the first Jackal.

The amount of articulation has "jumped up" on the packaging-it's now 26 points, instead of 18 (This just means McFarlane has learned to count, they didn't add anything)

The new packageing look amazing! Im really happy to see that the POA have jumped to 26 on the spartans and recon look cool! Nice how the helmet comes off the brute stalker and the ODST just is outstanding! I've also notice some of the figures are missing there weapons. The figures that are suppost to come with 2 only have 1 now.

they weren't supposed to come with 2, that's a misconception and an assumption that was made by a lot of people. all of those photos were provided under the guidline that they were of prototypes and that the final product and accessories may change.

Seems odd to include pictures of the two weapons per figure on the official packaging as well though, unless that is subject to change soon. Either way it's a low blow, looks like the only way to get the Splaser now is to buy another MasterChief. :(

It's not odd at all. Think about all the packaging photos and you'll see tons of examples of things that didn't make the final cut or paint apps that were changed that appear on the final packaging. Other companies do it as well.

The Superhero Squad Venom with the razor teeth and open mouth that was supposed to be packaged with Puma. The Venom with the closed mouth and overly large teeth that was supposed to be in the animated line. The King Draako photos not matching up.

It happens.

I can't believe how the backer card designer balanced the halo 3 logo with a warning hazard on the front top of the card. On back, the underside, or even to the side is pleasingly and legally acceptable but to balance it with the the main logo of the line is just wrong.

It's probably not that active since we still haven't gotten series 2 yet to nitpick over. And McFarlane provides such great pics for all their figures and does such an outstanding job that we have less to talk about it. I still have my series 2 preordered and after I get them all I'll preorder series 3.

That sort of nonsense is fun. I hope we eventually get more campaign figures like hunters, and ones like zealot elites (gold), major grunts (red), jackal majors (orange shield/purple shield in Halo 3), jackal minors (turqoise shield), and regular brute infantry.

So? :) I think Joe F. said in a post that their license covered all three games. I don't wanna dig up that post though... I know I read it somewhere, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a red-shielded Jackal Major in any of the games, which is the figure they are producing. Majors have orange shields in Halo and Halo 2, and purpleish ones in Halo 3. Maybe they are just going by grunt ranks where a minor is orange and major is red. Worth looking in to.

Eh, go for it, although I'm willing to bet the ODST isn't as impressive as I would have expected. If you've seen the elbows you already know some corners were cut.

Actually I meant the regular soldier. See in my area, the covenant were hard to find, so I'm assuming the other campaign figures will be just as rare and under-stocked. So if I reserve them, at least there's a gurantee. However the extra bucks are going to cost me.

You might be able to preorder the ODST somewhere cheaper than Gamestop. I'd try Amazon first.

Right which I plan on buying. But I want the ODST, not the Spartan. However I live in the boonies and the only places that sell these figs are gamestop and Toys R Us. And FYE but they're way over priced to begin with. So I'm saying, Toys barely got any of series 1, gamestop got a good number of them, but by the time I got up there all they had were green Chiefs. So what I'm saying is it'd probably be easier for me just to reserve one at gamestop so I'm guranteed to get one.
