Had a dry spell there for a while, I was startin to get the shakes. Ahh that new plastic smell....Intoxicating...Oh anyways, finally snagged the turtles and WOW am i happy w/ these. After seeing how awesome Varia's Leo and Don touch ups looked i had to do it myself too, as i grew up with the toon turtles more so than the comic versions. Also got Hellboy and AVP-R on blu ray(my first ones besides spidey3 freebie) Also a PS3 remote :D

Whats people beef about the necks? I don't see a problem, have you ever actually seen a real turtle before?

Nice! I think your decision to repaint is awesome, as it served your purpose just as well as it did mine: sentimentality!

I do agree about the lines, though. Since I'm no paint expert, I cheated with the black lines...I just painted around them. I was thinking about using a fine tip sharpie, or maybe a toothpick with black paint on the tip should it have been necessary. Luckily it wasn't.

So it's up to you as far as that goes. Also, perhaps a more electric blue for Leo...it'd be easy to retouch again, if you wanted.

Anyway you go, you've got a hella set there! Nice work!

I'd have gone with a darker blue for Leo, but otherwise they'd look good. If you have a steady hand I'd try and add the black lines back in too

As you comment on a thread about turtles who are ninjas. We aren't talking about actualy turtles. The necks look strange and the articulation is weird. Looks like the turkey neck you get in the bird. That or something else, but this is a family show so I won't go there.

Edit: By the way, there's no need to be so defensive, friend. If you like them, great! Don't let the fact that I think they're weird looking take away from the happiness they give you.

A dysfunctional family show at that. :spawnorb:

The black lines are easy to do. Take a small amount of black acrylic paint, add about 3X as much water (3:1 mix, should have the consistency of milk), and then paint the heads with the watery mix. You can use a paper towel to soak up the extra, and paint the heads upside-down, so that all of the excess flows to the top of the head. It will create very nice black lines, and give the figure more of that gritty, "I live in a sewer" feel.

Umm, not sure how i was being defensive but whatever, As for the necks they are based on actual turtles as that is what they mutated from, but more to the point, that is how they appeared in the original comics, so yea in closing i was merly stating a fact perhaps some people didn't know, so please don't try to make me sound like a weirdo thanks :)

Don't know if the areas the lines need to be are deep enough for that, but i suppode i could try, thanks.
