okay ....offical...for the rest of season 12...
up front...this weeks new show..:
Over Logging
No one in South Park has Internet access (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_access) and there’s no telling when, or even if, it will come back. Desperation sets in as the fear of the unknown spreads rapidly across the country. When Randy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_and_Sharon_Marsh) hears there still may be some Internet out in California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California), he packs up his family and heads west in search of a signal.

"what the internet is down? google up why. There's no internet to find that out"....or something like that lol

I have a feeling this one is going to suck and have some really unfunny and ham-fisted crappy moral/current event junk behind it.
Last week's with Garrison and Mr. Cartmanez was actually funny, I want more SP along those lines.

If you saw the end of the episode the mouse is sitting on his shoulder without the wang, so obviously they removed it from the mouse and put it on Garrison.

This episode is going to be the best of the season. I have a feeling that this episode will redeem the first half of Season 12. I can't wait for it.

The season has been weak, but last week's was funny, if only to see Cartmenez continually rag on the Patriots.

I'm exactly in the same boat, man. And people always ask me why I keep watching. It's that constant optimism, HOPING the next episode is the one they make that turnaround on, but then getting the bubble burst when it's yet another crappy episode.

Pretty dull so far, I really hate how they take some basic joke like "Hurf durf people are too dependent on the internet" and then stretch it out as a whole episode. It's just not funny.

the ep was on a whole pretty good, just a little slow..

I wouldn't say that, it has a point to make, but the point was made in the first 90 seconds of the episode, the rest of it was dragging it on and on and on needlessly with nothing new or interesting added to the premise.
That right there is why I'm on here on a weekly basis saying that South Park completely and totally sucks.

Nail on head. South Park is supposed to be a comedy show, which ostensibly means it's supposed to make the audience laugh and be generally witty. Now Matt and Trey are just making it into some lame half-assed soapbox to ramble on about whatever stupid moral or pop culture jab they feel like whining about for 23 minutes.
I love the show but it's really showing its age now and going the way of the Simpsons where it's just dragging itself along on life support.

It was hilarious when they showed Randy covered in explosive ****. I think the rest of the episode is intended to be mildly amusing. I found it to be far more relevant than the Britney Spears episode, which, aside from being disgusting, seemed like an idea that was already old.
I also saw the ending coming a mile away. When they first showed "The Internet", my first thought was that it should be unplugged and then plugged back in.
And, even when it's lousy, South Park is still better than the Simpsons, which has been on auto-pilot for several years now.

I'll give you that one. But, the problem is that if Trey and Matt don't start bailing the water out fast, this sinking ship is gonna go the way of the Simpsons.

I really didn't enjoy this episode. I chuckled a little at Randy's "ghost", but it was boring otherwise. I enjoyed last week, but not this. I still have yet to see the "Canada on Strike" episode. I should have watched a movie instead.
Randy and his porn choices were the only funny thing. I looked up one of Randy's favorite things and what I found is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while, so if you want to see something really funny look up Brazillian Fart Porn. I saw a movie on Redtube and I laughed so hard I almost pasted out.

Are you people serious? I mean I didn't burst out laughing the whole episode but there were tons of funny parts in that. Randy's one thing he does on the internet before bed and it's jacking off. The simulator is someone drawing stick figures and the interracial scene was 3 guys with their faces scribbled black. Shelly meets her internet BF and she is all shy and then he says he will email her and she gets happy again. That episode was really funny. This season has been fair. The only really bad show was the Brittney one.

Anyone know what it's about?Mr. Garrison takes the fourth grade class on an educational field trip to a Pioneer Village where dedicated workers remain in character as their counterparts from the 1800's. Cartman forces Butters to ditch the fanatical townsfolk to go to the amusement center located next door. While the rest of kids are reluctantly learning about the good old days in Colorado, a group of trigger-happy thieves break into the museum and take everyone hostage.

This episode was a bigger step up in comparison to the boring "no more internet" one. Still, just a pass though, nothing that really had me laughing hard. The villager's dedication to keep up the act was great, but felt a little stupid after a while. Cartman and Butter's sub-plot/merger with the regular plot was good for a little bit. The whole "Butters won't let go of his hand" thing was pretty funny. What really made the sub-plot great was the very last moment of the episode, where a worn out, bruised, beaten and tired Butters drags Cartman onto the bus, let's go of his hand and says, his voice showing his utter tired "Teacher....my partner is on the bus!" and he collapses....classic.
This one was very good. I enjoyed it thoroughly. MUCH more so than the internet one.
I was expecting the problem with the internet to be that Cartman was downloading a mega-huge file, not something lame like a giant router being unplugged. But this latest episode made up for that.

Trout606
04-24-2008, 04:49 PM
I think the moral of this episode is that they REALLY need to lay off the ham-fisted current event/pop culture BS episodes that are either lame in general or try way too hard to shove a moral lesson at the viewer with few to no laughs to back it up. The show's in some of its best form when it's just contained within its own "universe" and the plot just deals with the town and the characters.
