lol.
I saw every episode through season 2 and the first episode of season 3.
Season 2 is amazing. Better than season 1 imo. At some point I'll finish season 3.

I'm bitter, dude.
There was no reason to end that show. And what did they replace it with? ****ing "John From Cincinnati"??? "In Treatment"??? They could've at least followed through on the ****ing "Preacher" series they've been taunting us with forever, but nooooooo!
HBO sucks, man.

I agree completely. HBO's cancellations of both Deadwood and Rome have quite disappointed me too.

Rome has so many possibilities...but it was an expensive venture for HBO and they wanted to stay within the Julius era and the fallout from it with CA. I would have loved to have seen HBO continue it into the fall of Rome through a condensed three season view of everything from the reign of CA in season three...to the aftermath of failed Caesar by way of Caligula and ending by way of Constantine. But the production would have failed by way of leaving he original cast and there was none better than Marc Anthony and it went out in style
Unlike Deadwood.
Deadwood went out with a whimper after introducing one of the greatest characters HBO has ever produced. Al Swearengen.
The Deadwood creative team lost all of their spine after season one. Hell they even took Wyatt Earrp living in Deadwood for years and shot it down to one episode.
For Shame HBO.

P.S. Thanks for John Adams, The Wire, the first and second seasons of Sopranos and Band Of Brothers aka the best television you can watch with a set of eyes.

I agree with Rome and Deadwood....they were pretty much the best shows on TV....while atleast Rome tied itself up nicely, Deadwood was cut too early...I am still pissed....
the worst part is that HBO hasnt replaced it with anything worth watching...The wire is too deep now to jump aboard....but the other shows they have on suck balls...

The only one I'll disagree with you on is the John Adams series. And you will love the Wire if you start from the beginning. Getting in from the middle there are too many characters to keep track of.

I don't think Deadwood had the option of a nice, clean ending. HBO pulled the plug and they only had so much time to do what they could. I've never watched Rome but all I heard was that both shows were very expensive to produce so it was a typical network cost-cutting move.
:( geek tragedy ):

I found much of the last season mosly the first half to be pretty bleh. I would love to see it get wrapped up with a feature film though.

Wasn't there talk of a two part mini-movie finale for deadwood?

Actually yes, in fact I believe HBO repeatedly promised a straight-to-dvd wrap-up for the lingering storyline in Deadwood. I could be wrong though.

Both are great. I hope "at some point" becomes sooner rather than later. You're missing out! :)
