I just realized this last night.
The new packaging enables goalies nets to be given with the goalies now. BUT NHL 19 will be in the new packaging and the photos showed goalies without nets! :( So that means TMP doesn't have intentions of putting nets back with the goalies! :(
No excuses this time TMP, the new packaging can fit nets again!

It's NHL 20 that starts the new packaging. And I'd be willing to bet we won't get back nets.

What he said.
TMP is doing this move to try and cut back on costs and prevent the need to increase the cost of their product to the consumer. With the price of petroleum and the cost of producing plastic rising, giving us goalie nets back doesn't really make much sense for TMP financially.
It's not going to happen. But just for fun I am curious to see what excuse TMP publicly gives for why we won't be getting the nets back! LOL

NHL 20? Really?
But NFL Legends 4 comes out in July and it is in the new packaging. NHL 19 is scheduled for August.

Instead of using the tired old excuse of "we're only doing this so you won't have to pay more for SP's", why doesn't TMP charge an extra buck or two and give customers what they want? With the amount of negativity this latest idea has created, I'm sure most people would gladly pay the extra cash to get a product they want.
The only way to get TMP to listen is to become a buyer for a mass retail chain. Every time there's a change that short changes the bottom line customers being us, they claim it's so they don't have to increase prices but we all know it's to appease retailers. We saw that with 'a major mass retailer' wanting cases of 8 figures per case instead of 12. Why? So they can maintain their order obligation of the same amount of cases with actually less figures to have to sell. The other major change was the downsizing of the old clamshells because retailers wanted smaller packaging so they could fit more figures into the same alloted pegspace. We ended up having to buy separate nets not due to being concerned that SP costs would rise, but to make the retailers happy. Retailers still stopped carrying SP's or drastically reduced orders. Again, charge people an extra dollar or two and avoid alienating more people who keep the line alive.
Perhaps its time the company started considering the people who keep them in business.

why put the nets in when they can sell them seperatly and make more money off them.
